SMOSLG Algorithm for Digital Image Restoration (디지털 영상복원을 위한 SMOSLG 알고리즘)

  • OSL algorithm has an advantage that repeated algorithm is easily derived, even though penalty function which has a complicated transcendental function. In order to solve this problem, we suggested MPEMG algorithm. However, though this algorithm extend convergence rate of smoothing constant, it include the problem that is not faster than OSL algorithm in the convergence rate increasing penalized log-likelihood. Accordingly, in this paper, we will suggest SMOSLG digital image restoration algorithm which is fast in the convergence rate as well as extend convergence region of smoothing constant. And also we will study the usefulness of algorithm suggested through digital image simulation.

  • In this paper, we first summarize key components of integrated services of telecommunication and broadcasting. Definitions and typology of th e integrated services are organized th rough comprehensive analysis of recent convergence trend of telecommunications and broadcasting. Various issues on regulations, society cultures, and technical aspects of the convergence are identified. Next, we deal with the digital media broadcasting service which is one of the technical culmination of the telecommunication and broadcasting merged services. The focus of the analysis has been made on policy implications and comparative details with other similar services in the same category. Finally, we suggest the perspectives on forthcoming digital media broadcasting service developments, and implications to cope with this emerging technological breakthrough.

  • 본 연구는 3차원 인체 데이터 위에 가상 의류를 착장시키는 착장 시뮬레이션 시스템의 구현을 소개 한다. 인체 데이터는 3차원 전신 레이저 스캐너로 계측하였으며 가상의류는 의복의 앞뒷면 촬영 영상으로 하였다. 대상 의류는 원피스, 티셔츠, 바지 등과 같은 비교적 복잡하지 않은 구조의 의류이며, 본 논문에서는 상의 및 원피스의 착장 과정과 바지의 착장 그리고 바지위에 상의를 착장하는 중첩 착장의 과정을 보여준다. 가상 착장 결과로 실제 착장과 동일한 결과를 제공하기 때문에 치수가 자신에게 맞는지의 정보와 착장시의 어울림의 정보가 온라인상에서 육안으로 확인되도록 제공되며, 디지털 의류의 준비도 간단하여, 본 논문의 결과로 새로운 형태의 온라인 의류 판매 방식이 제시될 수 있다.

  • Convergence ethics education for digital culture in cyberspace is limited to specific areas such as personal information and copyright. Education on the ability to accept information and provide information in cyberspace in which digital natives communicate, share and exchange is inadequate. As a result, the dysfunction of abusing the personal information of others without recognizing the importance of information security has recently emerged as a social problem. In this study, among digital netizen who communicate and exchange information the most in cyberspace, digital literacy education was conducted for students in the first and second grades of university, and then they investigated the change in information security perception. Based on this, we intend to prepare fundamental measures for systematic cultivation of digital literacy education necessary for the Digital Cultural Society.

Pulsed electromagnetic field potentiates etoposide-induced MCF-7 cell death

  • Etoposide is a chemotherapeutic medication used to treat various types of cancer, including breast cancer. It is established that pulsed electromagnetic field (PEMF) therapy can enhance the effects of anti-cancer chemotherapeutic agents. In this study, we investigated whether PEMFs influence the anti-cancer effects of etoposide in MCF-7 cells and determined the signal pathways affected by PEMFs. We observed that co-treatment with etoposide and PEMFs led to a decrease in viable cells compared with cells solely treated with etoposide. PEMFs elevated the etoposide-induced PARP cleavage and caspase-7/9 activation and enhanced the etoposide-induced down-regulation of survivin and up-regulation of Bax. PEMF also increased the etoposide-induced activation of DNA damage-related molecules. In addition, the reactive oxygen species (ROS) level was slightly elevated during etoposide treatment and significantly increased during co-treatment with etoposide and PEMF. Moreover, treatment with ROS scavenger restored the PEMF-induced decrease in cell viability in etoposide-treated MCF-7 cells. These results combined indicate that PEMFs enhance etoposide-induced cell death by increasing ROS induction-DNA damage-caspase-dependent apoptosis.

Skin-Mimicking Phantom for Measurment of Cosmetic Transdermal Absorption and Temperature Changes by Sonophoresis

  • Functional cosmetics containing various ingredients that improve skin health are currently being developed. In addition, technologies that help increase the absorption rate of such cosmetics have recently gained significant attention. Sonophoresis is a method to increase the transdermal absorption of cosmetics using ultrasound. A skin-mimicking phantom was fabricated using polydimethylsiloxane, Strat-MTM membrane, and thermochromic pigments. Gel-type cosmetics used in skin mask packs and epidermal-growth-factor-based nano-cosmetics were tested for their absorption rates at ultrasound frequencies of 1, 3, and 10 MHz in the single frequency mode, and 1/3 and 3/10 MHz in the dual frequency mode. The gel-type cosmetics and epidermal-grow-factor-based nano-cosmetics showed the highest absorption rate at 3/10MHz dual frequency. The size of the cosmetic particles decreased by 5-9 %. Furthermore, the temperature rise caused by ultrasound could be visually recognized by the thermochromic pigment in the phantom turning white. We presented a skin-mimicking phantom. The device can be customized according to the size of the ultrasound probe and has the advantage of quantitatively evaluating the transdermal permeability of cosmetics at a low cost. The development of the skin-mimicking phantom will be useful for determining the suitable conditions required to increase the absorption rate of cosmetics using ultrasound.

  • Digital Signage is outdoor media to provide each content and message through digital displays instead that posters and signs are displayed on public facilities. Recently, digital signage have been popular to deliver variety information and advertising on the rapid development of intelligent digital imaging devices based LCD, LED. Continuously digital signage demand and market are growing because digital signage feature is able to capable of interactive communication. Digital signage is expected that digital advertising market is continue rising in spite of global economic downturn at various research institutions, and it is expected to replace traditional media advertising in a new way with the coming digital signage at convergence media side.

  • The aim of this study to analyze the effect of person and situation on digital privacy protection behaviors. The research method design is a factorial design of volition and horizontality. The measurement variables used in the investigation are digital privacy security awareness, digital civic engagement, and digital privacy protection behavior. As a result, the volition had a significant effect on digital privacy protection behavior, and it was found that influence of the high-volition-based condition was greater than the low-volition-based condition. The horizontality had a significant effect on digital privacy security awareness, digital civic engagement, and it was found that influence of the high-horizontality-based condition was greater than the low-horizontality-based condition. In addition, the discussion explains the suitable contents of information security usability based on these research results.
