  • The prolonged untact era, which has continued since the end of 2019, further accelerated the spread of distribution platforms that provide cultural contents in digital form. Digital content distribution platforms are fiercely competing in the market as the central axis of cultural content planning, production and distribution. In this study, we apply the open innovation theory as a competitive element of digital content distribution platforms to assess whether competitiveness can be secured in terms of multilingualization of content.

  • Since the 1990s, digital technology has been actively applied in the field of heritage, and this presents a new possibility of using cultural heritage as a way to utilize the original cultural data that was previously recorded and stored. Methods of interpreting cultural heritage have been particularly diversified due to various external circumstances such as COVID-19 and time constraints, and the use of contactless digital content has played a significant role in built heritage that cannot be moved. Building Information Modeling (BIM) technology is considered as a way to properly express the authenticity of built heritage, but simply creating built heritage content with BIM cannot express the authenticity of cultural heritage. Therefore, it is necessary to show the reliability of the process of content production through an authorized institution and to provide the information of members on the content. This study intends to contribute to the field of digital heritage by suggesting ways to improve reliability and express authenticity in the production of built heritage content.

  • Today, the media environment has changed dramatically with the development of Internet transmission technology, computer performance, and various media production technologies. In particular, video content is widely used every day through mobile device or computer connected to the Internet. In addition, the ability to produce video content today is more important than ever, as the use of video content is also increasing in the area of information delivery and communication over the Internet. In this study, it was developed a liberal education curriculum in universities for the production of video content. The developed curriculum was composed of a combination of an online curriculum for theory and an offline curriculum for practicum. In the online curriculum, a 54 DOOR contents were developed to allow students to learn the theoretical knowledge and basic making techniques related to the production of video content. In an offline 15-week practicum curriculum, it covered the practical training contents of video content production that should be acquired every week. This developed liberal education curriculum aims to give non-major students in universities the opportunity to learn the technology of producing video content and to foster the ability to communicate in the media environment by using the video content produced.

  • Interest in virtual humans continues to increase due to the development of generative AI, extended reality, computer graphics technology, and the spread of a converged metaverse that goes beyond the boundaries between reality and virtuality. Despite the negative public opinion that virtual humans were just temporary form of entertainment event in the early days of their emergence, the reason they are showing continuous growth is due to the unique characteristics of virtual humans and the expansion of diverse usage from technological advancements. The production of video content using virtual humans is becoming vigorously active, but currently there is limitation and no exact process for the technology to apply virtual humans to video content for it to be produced accordingly to the characteristics or situations of virtual humans. In this study, we investigated the characteristics of virtual human production technology methods & processes, and identifying the impact of each production technology on the production environment through examples of virtual human content applied to domestic and international video contents. In conclusion, by proposing an appropriate production method for each content, we hope to develop and assist production practitioners so they can effectively use virtual humans in video content production.

  • The concept of Virtual Character has been developed for a long time with people's demand for cultural and entertainment products such as games, animations, and movies. In recent years, with the rapid development of concepts and industries such as social media, self-media, web3.0, artificial intelligence, virtual reality, and Metaverse, Virtual Character has also expanded new derivative concepts such as Virtual Idol, Virtual YouTuber, and Virtual Digital Human. With the development of technology, people's life is gradually moving towards digitalization and virtualization. At the same time, under the global environment of the new crown epidemic, human social activities are rapidly developing in the direction of network society and online society. From the perspective of digital media content, this paper studies the production technology of Virtual Character related products in the Chinese market, and analyzes the future development direction and possibility of the Virtual Character industry in combination with new media development directions and technical production methods. Consider and provide reference for the development of combined applications of digital media content industry, Virtual Character and Metaverse industry.

  • A hologram projects a 3 dimensional video as same as a real subject and it is made by principles of holography. Many researches about holographic technology have been developed. Studies for visualization of 3D videos, holographic storages, and optical media have proceeded mostly in engineering. It is hard to find any researches about the convergent system from the viewpoint of interactive elements and motion graphic design such as this paper's concept. Most studies of augmented reality have been developed in the domain of technology and education but the field of content production. AR has been convergent with various fields and media, so it is time to make an active progress in the study of convergent content development. The goal of this study is to develop cultural contents and create new values through the convergence of holography and AR. The purpose of this paper is to propose the way of developing the convergent type of cultural contents and construct the production system by the new approach to users using the convergence technology of holography and augmented reality.

  • Barrage language is a new media language based on Internet video. It is a representative expression of the Internet environment regardless of its format and content. As a unique movie viewing characteristic provided by the barrage function, the timeliness of feedback, entertainment, and interactivity of the content are excellent. Characteristic. Barrage language itself is closely related not only to the value of linguistic research, but also to the spread of the Internet in the Internet environment. Based on the current situation of Chinese video sites, this thesis explores how Barrage is an organic cycle of culture and consumption in a specific platform and group, and analyzes its propagation methods and effects. By analyzing the characteristics of content production patterns unique to the barrage culture, implications and reference values for production activities of other cultures, the effect of popularization on viewers and the production and consumption of the 'barrage' culture of the industry is studied, and furthermore, the 'barrage' culture is It was designed to be a reference for the development of the platform, internet culture, and animation industry culture.

  • This thesis is a study of content development utilizing media outlets to date through digital humans. The trend of global content is that the video content industry, including the character business, is growing. Lil Michela, who was selected as one of the 25 most influential people on the Internet by Time magazine in 2018, Nasua, who appeared in a SK Telecom commercial, and Rosie, who appeared in a Shinhan Bank commercial, are representative. Digital humans, which are driving new content, are computer-generated human characters with various characteristics and are referred to as virtual humans, metahumans, and cyber humans. With the rise of the metaverse after COVID-19, digital humans are being utilized in various forms such as media and marketing as an element of visual content. In the form of media, we can see that the boundaries between the offline and digital worlds are converging, and in the form of marketing, we can see that digital humans connect consumers and products more naturally. In the form of interaction, it is possible to achieve two-way communication through various methods of operation, and through these factors, it is possible to go beyond behavioral communication in the form of memorialization to emotional communication through AI technology. What can be seen through these processes is that through the currently developing digital human production methods and AI functions, not only experts but also non-experts can create quality contents, and new directions of contents will appear, and contents that can provide immediate feedback by bringing consumers and creators closer together have been studied.

  • In this paper, we introduce a case study of cinematography using digital human in virtual production. This case study deals with the system overview of virtual production using LEDs and an efficient filming pipeline using digital human. Unlike virtual production using LEDs, which mainly project the background on LEDs, in this case, we use digital human as a virtual actor to film scenes communicating with a real actor. In addition, to film the dialogue scene between the real actor and the digital human using a real-time engine, we automatically generated speech animation of the digital human in advance by applying our Korean lip-sync technology based on audio and text. We verified this filming case by using a real-time engine to produce short drama content using real actor and digital human in an LED-based virtual production environment.
