Minimization of Bursting Force at Anchorage Zone Using Prestressing Order for PSC Box Girder Bridge (PSC 박스거더교 정착부의 최소파열력에 대한 강선긴장순서)

  • In this paper, the prestressing order of tendons is studied to minimize a bursting force of an anchorage. The bursting forces is a primary factor of anchorage failures. The forces of the anchorage depend on the prestressing order and size of the tendons, if a lot of tendons are introduced to the anchorage. Many studies have been made to analyze the bursting force of the anchorage. However, the studies have been limited to the bursting forces of the anchorage having one or two tendons. PSC box girder bridges usually have a lot of tendons. And the difference of the bursting forces lies in the prestressing order of the tendons. As a result of the lack of studies on the prestressing order for the bridges, the order depends on the designer's intuition and experiences. It may be stated that this study should be useful for determining the reasonable prestressing order of tendons for the PSC box girder bridges.

  • In most cases, quantity of reinforcement is determined without regard to the difference of initial strain, and status of damages when calculated the strengthening in flexure at beams. Thus, the purpose of this study is to investigate the flexural strengthening efficiency and behavior of RC beams strengthened with carbon fiber sheets(CFS) considering different status of damages. in this paper, a nonlinear analysis program considering rip-off strength and residual stress of steel bars and concrete in different status of damages is developed to predict the flexural behavior of CFS strengthened beams. Rip-off strength equation is obtained by modifying moment of inertia in the Robert's equation. And conformed developed nonlinear analysis program in variable of strengthening CFS amount and status of damages(initial, case1, case2, case3) and tension reinforcement ratio(0.2~1.0%).

A Study of the Relationship between 3D Model and 3D Garment Simulation

  • This research project investigates the differences of various body locations (between 3D body models) and drapes garments digitally onto 3D body models. Three different subject models will be given explication. It consisted of (1) data collection of three-dimensional scans (2) creation of 3D body representations (3) comparison of avatar shapes and measurements (4) visualization and assessment of 3D body models and their 3D virtual garments. The study tests a theory of impact by differences in avatars by pattern design. A visual inspection of avatars showed clear differences between the six avatar types (in the generating process); however, there was notably less difference between 3D garment simulations based upon the six avatars produced. This demonstrated that there was less influence on the 3D garments than was predicted after a visual inspection of the avatars.

  • Domestic electrical construction inspection system was introduced into building site in 1963 by registered architects' law, meanwhile, inspector appointed by ministry of owners lake charge of Government managing building site. Afterwards several systems has been adopted to heal some problems each of them has revealed. These times Government granted authority for inspection on surveillancer, furthermore, formulate a supervising system which articulate the responsibilities of supervision and put it in effect as of 1st, January, 1994. This supervision system gets rid of factors causing faulty work to a considerable extent. However, as it is still in early stage, the system has various problems to overcome, For example, actual state of handling modifications of design in accordance with supervision system in field shows a difference between process provided by law and field process. Thus this study inquire and analyze actual condition of supervision system, at the same time, problems occuring in modifications of design under supervision, and then propose a way to improve it

  • Recently, the study on mix design of lightweight concrete using the polystyrene foam balls is put into practice from the viewpoint to grade up the quality of concrete and recyclable usage of industrial by products. Polystyrene aggregate concrete, PAC, can be used as structural concrete in low strength application. For instance, PAC could be used in the middle part of sandwich panel where stresses are generally low and in the case of grid-type reinforcement where it does not need high bond strength but little compressive strength to resist the pressure of transverse reinforcement. From this point of view, the authors discussed the influence of fluidity and compressive strength of concrete by the difference of the volume percentage of polystyrene foam balls and water cement ratio.

  • The purpose of this study. was to Identification the Risk of construction method to protect and reduce the risk of construction period. The inspection list usually has the difference of importance because this list is not made by Method which is not focused on Method. We tested Risk occurring frequency and it's strength by checking the level of Risk. To solve and compensate the matter which happened by changing the each Method Check List to each General Inspection List, we added the each Method Check List by checking the importance of check list of each process. By doing this, the Check List for finding Risk level of Method was created by using the check list of each Method.

  • The viscoelastic dampers are considered to be one of the most efficient means of upgrading existing structures against seismic loads. Generally in the dynamic analysis of a structure with added viscoelastic dampers the internal forces of the dampers are represented by constants that are linearly proportional to displacement and velocity. The purpose of this study is to verify the validity of the linear Kelvin model by comparing the results from the linear analysis with those obtained from the more rigorous nonlinear model such as fractional derivative model. According to the results the structural responses of 1-DOF structure obtained using the linear model are very close to those obtained from nonlinear model. However for multi-D0F structure the difference between the results from both models is enlarged as a results of the assumptions associated with the linear modeling of the viscoelastic dampers.

  • The Classification of defected oil-seals using a vision system with the artificial neural network is presented. The artificial neural network fur classification consists of 27 input nodes, 10 hidden nodes, and one output node. The selection of the number of the input nodes is based on an observation that the difference among the defected, non-defected, and smeared oil-seals is greatly pronounced in the 26 step gray-scale level thresholding. The number of the hidden nodes is chosen as a result of a trade-off between accuracy and computing time. The back-propagation algorithm is used for teaching the network. The proposed network is capable of successfully classifying the defected from the smeared oil-seals which tend to be classified as the defected ones using the binary thresholding. It is envisaged that the proposed method improves the reliability and productivity of the automotive vision inspection system.

  • This paper presents a study of a position finding system for a reactor inspection robot. The position of PSD(Position Sensitive Detector) sensor is calculated by the degree of pan-tilt and the difference in height between pan-tilt and PSD. For that, the DSP which control pan-tilt is used for precise operation and the PIC microcontroller process PSD sensor data that indicate light incident position. A user using computer can acquire the conditions of pan-tilt and PSD.

  • When RC beams are strengthened for flexure with steel plate, reinforced member has initial strain due to the dead load and is subject to partial damage. Strain of steel strengthening is zero at initial state. The effect of strengthening flexural member might be influenced by the quantity of initial strain. In this study, when He beams are strengthened for flexure with steel plate, its behavior is experimentally compared for the reinforcement efficiency of members due to the existence of different levels of initial strain. It is confirmed that reinforcement efficiency varies depending on the difference of initial strain.
