Development of a Virtual Reference Station-based Correction Generation Technique Using Enhanced Inverse Distance Weighting

  • Existing Differential GPS (DGPS) pseudorange correction (PRC) generation techniques based on a virtual reference station cannot effectively assign a weighting factor if the baseline distance between a user and a reference station is not long enough. In this study, a virtual reference station DGPS PRC generation technique was developed based on an enhanced inverse distance weighting method using an exponential function that can maximize a small baseline distance difference due to the dense arrangement of DGPS reference stations in South Korea, and its positioning performance was validated. For the performance verification, the performance of the model developed in this study (EIDW) was compared with those of typical inverse distance weighting (IDW), first- and second-order multiple linear regression analyses (Planar 1 and 2), the model of Abousalem (1996) (Ab_EXP), and the model of Kim (2013) (Kim_EXP). The model developed in the present study had a horizontal accuracy of 53 cm, and the positioning based on the second-order multiple linear regression analysis that showed the highest positioning accuracy among the existing models had a horizontal accuracy of 51 cm, indicating that they have similar levels of performance. Also, when positioning was performed using five reference stations, the horizontal accuracy of the developed model improved by 8 ~ 42% compared to those of the existing models. In particular, the bias was improved by up to 27 cm.

기준국을 이용한 실내·외 절대 고도 산출 및 3D 항법 (Absolute Altitude Determination for 3-D Indoor and Outdoor Positioning Using Reference Station)

  • 본 논문은 3D 위치 정보를 산출하기 위한 기압고도계 및 기준국을 이용한 절대 고도 측정 정확도 향상에 관한 연구이다. GPS와 같은 위성 항법 시스템이 신뢰성이 있는 절대 고도를 제공하지 못하는 점과 기압 고도계가 변화하는 대기압의 특성상 절대 고도 정보를 제공하지 못한다는 문제점을 인식하고, 이를 개선하기 위해 새로운 기법을 제안하였다. 제안된 기법을 검증하기 위해 RTK를 활용한 기준국을 지정하고 시중에 판매하는 압력 센서 및 EVK 단말기를 활용하였으며, 실내 외에서의 사람의 이동으로 인한 고도 변화 실험과 차량을 이용한 이동 실험을 통해 검증하였다. 이 논문의 결과는 기준국을 이용하는 기존의 2D 측위 시스템을 간단히 3D 측위 시스템으로 확장할 수 있는 저가 솔루션을 제공할 수 있음을 보였다.

  • 본 연구는 RTK-GPS (Real Time Kinematic-Global Positioning System) 측위법을 이용한 변위 계측 결과, 가속도계를 이용한 변위계측 결과, 그리고 LVDT(Linear variable differential transformer)의 변위계측 결과를 비교하여 RTK-GPS와 가속도계 센서를 구조물에 적용할 때의 문제점들을 파악하였다. 또한, 관측빈도와 측위 정확도를 향상시킨 RTK-GPS와 가속도계를 이용한 변위계측 결과를 통합 계산하여 절대변위인 LVDT와 비교를 통해 생성된 통합 변위의 정확도와 타당성을 확인하였다.

네트워크 기반의 GPS 반송파 상대측위 정확도 향상 (Accuracy Enhancement using Network Based GPS Carrier Phase Differential Positioning)

  • GPS의 3차원 위치결정은 코드파와 반송파를 이용한다. 하지만 이동체에 대한 cm 수준의 정확도를 획득하기 위해서는 정확한 기지점의 성과를 이용한 GPS 반송파 상대측위, 즉 RTK-GPS 기법을 수행하여야 한다. 이 때 두 대의 수신기 사이의 거리가 증가할수록 기선장에 따른 오차가 증가하여 기준국과 사용자 수신기의 거리를 $10{\sim}20km$ 정도로 제한하고 있다. 따라서 사용자는 깊은 내륙, 연안 해역 등과 같은 기준국과 이동체의 이격이 수십 km로 증대되는 지역에서는 기준국 설치의 문제를 포함하고 있으며 독자적인 기준국을 설치하여야 하는 인력 및 장비의 부담을 가지게 된다. 이를 극복하기 위해 본 연구에서는 네트워크 기반의 GPS 반송파 상대측위 방식을 제안하였으며 GPS 네트워크 처리 프로그램인 DAUNet을 개발하였다. 기선장에 따른 오차보정량 산출을 위해 선형보간알고리즘 방식에 기반한 함수모델과 통계모델을 제시하였으며, 오차보정량의 보간은 면보정매개변수 방식을 제안하였다. 기존 단일기준국 방식은 기선장에 따른 오차를 소거하지 못하였지만 본 연구에서는 사용자 수신기와 평균 30km 떨어진 3대의 기준국을 이용하여 기선장에 따른 오차보정량을 소거 혹은 감소시킬 수 있었다. 따라서 사용자는 네트워크 기반의 GPS 반송파 상대측위 방식을 이용하여 이동체에 대한 10cm 이하 수준의 정확도를 획득할 수 있었다.

