An advanced criterion based on non-AFR for anisotropic sheet metals

  • In the current research an advanced criterion with non-associated flow rule (non-AFR) for depicting the behavior of anisotropic sheet metals is presented to consider the strength differential effects (SDEs) for these materials. Owing to the fact that Lou et al. (2013) yield function is dependent on structure of an anisotropic material (BCC, FCC and HCP), an advanced yield function with inspiring of Yoon et al. (2014) yield function is proposed which is dependent upon anisotropic structures. Furthermore, to compute Lankford coefficients, a new pressure sensitive plastic potential function which would be dependent to anisotropic structure is presented and coupled with the proposed yield function with employing a non-AFR in a novel criterion which is called here 'dvanced criterion'. Totally eighteen experimental data are required to calibrate the criterion contained of directional tensile and compressive yield stresses for the yield function and directional Lankford coefficients for the plastic potential function. To verify the criterion, three anisotropic sheet metals with different structures are taken as case studies such as Al 2008-T4 (a BCC material), Al 2090-T3 (a FCC material) and AZ31 (a HCP material).

Preliminary design and inelastic assessment of earthquake-resistant structural systems

  • A preliminary performance-based seismic design methodology is proposed. The top yield displacement of the system is computed from these of the components, which are assumed constant. Besides, a simple procedure to evaluate the top yield displacement of frames is developed. Seismic demands are represented in the form of yield point spectra. The methodology is general, conceptually transparent, uses simple calculations based on first principles and is applicable to asymmetric systems. To consider a specific situation two earthquake levels, occasional and rare are considered. The advantage of an arbitrary assignment of strength to the different components to reduce eccentricities and improved the torsional response of the system is addressed. The methodology is applied to an asymmetric five story building, and the results are verified by push-over analysis and non linear dynamic analysis.

중간재가 질화규소/스테인레스 스틸 접합체의 굽힘강도에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Interlayers on the Bending Strength of Silicon Nitride/Staineless Steel Joints)

  • The reactions between an active metal brazing alloy and interlayers together with the effects of interlayer type on the interfacial microstructure change were investiaged for silicon nitride/stainless steel joint. The bending strengths were measured for joints with Mo, Cu, Ni interlayer type of different thicknesses. It was found that the interlayer with a low yield strength value is effective to improve the bending strength of the Si3N4/stainless steel joint. The maximum joint strength obtained at room temperature for a laminated Cu/Mo interlayer was about 460 MPa. The combined use of Mo and thin Cu layer was found to be effective in enhancing the bending strength for the Si3N4/S.S.316 joint.

An elastoplastic model for structured clays

  • An elastoplastic model for structured clays, which is formulated based on the fact that the difference in mechanical behavior of structured and reconstituted clays is caused by the change of fabric in the post-yield deformation range, is present in this paper. This model is developed from an elastoplastic model for overconsolidated reconstituted clays, by considering that the variation in the yield surface of structured clays is similar to that of overconsolidated reconstituted clays. However, in order to describe the mechanical behavior of structured clays with precision, the model takes the bonding and parabolic strength envelope into consideration. Compared with the Cam-clay model, only two new parameters are required in the model for structured clays, which can be determined from isotropic compression and triaxial shear tests at different confining pressures. The comparison of model predictions and results of drained and undrained triaxial shear tests on four different marine clays shows that the model can capture reasonable well the strength and deformation characteristics of structured clays, including negative and positive dilatancy, strain-hardening and softening during shearing.

보리배비재배에 미치는 에치렌작용과 도복방지 및 증수에 관한 연구 (Studeis on the Effect of Ethylene-Releasing Agents in Increasing Grain Yield of Barley With Higher Nitrogen Application)

