  • Recently because of development of technology the old cultural properties and damaged artworks are stored as digital information using digital technology and produced related contents as well as moving images or digital contents. The regenerated information and contents through digital technology conveys correct information of ancient art and helps audiences appreciate it, as well as it also stores accurate information and can be used for restoration and preservation of the work. In this study, the range of digital restoration was defined in three directions, and the exhibition of digital content with an ancillary role that can be useful the understanding of the heritage of nature and mankind using digital technology was defined as the range of digital restoration. In addition, the Ojukheon Museum in Kangneung and The Museum of Natural History in New York, which installed various digital displays to analyze and compare the types of digital display exhibitions used for digital restoration of the range, were described as examples. Through this, it was discovered that digital display exhibitions for digital restoration can effectively deliver information and stimulate participation and interest of visitors in the museums, which is able to be a positive way to preserve the heritage of nature and mankind.

  • Digital curation which maintains digital information over time and adds value becomes, nowadays, one of the important business process in the special libraries. This study is to investigate the business practice level of the digital curation in the special libraries and the librarians' perception on the importancy of digital curation. In results, it is found that most librarian, in general, think that the level of digital curation practice in the special libraries is insufficiency. Also, the study finds that the librarians of special libraries have difficulties in terms of the lack of willingness and funding problems as well as the lack of long-term policies and suitable business procedures; they only focus the cycle of information organization-information storage-information use among the 8 processes of digital curation; they need to recognize the importance of digital preservation as one of the essential process of digital curation and make effort to extend technological capacity of digital preservation.

  • Huge amount of useful information is getting added to the academic digital world everyday, This digitalized information is heterogeneous and remained limited to a local domain only. How to integrate and share this scattered knowledge with simplicity remained a big challenge. In this paper, we propose a prototype of web application for accomplishing above task using web 2.0 features; it makes traditional academic digital libraries to form as a special case of collaborative environment. This application enables users to customize their own resources to form their own virtual digital library. Further users can utilize personalized information of other users working in similar research domain to form true collaborative environment. The model and framework for the new look of academic digital library is presented.

  • In this paper, we present a very useful method for updating digital satellite radio broadcast channel information. When a devices equipped with function to receive Digital Satellite Radio such as Home Theater, MP3 player, mobile phones, car audio system and various other types of Digital Devices, receives new Digital satellite radio (will be mentioned as XM radio onwards) broadcast channel information, only the current received XM radio broadcast channel and N number of pre/post nearby broadcast channels are scanned randomly in zigzag manner. Then the previous XM radio broadcast channel information updated with the newly received XM radio broadcast channel information. Since this method can prevent batch update for all XM radio channel, including some channels which less likely did not select by user, update process for real time frequently changed XM radio broadcast channel information can be performed efficiently with minimal or without delay.

  • We proposed "Table Mediator" which is a tabletop system for digital storytelling that uses web-retrieved information for the students' educational field trip. Students can perform their storytelling for their virtual pre-field trip to build up a sequential path as a story with web-retrieved documents, satellite images, geographical information, and group discussion. The proposed system was designed to lessen the limitation of individual interaction such as restricted viewpoint and biased inclination by group digital storytelling. Local interactions also have the limitation such as insufficient information and knowledge and the system supplied the rich live information such as subjective critiques or recently discovered history, or new updates for building a story that makes users arrange their own idea as a consistent story to lessen the limitation of the local interactions. The system can be used for various applications such as travel, education and other collaborative works with group interaction.

  • With the advancement of Internet technology, traditional libraries are going through a new metamorphosis into digital libraries. Digital libraries substitute digital files for papers, metadata for catalogues, world wide users on the network for localized patrons, while offering limitless possibilities for easy downloading of information. The aim of the study is to present a model for our digital library based on the knowledge acquired from the analysis of the state of the art technology employed in building and managing digital libraries. It is our belief that the national information infrastructure for digital libraries are mandatory for an open information society.

  • The digital government is one of the most significant areas of study to emerge in information science in the past several years. The digital government is, in broad terms, a computerized system that allows a community of users to obtain a coherent means of access to an organized, electronically stored repository of information and knowledge. The information resources and technologies embodied by the World Wide Web are now accepted ad the primary example of the digital government. The need exists for a means to measure user success in the digital government. Because a digital government environment involves two broad functions?1) information search and retrieval and 2) interactivity with and through the medium-this research posits that measures of both of these functions will show positive correlation with user success.
