This study presents the mathematical model for predicting chloride penetration into saturated concrete under non-isothermal condition. The model considers not only diffusion mechanism but also migration process of chloride ions and other chemical species in concrete pore solution such as sodium, potassium, and hydroxyl ions. The coupled multi-ionic transport in concrete is described by the Nernst-Planck equation associated with electro-neutrality condition. The coupling parameter taken into account the effect of temperature on ion diffusion obtained from available test data is proposed and explicitly incorporated in the governing equations. The coupled transport equations are solved using the finite element method. The numerical results are validated with available experimental data and the comparison shows a good agreement.

A theoretical model which combines gaseous transport and solid state diffusion with the multi-component equilibrium at the gas/pack and gas/coating interfaces was used to study the kinetics of diffusion aluminide coating. The diffusion aluminide coatings were applied by pack cementation with Ni substrate under argon atmosphere in the high activity and the low activity pack containing $NH_4CL$ or $AlF_3$ activator. On the basis of the process conditions, the suggested model allows the surface composition, the growth rate of coating layers and the aluminium concentration profiles in coatings to be calculated. In the case of $NH_4$Cl activator, careful consideration was required in the analysis, because activator contains nitrogen and hydrogen as well as halogen element to activate the pack. A good agreement is obtained between the theoretical predictions and the experimental results.
For comparison, we used Ca and Mg as reducers to produce TiFe hydrogen stroage alloy from Fe and TiO$_2$by the Reduction-Diffusion process. The results obtained were as follow. \circled1 Ca was found to be effective both for reduction and diffusion processes. Moreover, Ca oxide was easily removed in an NH$_4$Cl solution after the reaction. \circled2 In the case of using Ca as a reducer, the Reduction-Diffusion process is considered to take place in the foiling three steps. First, TiO$_2$is reduced to Ti by Ca over 100$0^{\circ}C$. Second, the atomic Ti drifts in the Ca melt and meets Fe particles. Finally, the atomic Ti diffuses in to the Fe particles. \circled3 In the case of using Mg as a reducer, We found that the reduction reaction of TiO$_2$went well. But the reduced Ti scarcely diffused into Fe particles. This was probably because no Mg melt was formed due to the high vapor pressure of Mg.

A study on the improvement of wear resistance of brasses by electroplating and diffusion treatment of tin was carried out. The optimum condition of the treatment obtained was as follows. Plating thickness of tin : 5 - 9 $\mu\textrm{m}$ Condition of diffusion treatment : atmosphere ; fused nitrate bath (KNO3 + NaNO3) temperature and time ; 1st step 320$^{\circ}C$, 60min. and 450$^{\circ}C$, 30min. During the diffusion treatment, internetallic compounds of Cu-Sn were formed and these compounds were identified as η, $\varepsilon$ and $\delta$ phase from the outer tin layer. It was considered that the improvement of wear resistance of brasses by the treatment is because of the formation of intemetallic compounds particalarly $\varepsilon$phase which is very hard, between soft tin layer brass.
DWI of biological effects are independent of magnetic field strength in various regions. High field strength, however, does affect the signal to noise ratio (SNR) and artifacts of diffusion weighted imaging (DWI) images, which ultimately will influence the quantitative of diffusion imaging. In this study, the effects of field strength on DWI are reviewed. The effects of the diseases also are discussed. Comparing DWI in cerebellum, WM, GM, Hyperacute region measurements both as a function of field strength (1.5T and 3.0T). Overall, the SNR of the DWI roughly doubled going from 1.5 T to 3.0 T. In summary, DWI studies at 3.0 T is provided significantly improved DWI measurements relative to studies at 1.5T.

This work is an attempt to design a dynamic model for a non local bio-thermoelastic medium with diffusion. The system of governing equations are formulated in terms of displacement vector field, chemical potential and the tissue temperature in the context of non local dual phase lag (NL DPL) theories of heat conduction and mass diffusion. Based on this considered model, we study the fundamental solution and propagation of plane harmonic waves in tissues. In order to analyze the behavior of the NL DPL model, we construct basic theorem in the terms of elementary function which determine the existence of three longitudinal and one transverse wave. The effects of various parameters on the characteristics of waves i.e., phase velocity and attenuation coefficients are elaborated by plotting various figures of physical quantities in the later part of the paper.

While text-to-image models have made remarkable progress in image synthesis, certain models, particularly generative diffusion models, have exhibited a noticeable bias to- wards generating images related to the culture of some developing countries. This paper introduces an empirical investigation aimed at mitigating the bias of image generative model. We achieve this by incorporating symbols representing Saudi culture into a stable diffusion model using the Dreambooth technique. CLIP score metric is used to assess the outcomes in this study. This paper also explores the impact of varying parameters for instance the quantity of training images and the learning rate. The findings reveal a substantial reduction in bias-related concerns and propose an innovative metric for evaluating cultural relevance.
This research deals with the study of two-dimensional deformation in transversely isotropic thermoelastic diffusion medium. This investigation integrates the effect of diffusion and thermal effects in transversely isotropic thermoelastic solids under inclined load. Inclined load is taken as linear combination of normal load and tangential load. Laplace and Fourier transformation techniques are employed to transform the physical domain and then transformed solutions are inverted with the aid of numerical inversion techniques. Concentrated and distributed load are considered to exemplify its utility. Graphical representation of variation in displacement, stresses, temperature and concentration distribution with distance is depicted by taking inclination at different angles. Some particular cases are studied.
High performance concrete mixes are selected and corresponding test specimens are made for the study of chloride diffusion coefficient at reference time. The concrete mixes were same designs as those used in construction of bridges located in a marine environment. Mix design variables included binder type, water-to-binder ratio, mineral admixtures to total binder weight substitution ratio, fine aggregate source, chemical water reducer admixture type for high strength and high flowability, and target slump or slump flow. The test results showed that the diffusion coefficients at reference time varied significantly according to the type of mineral admixtures and their substitution ratios. A model for diffusion coefficient at reference time considering the type of mineral admixture and the substitution ratio was developed. Diffusion coefficients from the developed model were compared with those from literature review, a previous model, and additional test results. All of the comparisons verified that the developed model can reasonably predict diffusion coefficients and the application of the model to the durability design against chloride penetration is appropriate.

Studies were made on differences among types and varieties of rice in stomatal density and gas diffusion resistance, and on the relationship between these traits and photosynthetic rate. Significant differences among types and varieties were found stomatal density and gas diffusion resistance. Generally, stomatal density was higher in indica varieties than in Japonica varieties, gas diffusion resistance was lower in the former than in the later, in varieties developed through indica-japonica hybridization it was intermadiate. The stomatal density was closely positively correlated with the gas conductivity and the net photosynthetic rate, was not correlated with single leaf area, and had significant negative correlation with specific leaf weight. Higher photosynthetic rate of indica varieties mainly results from its high stomatal density and low gas diffusion resistance. The result also suggested that high photosynthetic rate might be obtained if the high stomatal density and low gas diffusion resistance in indica could be combined with the larger specific leaf weight in japonica through crossing between two.
