Expression Trend and Characteristics of Pixel in Contemporary Fashion (현대패션에 나타난 픽셀의 표현 경향과 특성)

  • This study examined the pixel's expression trend and nature featured in contemporary fashion, which works as a basic unit symbolizing the digital image, paying attention to its formativeness. The work through this process aimed at suggesting an opportunity for recognition about pixel image utilized as a formative component beyond its simple meaning of unit and providing the fundamental materials for usage in creative fashion design reflecting the digital emotion in the future, In research method, literature review was followed on pixel and the empirical study about its image was also performed that was found in the modern fashion. As a result, the trend in pixel has these characteristics. Its first nature lies in its plane expression. It was printed as mosaic or graphic grid image or expressed through patchwork technique. Also, rather than a certain form or figure, its unique image was emphasized according to the applied color, size, and position. Second, a stepwise pattern in pixel was applied to external format for part of clothing, eye glass and necktie, indicating some interest and wit. Third, in application to plane and external shape, the graphically modernized effect was realized, not to mention the illusive image with cubic expression. As shown, the characteristics in contemporary fashion via pixel expression were given in fantastic image, optical humor, and reflection of digital value.

A new analysis on timing jitters in APD receivers of optical communication systems when considering intersymbol interferences (APD를 사용하는 광통신 시스템 수신기에서 심벌간 간섭을 고려할 경우 타이밍 지터에 대한 새로운 해석)

  • In this paper, we proposed a new mehtod to analyze the performance degradation by timing jitters in the APD (avalanche photodiode) receivers of intensity modulation/direct detection digital optical communication systems where raised cosine pulse-shaping filters are used to reduce the effect of noise while minimizing intersymbol interferences. The proposed analytical method is an extension of an analytical method we have already developed for pin diode receivers, and incorporates the effects of APD's multiplication factor and resulting shot noise. Using the proposed analytical method, we derive an approximated power penalty due to timing jitters based on an assumption of Gaussian distribution for timing jitters, and compare with that of the conventional analytical method. The results obtained from the proposed analytical method show that conventional analytical methods underestimate the influence of timing jitters on the reciver performance. The results also show that APD's multiplication factor which optimizes receiver sensitivity is smaller than that obtained by the conventional analytical method.

  • 본 논문에서 높은 에러 정정 성능을 갖는 디지털 홀로그래픽 광메모리 시스템을 구현하였다. 에러 정정 성능을 높이기 위해서, 비트에러 정정 능력을 갖고 있는 Hamming(12, 8, 1)코드와 산발 및 연집에러 정정 능력이 뛰어난 Reed-Sokomon 코드로 구성된 hydrid 코딩기법을 채용하였다. 입력 데이터로는 Lena 영상 (256$\times$256bytes)을 책택하였으며, 영상압축기법(JPEG)을 도입하였다. Hybrid 코딩과 영상압축기법을 조합한 광메모리 시스템의 시험결과가 제시되었다.

Research on Equal-resolution Image Hiding Encryption Based on Image Steganography and Computational Ghost Imaging

  • Information-hiding technology is introduced into an optical ghost imaging encryption scheme, which can greatly improve the security of the encryption scheme. However, in the current mainstream research on camouflage ghost imaging encryption, information hiding techniques such as digital watermarking can only hide 1/4 resolution information of a cover image, and most secret images are simple binary images. In this paper, we propose an equal-resolution image-hiding encryption scheme based on deep learning and computational ghost imaging. With the equal-resolution image steganography network based on deep learning (ERIS-Net), we can realize the hiding and extraction of equal-resolution natural images and increase the amount of encrypted information from 25% to 100% when transmitting the same size of secret data. To the best of our knowledge, this paper combines image steganography based on deep learning with optical ghost imaging encryption method for the first time. With deep learning experiments and simulation, the feasibility, security, robustness, and high encryption capacity of this scheme are verified, and a new idea for optical ghost imaging encryption is proposed.

