Study on Factors Affecting Turnover Intention of Digital evidence analyst : Focus on Job stress, Job satisfaction, Organizational commitment (디지털증거분석관의 이직 의도에 영향을 주는 요인에 관한 연구 - 직무스트레스, 직무만족, 조직몰입을 중심으로)

  • With advances in digital technologies digital crimes also rapidly have been increased. For this reason, the digital forensics has an important role in investigating digital crimes. In particular digital evidence analysts have been responsible for more workloads as much increased as it reflects an importance of their task. However previous researches have more focused on technology, not much on their work circumstance and behaviors. This study is to draw out factors affecting job stress and its effects on their turnover rate as it considers Job satisfaction, organization commitment. In this study, survey have been conducted targeting 124 personnel in National Police Agency and then the collected data were analyzed by using Smart PLS 3.0. This study have proved that causal relationship between job stress, satisfaction, commitment and job turnover respectively which is borrowed from organizational concepts. There will be theoretical and practical contribution to improve work circumstance and secure digital forensic talents as well.

  • As investigations dealing with digital evidence increase, so to does the need for skilled first responders and improved investigation process models. Recently the concept of digital forensic triage and preliminary analysis has been gaining popularity in investigation laboratories. At the same time, however, there has been little focus on specific training needs of first response and preliminary analysts. Instead, many organizations consider these responders to need the same skills as full digital forensic analysts. In this work we describe the 'ideal' digital investigation first responder and preliminary analyst, hardware and software requirements and most importantly, required training.

  • With the rapid development of the information society, the use of digital devices has increased dramatically and the importance of technology for analyzing them has increased. Digital evidence is stored in many places such as Prefetch, Recent, Registry, and Event Log even if the user has deleted it. Therefore, there is a disadvantage that the forensic analyst can not grasp the files used by the user at the beginning. Therefore, in this paper, we propose a method that the RemoveList folder exists so that the user can grasp the information of the deleted file first, and the information about the deleted file is automatically saved by using AES in RemoveList. Through this, it can be expected that the analyst can alleviate the difficulty of initially grasping the user's PC.

A Study on the Methods of Building Tools and Equipment for Digital Forensics Laboratory (디지털증거분석실의 도구·장비 구축 방안에 관한 연구)

  • The use of digital information according to the development of information and communication technology and the 4th industrial revolution is continuously increasing and diversifying, and in proportion to this, crimes using digital information are also increasing. However, there are few cases of establishing an environment for processing and analysis of digital evidence in Korea. The budget allocated for each organization is different and the digital forensics laboratory built without solving the chronic problem of securing space has a problem in that there is no standard that can be referenced from the initial configuration stage. Based on this awareness of the problem, this thesis conducted an exploratory study focusing on tools and equipment necessary for building a digital forensics laboratory. As a research method, focus group interviews were conducted with 15 experts with extensive practical experience in the digital forensic laboratory or digital forensics field and experts' opinions were collected on the following 9 areas: network configuration, analyst computer, personal tools·equipment, imaging devices, dedicated software, open source software, common tools/equipment, accessories, and other considerations. As a result, a list of tools and equipment for digital forensic laboratories was derived.
