The Performance Improvement of Synchronous Machine with Digital Excitation System Control

  • This paper deals with the design and evaluation of the robust controller for a synchronous generator excitation system to improve the steady state and transient stability. The nonlinear characteristics of the system is treated as model uncertainties, and then the robust control techniques are introduced into the power system stability design to take into account these uncertainties at the controller design stage. The performance of the designed controller is examined by extensive non-linear time domain simulation. It is shown that the performance of the robust controller is superior to that of the conventional PI controller. This paper also proposes an improved digital exciter control system for a synchronized generator using a digitally designed controller with database. Results show that the proposed control system manifests excellent control performance compared to existing control systems. It has also been confirmed that it is easy for the proposed control system to implement digital control.

  • Using simple linear prediction algorithm a design procedure of robust PI and PID controllers for SISO system, usually called 'PID predictor controllers, is developed. The design procedure is able to properly adjust gain margin and phase margin and control coefficients are selected in frequency domain. The performance of the PID predictor controller is superior to that of the normal PID controller in terms of robustness in design and disturbance rejection.

  • This paper presents a multi output converter system that controls, simultaneously and independently, the separate Buck converter and Boost converter with the different specification by one DSP digital controller. As two separate converters are regulated by only one DSP, it is possible to achieve the simple digital control circuit for regulating the multi output DC-DC converter. By setting the software switch state, PI or Fuzzy controller can be applied as a controller for each converter without any change of hardware. Also, PI and Fuzzy control characteristics of each DC-DC converter is validated by experimental results.

  • Recently, digital camera module has been extensively utilized in mobile devices. The digital camera module should be smaller and lighter than digital still camera module to be used in mobile device. But, mobile camera can't get high quality image as good as the one of digital still camera due to the optical limitation of minimized module. Especially, AE system of mobile camera occurs excessive hunting and oscillation due to miniaturization of module. In this paper, improved AE algorithm which is applied fuzzy PI control is suggested to compensate this point.

  • Linear motor is able to produce line movement without rotary-to-line converter at the system required line moving. Thus Linear motor has no gear, screw, belt for line movement. Therefore it has some advantage which decrease friction loss, noise, vibration, maintenance effort and prevent decay of control performance due to backlash. This paper proposes the estimation method of unknown parameters from the BLDC Linear motor and determine the PI controller gain through this estimation. Each control movement that is current, speed, position control, and PWM wave generation is performed on Processor, which is DSP(Digital Signal Processor), having high speed performance. PI theory is adopted to each for controller for control behavior More fast convergence to command position is accomplished by applying the new velocity locus which derived from position error.

  • 벡터제어기법은 유도전동기의 고성능 운전을 위해 널리 사용되고 있다. 벡터제어기법을 사용해 전동기의 속도제어를 행할 정우 전동기의 속도나 전류를 제어하기 위해 주로 PI제어기가 사용되고 있다. 이 경우 유도전동기의 동 특성은 PI제어기의 이득과 밀접한 관계를 갖고 있으며 유도전동기의 고성능제어를 위해서는 PI제어기의 이득을 최적화 시킬 필요가 있다. 그러나 PI제어기의 이득을 최적화 시키기 위해서는 전동기제이 시스템의 등가모델을 정확히 알아야 하기 때문에 변동 부하조건하에서 일관성 있는 최적 이득값을 얻기란 대단히 힘들다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 PI제어기의 단점을 보완하기 위해 과도상태만을 제어하기 위한 간략화된 퍼지제어기와 정상상태 제어를 위한 기존의 PI제어기를 병렬로 구성한 하이브리드 제어기를 제안하고 이를 실제 유도전동기의 벡터제어에 적용하여 알고리즘의 타당성을 검증하였다.

  • 본 논문에서는 영구자석형 동기전동기의 속도제어를 위한 전류제어 서보시스템을 설계하였다. PI(Proportional Integral) 제어기 파라메터의 자동동조(auto-tuning)를 위한 기존의 방법들에서는 출력응답이 지연되고 오버슈트 가 발생된다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 기존의 문제점들을 해결함으로써 빠른 응답과 오버슈트를 제거할 수 있는 새로운 PI자동동조 방법을 속도 제어기에 적용한다. 영구자석형 동기전동기 서보시스템은 수많은 서보 모터들이 사용되고 있는 자동화 공장에서 보수 유지의 용이성과 가제어성으로 인해 많은 장점들을 제공한다. 구현된 서보시스템은 회전자의 절대 위치 검출회로, 자동동조 PI 제어 알고리즘, DSP(Digital Signal Processor)에 의한 속도제어기, 그리고 전력 구동부 등으로 구성된다. 본 논문에서 제안된 서보시스템의 실질적인 유용성은 실험을 통해 입증한다.

퍼지 PI제어기를 이용한 중속 디젤 기관의 속도제어에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Speed Control of Medium Diesel Engine using a Fuzzy-PI Controller)

  • The speed control system of diesel engine is considerably nonlinear. Therefore, a countermeasure such as gain scheduling used to be incorporated to compensate this nonlinearity. On the other hand, it is said that fuzzy control is very robust against nonlinearity. But it is difficult to get a satisfactory response with only fuzzy control in real system. In this paper authors design a fuzzy-PI controller for the speed control of Medium diesel engine and carry out experiments with dedicate system implemented by Intel 80916KC to real diesel engine, Deawoo MAN 6Cyl., 1800rpm driving 3$\psi$220V, 150KW generator. We confirm the effectiveness of proposed control system.

  • Generally, the current controller is located inner the whole controller, so the characteristic of the current controller is important in controlling performance of the upper controller. A current control loop in motor control is designed so that it is 10 times faster than the speed control loop of the upper controller. Thus, the current controller with complex control algorithm is not proper. In this paper, the improved current controller using a conventional digital PI controller and feedforward controller for the brushless BC motor is designed.