Receiver DCB Estimation and Analysis by Types of GPS Receiver

  • This paper analyzes that the global positioning system (GPS) receiver differential code bias (DCB) has effect on the estimation the ionosphere total electron content (TEC). The data from nine permanent GPS sites of the Korea Astronomy and Space Science Institute (KASI) were used for the estimation of the receiver DCB before (Trimble 4000 SSi) and after (Trimble NetRS) the receiver replacement, using the singular value decomposition method. The results showed that the estimated mean value of the receiver DCB varied from 0.11 ns (nanosecond) to 7.54 ns before the receiver replacement, but the receiver DCBs shoed large values than 20 ns except some stations after the replacement. The receiver DCB showed a relatively large difference by types of the receivers, and, as a result, it had a great effect on the estimation the ionosphere TEC using GPS.

Antenna Radiation Efficiency of the Korean NDGPS Based on Radiation Power Measurements

  • The differential global positioning system (DGPS) transmits a GPS enhancement signal using a top-loaded monopole antenna in the medium frequency range. The top-loaded antenna in the medium frequency band can attain a radiation efficiency on the order of 10%. The antenna ground plane characteristics affect the antenna radiation efficiency. To improve the radiation efficiency, it is necessary to install the antenna on a ground plane with large enough physical dimensions and good conductivity. The antenna radiation efficiency is a primary factor in determining the DGPS service area. The service area of the DGPS using a medium frequency band is dominantly affected by the antenna radiation efficiency. To determine antenna radiation efficiencies accurately, the antenna radiation efficiencies of DGPS are deduced from the propagation power in this paper. Based on the deduced antenna radiation efficiencies, the service area for the Korean nationwide-DGPS is analyzed and evaluated.

  • A fuzzy logic controller(FLC) was developed for the autonomous travel of speedsprayer in an orchard. The autonomous travel with the FLC was graphically simulated under the conditions of an ordinary standard orchard. Differential global positioning system(DGPS) was used to find the direction of running and four ultrasonic sensors were used to detect obstacles during the running. The simulation results showed that the speedsprayer, by the FLC combined with DGPS and the ultrasonic sensors. could overcome the turning problem at comers which could not be solved with such a system as machine vision and might be operated autonomously.

  • The ambiguity resolution is an essential task for the precise carrier phase differential GPS. In practice, however, there are still many problems in resolving the ambiguity in kinematic mode, especially in the urban areas. The multipath in received signal, the frequent change in visible satellites, and the cyclic slips make the ambiguity resolution very difficult task in real-time operation. In this paper, we consider a differential positioning with the float ambiguity that is free from the integer constraint. The float ambiguity estimation if carried out by the Kalman filter. The float and fixed ambiguities are combined together to determine the position in real-time kinematic mode.

스트라이프 문양과 의복스타일에 따른 이미지 차이와 포지셔닝 연구 (The Study of the Image and Positioning according to Stripe Pattern and Clothing Style)

  • A purpose of this study was to find out how the casual and formal style clothes of stripe pattern giving variety by pattern direction, pattern width, and contrast coloration have an effect on image of wearers. 432 stimuli were made and 2,800 testee evaluated them using semantic differential scale. As a result, five image dimensions were drawn as a factor of attractiveness, activeness, gracefulness, visibility, and tenderness. In consequence of analysing the image difference by stripe pattern and clothing style, the stripe pattern and clothing style affect image presentation as a significant clue. And besides, as a result of positioning stimuli by image, pattern direction, coloration, and tone combination were important clues that decide image. Consequently, clothing style, stripe pattern, and contrast coloration were made clear as an efficient parameter in image presentation of clothing wearers.

Test Results of WADGPS System using Satellite-based Ionospheric Delay Model for Improving Positioning Accuracy

  • Most existing studies on the wide-area differential global positioning system (WADGPS) employed a grid ionosphere model for error correction in the ionospheric delay. The present study discusses the application of satellite-based ionospheric delay model that provides an error model as a plane function with regard to individual satellites in order to improve accuracy in the WADGPS. The satellite-based ionospheric delay model was developed by Stanford University in the USA. In the present study, the algorithm in the model is applied to the WADGPS system and experimental results using measurements in the Korean Peninsula are presented. Around 1 m horizontal accuracy was exhibited in the existing planar fit grid model but when the satellite-based model was applied, correction performance within 1 m was verified.
