  • 의 DGD(Differential Group Delay)값을 가지는 여러 토막의 편광유지 광섬유를 이용하여 가변 1차 PMD 보상기를 구현하여 보았으며. 구현된 1차 편광모드분산 보상기를 10Gbps의 신호발생기에 적용하여 1차 편광모드분산 성능을 확인하여 보았다.

  • This paper presents a simple method to compensate reactive/harmonic current components in power lines, with voltage type current controlled converter. The method proposed differs from conventional methods in that it does not rely on explict evaluation of active power. Instead, the closed-loop control of the do link voltage of the compensator plays a major role in adjusting the compensation current. It is shown that the system can be modelled as a simple linear system, which facilitates th analytical approach to the system characteristics. The dynamic performances are examined through the digital simulation and some aspects on the controller design are discussed. Experimental results showed good agreement with the anticipate performance

Enhanced Track Jump Stability in Optical Disc Drives (광디스크 드라이브에서의 트랙 점프 안정도 향상)

  • Track jump control is a random access strategy for short distance movement. The most common track jump scheme is a bang-bang control of a kick and brake manner. In a conventional track jump scheme, a track-following compensator is turned off during kick and brake periods, and restarted at a target track for track pull-in. The inevitable controller switching with non-zero initial condition results in undesirable transient response, and excessive overshoot in the transient response causes track pull-in failure. In this paper, a new track jump scheme is proposed for enhancing track jump stability. Instead of control switching, internal states of a track-following controller are artificially manipulated for kick and brake actions in a digital control environment. Experimental results are provided in comparison with conventional track jumps.

  • The present paper deals with the development of digital contouring controller for multiaxial servosystem. Instead of coordinating the commands to the individual feed drives and implementing closed position loop control for each axis, this work is achieved by the evaluation of a optimal cross-couple compensator aimed specifically at improving contouring accuracy in multi-axial feed drives. The optimal control formulation explicitly includes the contour error in the performance index to be minimized. The contouring control is simulated for straight line. The results show that the proposed controller reduces contouring errors considerably, as compared to the conventional uncoupled control for biaxial systems.

  • In this paper, a sliding mode controller (SMC) which can be characterized by high accuracy, fast response and robustness is applied to speed control of AC-SERVO motor. The control input is changed to continuous one in the boundary layer to reduce the chattering phenomenon, and the boundary layer converges to zero when the state variables of system reach to steady state values. The integral compensator is added to reduce steady state error and to provide the continuous torque reference. The acceleration which is necessary to get the sliding plane is estimated by an observer. Sliding surface is included in control input to enhance the robustness and transient response without increasing sliding mode controller gain. The proposed controller is implemented by DSP(digital signal processor). The effectiveness of the proposed control scheme for speed controller is shown by the real-time experimental results in the paper.

Using a Disturbance Observer for Eccentricity Compensation in Optical Storage Systems

  • In this paper, we consider the track-following control problem in the optical data storage systems in the presence of the eccentricity. The eccentricity results in the radial deviation of the objective lens so that it degrades the reliability of the data decoding system. To cope with the eccentricity, an adaptive disturbance compensation technique is newly proposed in the time domain based on a disturbance observer of reduced order, which effectively estimates the low frequency components of the disturbance. The proposed compensator is simply added to the conventional feedback control. The error dynamics of the observer and the sensitivity analysis are given to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed approach. Finally, through experiments in an optical storage system, the feasibility of the proposed approach is verified.

  • 방사선치료에서 결손조직의 보호를 위해 사용되는 기존의 결손조직 보상체는 체표윤곽을 얻기위해 컴퓨터단층촬영영상이나 자기공명촬영영상등의 의료영상을 이용해 왔다. 하지만 이러한 촬영을 위해서는 고가의 비용이 소요되고 방사선치료에 따른 체표윤곽의 변화에 적절히 대응하지 못하는 등의 단점이 지적되고 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 사용이 간편한 디지털 카메라로 환자를 촬영한 후 얻은 2차원 이미지를 이용하여 결손조직 보상체를 제작하고 이의 유용성 평가를 위해 기하학적, 선량학적 평가를 수행하였다. 그 결과, 조직결손을 보정하고 정상조직을 보호할 수 있어 임상적용의 가능성을 확인 할 수 있었다.

  • VSS controller is suited for systems where the robust performances in the presence of parameter variations and disturbances are most important. The practical realization of such robust VSS algorithm using DSP ($TMS_{32020}$) is dicussed in this paper. PWH-like control signal which is produced by directly using VSS control algorithm substitutes the PWM amplifier. And the armature current is used in construction of switching function for the purpose of increasing switching frequency. In order to compensate steady state error produced by various external disturbances practical integral compensator is considered.

  • In this paper, STATCOH(static synchronous compensator : one of the custom power equipment) is proposed for balancing unbalanced loads. Compensation current references are given by the analysis of the unbalanced 3-phase currents. And for detecting negative-sequence components, digital Butterworth LPF(low pass filter) is used. The predicted current controller in the synchronous rotating coordinates is also proposed. Finally, the effectiveness of STATCOM is verified by the simulations for unbalanced loads.

  • U-Health에 대한 연구는 환자, 의료장비에 대한 위치 추적을 통한 의료업무 지원관리 분야로 집중되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 RFID Tag를 의료 측정에 적용한다. 즉, RFID Tag를 이용하여 방사선치료에서 사용되는 결손조직 보상체의 체표 윤곽을 모델링하는 방법을 제안한다. 기존의 모델링 방법은 환자의 체표 윤곽을 컴퓨터단층촬영이나 자기공명촬영을 사용한 의료영상을 이용해왔다. 이러한 방법은 고가의 비용이 소요되고 방사선치료에 따른 체표윤곽의 변화에 대응하지 못한다. 본 연구에서는 U-Health에서 기본적으로 사용하는 RFID Tag를 환자의 체표윤각에 고정하여 3차원 위치정보를 획득한다. 체표윤곽에 위치한 RFID의 상대적 위치를 통해 결손조직 보상체를 제작하고 이의 유용성 평가를 위해 기하학적, 선량학적 평가를 수행하였다.
