Effective transmission system of multimedia services using Eureka-147 DAB (Eureka-147 DAB를 통한 멀티미디어 서비스의 효율적인 전송시스템)

  • DAB(Digital Audio Broadcasting)는 고품질의 오디오뿐만 아니라 멀티미디어 데이터 서비스를 제공할 수 있는 새로운 국제표준이다. 본 논문에서는 Eureka-147 DAB를 통해 멀티미디어 데이터를 효율적으로 전송하기 위한 방안으로 DAB의 다중화 구조와 MPEG-2와 MPEG-4 시스템 규격을 이용하여 미디어들 간의 동기화와 다중화 기능을 제공할 수 있는 전송프레임 구조를 제안하고, 실험을 통하여 각 프레임 구조에 대한 성능을 비교·평가하였다. 특히 DAB의 다중화와 중복되는 MPEG 시스템의 기능을 제거하여 다중화 프레임 구조의 효율성을 향상시키는 방안들을 제시하고, 이를 비교·분석하였다. 또한 구현한 시스템을 이용하여 멀티미디어데이터를 다양한 환경의 채널을 통해 전송할 때 전송 오류의 영향을 측정하고 평가하였다.

  • 재난경보방송시스템에서 오디오 방송은 여러 가지 형태의 통신망을 이용하여 서비스되고 있다. 상용전화망, 이동통신망, 무선자가망 등이 있으나 오디오 동시방송이라는 요구는 충족하지 못하는 것이 사실이다. 또한, 아날로그 기반의 통신으로 오디오 품질이 만족스럽지 못한 편이다. 본 논문에서는 다양한 통신망에서 재난정보 서비스를 수행할 수 있는 재난경보방송시스템 모델을 제시하며, 이더넷과 같은 디지털 통신망 기반의 오디오 동시방송을 위한 솔루션을 연구 개발하였다. 방송송신설비 및 IP 교환기와 같은 하드웨어 요소를 제외하여 구축비용에 대한 부담을 줄이고, 통신 대역폭이 보장될 경우 실시간 동시방송이 가능하도록 설계하였다. 오디오 송신은 공개된 라이브러리를 사용하여 윈도우 기반의 소프트웨어 구조를 가지며, 오디오 수신은 임베디드 장치 기반으로 임베디드 리눅스에서 수신하고 재생할 수 있도록 구현하였다.

  • This paper describes the functions and design technology of the T-DMB (Terrestrial Digital Multimedia Broadcasting) receiver. T-DMB is a novel broadcasting media that can provide high-quality video and audio services. In this paper, we will describe the VLSI implementation of RF, Baseband and Multimedia Chip for T-DMB Receiver. The designed DMB SoC has low power consumption and has been implemented using a standard-cell library in 0.18um CMOS technology.

  • Recently, as digital broadcasting and internet are spreaded out of the world, we can easily use informations with less restrictions of time and space. According to the current trends, concerns for the ways of representing multimedia data has been rapidly increased, and users demand the services with integrated document that takes not only simple text and image but also time varying audio-visual data. Therefore, in 1998, W3C presented an international standard, SMIL in order to solve multimedia object representation and synchronization problems. By using SMIL, various multimedia elements can be integrated as a multimedia document with proper view in a space and time. Using this SMIL document, we can create new internet radio broadcasting service that delivers not only audio data but also various text, image and video. In this paper, we describe on a SMIL document editor for the common users to be able to represent time varying multimedia data with special layout and synchronization of time and space.

  • In this paper, the possibility and necessity of the digital broadcasting propulsion in AM and FM is presented based on DRM and DRM+ transmission modes, They are the members of series technological family in digital radio development. As the frequency utilization, the application of DRM+ is flexible in any mode such as IN-BAND or OUT-OF-BAND. When the digital audio broadcasting is planned at LOW-VHF bandwidth such as TV channel No.5 and NO.6 being adjacent to FM band and OUT-Of-BAND DRM+ technology is applied, there is no collision and jamming. Particularly, in the IN-BAND Hybrid mode, it is mentioned that there was the difficulty problem for multiple SFN transmitters uses. Not like the IN-BAND mode the OUT-OF-BAND mode lets multiple transmitters, because neighbor transmitters do not interfere each other. Digital transmitter can be combined with the existing FM transmitter. The intensity of power and size of area can be easily determined according to local broadcasters' condition. And the OUT-OF-BAND mode is advantageous for AM/FM integration in digital radio receiver manufacturing, which makes the conversion schedule much shorter.

A Study on Design and Implementation of Low Noise Amplifier for Satellite Digital Audio Broadcasting Receiver (위성 DAB 수신을 위한 저잡음 증폭기의 설계 및 구현에 관한 연구)

  • In this paper, a LNA(Low Noise Amplifier) has been developed, which is operating at L-band i.e., 1452∼1492 MHz for satellite DAB(Digital Audio Brcadcasting) receiver. The LNA is designed to improve input and output reflection coefficient and VSWR(Voltage Standing Wave Ratio) by balanced amplifier. The LNA consists of low noise amplification stage and gain amplification stage, which make a using of GaAs FET ATF-10136 and VNA-25 respectively, and is fabricated by hybrid method. To supply most suitable voltage and current, active bias circuit is designed Active biasing offers the advantage that variations in $V_P$ and $I_{DSS}$ will not necessitate a change in either the source or drain resistor value for a given bias condition. The active bias network automatically sets $V_{gs}$ for the desired drain voltage and drain current. The LNA is fabricated on FR-4 substrate with RF circuit and bias circuit, and integrated in aluminum housing. As a reults, the characteristics of the LNA implemented more than 32 dB in gain. 0.2 dB in gain flatness. lower than 0.95 dB in noise figure, 1.28 and 1.43 each input and output VSWR, and -13 dBm in $P_{1dB}$.