Implement and Verification of the Algorithm of the Optical Disc Detection Using the Side-beams (사이드 빔을 이용한 광디스크 판별 알고리즘의 구현 및 검증)

  • This paper describes a new method of discrimination between the normal disc and the rewritable one. The conventional method of disc discrimination, using Focus error signal, has a heavy fluctuations. To achieve an accurate discrimination, in this paper, the sum of side beam[1]signal is used for that. A new approach is expected to improve the performance of disc discrimination as well as to reduce the signal variation almost by 50%. Techniques in this paper are applicable to the all types of optical disc player, such as CD (compact disc), VCD(Video-CD) and DVD (digital versatile disc) and any other optical disc players.

Vision-Based Indoor Localization Using Artificial Landmarks and Natural Features on the Ceiling with Optical Flow and a Kalman Filter

  • This paper proposes a vision-based indoor localization method for autonomous vehicles. A single upward-facing digital camera was mounted on an autonomous vehicle and used as a vision sensor to identify artificial landmarks and any natural corner features. An interest point detector was used to find the natural features. Using an optical flow detection algorithm, information related to the direction and vehicle translation was defined. This information was used to track the vehicle movements. Random noise related to uneven light disrupted the calculation of the vehicle translation. Thus, to estimate the vehicle translation, a Kalman filter was used to calculate the vehicle position. These algorithms were tested on a vehicle in a real environment. The image processing method could recognize the landmarks precisely, while the Kalman filter algorithm could estimate the vehicle's position accurately. The experimental results confirmed that the proposed approaches can be implemented in practical situations.

  • The schematic design process is formulated to develop the vibroisolating rubber mount in optical disc drives. The dynamic model of vibration isolation system is established by using a rigid body with 6 degree of freedom and linear springs with damping property. Considering the practical vibration condition of DVDP(Digital Versatile Disk Player), the required properties of vibroisolating rubber mounts are investigated. Also finite element model of a vibroisolating rubber mount is used to obtain shape design concept and identify the characteristics of a rubber mount which satisfies the required properties from previous design stage. Finally the evaluation method of dynamic properties of vibroisolating rubber mounts is established by utilizing modal test method. Based on the developed process, vibroisolating rubber mounts with a good performance have been developed.

  • Though bottom emission AM-OLED has advantages in respect of mass production, the bottom emission type is underrated due to its low aperture ratio and low color gamut, compared with top emission type. In this paper, we demonstrate that the color gamut up to 89 % can be simply achieved by depositing dielectric multilayers, whose thicknesses are determined using an optical simulation program, prior to formation of Si layer.

  • The present study relates to a method of manufacturing 100$\mu\textrm{m}$ thick cover layer for the high density digital versatile disc system (HD-DVD), which uses a high numerical aperture of 0.85 at 405 nm wavelength. Spin coating technique was investigated as means for manufacturing the cover layer within sufficient margins of thickness variation and with good mechanical properties including small radial and tangential tilts. The influence of processing variables such as spinning speed, spinning time, and dispensing position was investigated. The effect of viscosity of UV-curable resin was also investigated.

A Study on the Design of the Terminal Repeater System for 565 Mb/s Optical Fiber Transmission (565 Mb/s 광전송용 단국중계장치 설계에 관한 연구)

  • On assuming that the transmission speed of the original information is the fifth-order transmission speed of the Korea digital multiplex hierarchy (564.992Mb/s), this paper proposes a new structure of the transmission line frame at the terminal repeater system, in order to not only maintain and conserve 565Mb/s optical fiber transmission system but also make the B.S.I. of digital communication network for the optical transmission. And the structure uses the mBIZ transmission line code, which is considered the optimal transmission line code of conventional transmission line codes. System hardware of the transmission line frame structure proposed in this paper is consisted by a method of pulse stuffing after converting the speed of the original information signal sequence at the terminal repeater system for 565Mb/s optical transmission. As a result of this, we can prevent the optical transmission system from a domino phenomenon, the phenomenon of the continuous error multiplication of systems by the transmission error, and suppress timing jitter and the identical consecutive digit number. And also we can improve SNR of the optical transmission system about 2dB because of raising total BER at the optical terminal system up to 10.