  • 경기도 부평군 소사(부천)에 가을 보리 품종 "칠보" 를 그리고 경북 칠곡군 동명에 품종 "제천 5초"를 각각 재식하고 각 지구에 보비 및 배비구를 설치하여 ethylene깨스 발생제인 Ethrel과 dl-methionine의 단응 또는 혼용으로 농도별 엽면살포를 하여 다음 결과를 얻었다. 1. Ethrel은 보리초장을 작게 하는데 그 농도가 더함에 따라서 더욱 작아졌으며 이것은 지엽에서 이삭의 기부까지의 길이 즉 출수도가 작아짐으로서 이루어진 것이다. 2. 보리의 초장이 작을수록 도복은 적었으나 수장과 1000립중이 따라서 적어지며 결국 종실중 수량이 감소되었다. 3. 질소의 보비 및 배비의 무처리는 모두 도복되었는데 Ethrel 500ppm처리에서는 전혀 도복을 볼 수 없었고 도복된 무처리에 비하여 약 10%증수를 나타내었다. 4. 배비의 효과는 보비보다 초장을 좀더 길게하는 데 있었고 배비가 오히려 보비보다 수량이 적은 편이였다. 5. Ethrel보완제로서의 dl-methionine처리는 보리의 왜화효과에 영향을 주지 않았으며 오히려 감수를 초래하였다. 우리나라 현 보리생산과 경제성의 관념에 입각하여 ethylene에 의한 왜화재배로 다비재배의 가능성과 증수재배의 전망을 논의하였다.능성과 증수재배의 전망을 논의하였다.

템퍼링에 따른 Cu 첨가 고강도강의 미세조직과 기계적 특성 (Effects of Tempering Treatment on Microstructure and Mechanical Properties of Cu-Bearing High-Strength Steels)

  • The present study deals with the effects of tempering treatment on the microstructure and mechanical properties of Cu-bearing high-strength steels. Three kinds of steel specimens with different levels of Cu content were fabricated by controlled rolling and accelerated cooling, ; some of these steel specimen were tempered at temperatures ranging from $350^{\circ}C$ to $650^{\circ}C$ for 30 min. Hardness, tensile, and Charpy impact tests were conducted in order to investigate the relationship of microstructure and mechanical properties. The hardness of the Cu-added specimens is much higher than that of Cu-free specimen, presumably due to the enhanced solid solution hardening and precipitation hardening, result from the formation of very-fine Cu precipitates. Tensile test results indicated that the yield strength increased and then slightly decreased, while the tensile strength gradually decreased with increasing tempering temperature. On the other hand, the energy absorbed at room and lower temperatures remarkably increased after tempering at $350^{\circ}C$; and after this, the energy absorbed then did not change much. Suitable tempering treatment remarkably improved both the strength and the impact toughness. In the 1.5 Cu steel specimen tempered at $550^{\circ}C$, the yield strength reached 1.2 GPa and the absorbed energy at $-20^{\circ}C$ showed a level above 200 J, which was the best combination of high strength and good toughness.

이종강종을 사용한 고강도 CFT 합성부재의 구조성능 (Structural Performance of High-Strength Concrete-Filled Steel Tube Steel Columns using Different Strength Steels)

  • 플랜지와 웨브에 서로 강도가 다른 이종강재를 사용한 CFT 합성구조의 거동특성을 파악하기 위하여, 플랜지는 건축용 800MPa급 강재인 HSA800, 웨브에는 일반강도 강재인 SM490 강재를 사용하여 실험연구를 수행하였다. 주요실험 변수는 강관의 강도 조합, 충전된 콘크리트의 강도, 콘크리트 충전효과이다. 이종강재간의 용접접합부는 낮은강도 강재에 적합한 용접부를 사용하여 접합부 성능을 검증하였다. 실험체의 거동특성을 평가하기 위해 편심압축 실험을 수행하였으며, 현행 설계기준들에 따른 예측결과와 비교하였다. 플랜지에 고강도 강재를 적용함에 따라 단면의 축강도 및 휨모멘트강도가 증가하였으며, 부재 강도를 충분히 발현한 이후 용접부에서 파괴가 일어났다. 실험결과 현행 설계기준을 적용하여 합성단면의 축력-모멘트 상관관계 및 유효휨강성을 안전측으로 예측 가능하였다.