  • 본 논문에서는 PC 환경에서 지상파 디지털 멀티미디어 방송(Digital Multimedia Broadcasting, DMB)을 수신할 수 있는 PC 기반 지상파 DMB 수신기용 백엔드 시스템 개발에 대해 서술한다. 지상파 DMB는 기존의 지상파 아날로그 또는 디지털 TV에 비해 탁월한 이동 수신 성능을 보인다. 본 논문에서는 국내 지상파 DMB 표준안에 부합하는 수신기의 백엔드 (back-end)를 PC 환경에서 소프트웨어로 구현하였다. 지상파 DMB는 유럽의 디지털 오디오 방송(Digital Audio Broadcasting, DAB) 표준인 EUREKA-147을 기반으로 MPEG-4 표준에 의한 멀티미디어 서비스를 제공한다. 지상파 DMB의 멀티미디어 서비스는 MPEG-4 AVC(Advance Video Coding) 압축 비디오와 BSAC(Bit Slice Arithmetic Coding) 압축 오디오를 MPEG-4 시스템의 SL(Sync Layer) 표준으로 패킷화 후 MPEG-2 TS(Transport Stream)에 실어 DAB의 스티림 모드를 통해 전송하는 방식을 사용한다. 본 논문에서는, 지상파 DMB 수신을 위한 프론트엔드(front-end)는 외장형 기기를 이용하고, 이로부터 USB 인터페이스를 통해 기저대역 다중화 스트림을 PC 상으로 업로드한 뒤, 소프트웨어에 의해 역다중화하고 압축을 푼 후, 오디오와 비디오를 재생하는 지상파 DMB 백엔드 시스템을 구현하고 이를 검증하였다.

  • This article takes the talk show "Beast Town" as an example to introduce the overall technical solution, technical difficulties and countermeasures for the combination of cartoon virtual characters and virtual studio technology, providing reference and experience for the multi-scenario application of digital humans. Compared with the live broadcast that combines reality and reality, we have further upgraded our virtual production technology and digital human-driven technology, adopted industry-leading real-time virtual production technology and monocular camera driving technology, and launched a virtual cartoon character talk show - "Beast Town" to achieve real Perfectly combined with virtuality, it further enhances program immersion and audio-visual experience, and expands infinite boundaries for virtual manufacturing. In the talk show, motion capture shooting technology is used for final picture synthesis. The virtual scene needs to present dynamic effects, and at the same time realize the driving of the digital human and the movement with the push, pull and pan of the overall picture. This puts forward very high requirements for multi-party data synchronization, real-time driving of digital people, and synthetic picture rendering. We focus on issues such as virtual and real data docking and monocular camera motion capture effects. We combine camera outward tracking, multi-scene picture perspective, multi-machine rendering and other solutions to effectively solve picture linkage and rendering quality problems in a deeply immersive space environment. , presenting users with visual effects of linkage between digital people and live guests.

Design of a Multi-Band and Wide-Band Antenna for a Portable Broadcasting Terminal (휴대 방송용 단말기에 적합한 다중 대역 및 광대역 안테나 설계)

  • The multi-band and wide-band antenna for a portable broadcasting terminal is proposed. The proposed antenna consists of two radiators with a parallel structure. The antenna has an enough wide impedance bandwidth for the DVB-H(Digital Video Broadcasting-Handheld) service band since two radiators have adjacent resonance frequencies and operates in the DAB(Digital Audio Broadcasting) service band using the third harmonic of the radiator 1. The fabricated antenna has VSWR characteristics of less than 2:1 in the frequency band $470{\sim}740\;MHz$ for DVB-H and $1,450{\sim}1,480\;MHz$ for DAB. The measured peak gain of the antenna is $1.97{\sim}4.10\;dBi$ in the DVB-H band and $1.98{\sim}2.04\;dBi$ in the DAB band.

PSIP Converter based on PMCP for Terrestrial/Cable Data Broadcasting Retransmission Service (지상파/케이블 데이터방송 재전송 서비스를 위한 PMCP 기반 PSIP 변환기)

  • In this paper, we implemented a terrestrial/cable PSIP converting system, so-called a PSIP converter, which is converting a terrestrial PSIP into a cable PSIP for a data broadcasting service in the interoperable network of terrestrial and cable, and define an interface between the PSIP converter and the OOB SI generator by using PMCP messages compliant to ATSC T3/Sl. The exiting PSIP converter just converts a terrestrial PSIP into a cable PSIP compliant to ATSC and OCAP standard and transmits by a MPEG-2 TS format. That is to say, it is not for the digital data broadcasting but for the digital broadcasting. In addition, the PSIP converter can support various types of PSIP information to the OOB SI generator by using PMCP messages defined by a hierarchical structure as per each channel, audio/video event, data event and so on.