경사못이 적용된 CLT-콘크리트 접합부의 하중전달능력 (Load Bearing Capacity of CLT - Concrete Connections with Inclined Screws)

  • Load bearing capacity of dowel type fasteners loaded perpendicular to the shear plane is determined based on Johansen's yield theory (Johansen, 1949). In case of inclined screws whose axis is no longer perpendicular, the ultimate load of connection increases because of additional axial withdrawal capacity. To calculate load bearing capacity for inclined screws, KBC2016 and Eurocode5 provide design equations using the combination of two effects; axial and bending strength. Although their equations have been validated for a long time, there is still minimal information how to apply them for concrete-CLT joints. Since there are not many test data available, engineers have to make certain assumptions and thus results may look inconsistent in practice. In this paper, authors would like to describe the current approach and assumptions indicated by KBC2016 and Eurocode 5 and how they match the experimental results in terms of shear strength of CLT-concrete connections. To fulfill the objective, several push-out tests were performed on nine different test specimens. Each specimen has different penetration angles and depths. By analyzing load-displacement curves, the maximum shear strength, stiffness, and ductility were obtained. Shear strength values were compared with the current design codes and theoretical equations proposed in this paper. Observations on stiffness and ductility were briefly discussed.

건축구조용 냉간성형 강관의 가공성능 평가 (Evaluation of Forming Performance of Cold Rolled Steel Pipes & Tubes for Building Structure)

  • SN 강재를 건축구조용으로 사용하기 위해서는 설계기준강도가 제정되어야 한다. 선행 연구로써, SN400B/490B 후판재로 재판한 SN400B/490B 원형강관과 SPAP235/325 및 SPAR295 각형강관의 물성을 평가하였다. SN400B/490B 후판재와 비교했을 때 STKN400B/490B 원형강관의 항복인장 및 인장강도는 상승하였지만, 제조 프로세스에 무관하게 STKN400B/490B 원형강관의 규격을 만족 하였다. 그러나 SPAP235/325 각형강관 모서리부에서의 항복인장 및 인장강도는 규격을 벗어났다. 이것은 SPAP235/325 각형강관 규격에서 정하고 있는 값이 모서리부에서의 값이 아니라 변에서의 값이기 때문이다. STKN490B 원형강관에 발생한 최대 인장잔류응력은 모재 항복강도 수준이며, 최대 압축잔류응력은 모재 항복강도의 40% 수준이었다. 또한 SPAP325 각형강관에 발생한 최대 인장잔류응력과 최대 압축잔류응력은 모두 모재 항복강도의 80% 수준이었다. 중심압축실험을 한 결과 STKN490B 원형강관의 좌굴강도는 제조 프로세스에 관계없이 별 차이를 보이지 않았다. 그러나 각형강관의 경우는 SPAP325 각형강관이 SN490B로 built-up한 각형강관보다 좌굴강도가 높게 나타났다.

면섬유에 대한 Methyl Methacrylate의 유화 그라프트 중합 (Emulsion Graft Copolymerization of Methyl Methacrylate onto Cotton Fiber)

  • Emulsion graft copolymerization of MMA onto cotton fiber using Ce(IV) salt as an initiator was carried out. Graft yield and graft efficiency were observed according to the kinds and concentrations of emulsifier and polymerization conditions. The physical properties of MMA grafted cotton fabric were investigated. The results of this study were as follows: 1. The heighest graft yield of emulsion graft polymerization occurred at the concentration below cmc of emulsifier, which was different from emulsion polymerization. Nonionic sur- factant as an emulsifier was more effective than anionic one. 2. The highest graft yield was obtained at the initiator concentration $1{\times}10^{-2}mol/l$. The viscometric molecular weight of PMMA was in the order of 106. 3. As reaction time increased, the graft yield increased but the graft efficiency decreased. 4. Elevation of reaction temperature resulted in increase of graft yield. The apparent activation energy of MMA graft polymerization was 4.72 Kcal/mol. 5. Physical properties of MMA grafted cotton fabric varied with increase of grafting. Thickness and stiffness showed a noticeable increase, whereas tensile strength and elongation was slightly increased. Crease recovery increased as the graft yield increase up to $50\%$ and decreased thereafter.
