4행정 디젤엔진에 연료첨가제 사용에 따른 성능 및 배기배출물 개선에 관한 연구 (Improvement of the performance and emission in a four-stroke diesel engine using fuel additive)

  • 디젤엔진은 다른 엔진과 비교했을 때 열효율이 높고 다양한 연료를 사용할 수 있다는 장점을 가지고 있다. 하지만, 대기오염을 유발하는 배기배출물이 발생한다는 단점도 가지고 있다. 따라서 전 세계적으로 디젤엔진을 사용하는 승용차 및 상용차, 선박 등에 대한 국제규정인 EU Euro 6, IMO MEPC Tier 3 및 US EPA Tier 4 등의 대기환경오염법이 더욱 엄격해져가고 있다. 본 연구에서는 경유를 사용하는 발전용 4행정 디젤엔진을 실험 대상으로 하였으며, 유용성 Ca계 유기금속화합물을 경유에 투입하여 실험 결과를 비교, 분석하였다. Ryu et al. 논문에서는 2행정 디젤엔진에 연료첨가제를 적용했던 연구결과를 발표하였다. 본 논문에서는 4행정 디젤엔진에 연료첨가제를 투입하여 엔진의 성능 및 배기배출물 개선에 대해서 실험을 실시하였다. 본 연구를 통해서 2행정과 4행정 디젤엔진 모두에 연료첨가제를 적용하여 그 결과를 고찰해 볼 수 있었으며 유용성 Ca계 유기금속화합물 연료첨가제가 디젤엔진의 성능(연료소비율, 배기온도) 및 배기배출물(질소 산화물, 일산화탄소)을 개선시킬 수 있음을 확인할 수 있었다.

  • 본 연구에서는 실험적 방법을 통하여 엔진 배기관의 굴곡 형상이 배기 소음에 미치는 영향에 대해서 고찰하였다. 엔진으로는 4기통, 배기량 2164cc의 디이젤 엔진 을 사용하였으며 엔진의 보통 사용 범위인 1200∼3200rpm, 드로틀밸브의 개방도 25∼를 100% 구간에서 실험을 수행하였다. 굴곡부의 형상으로는 대부분의 배기관 굴곡이 원 호 형태임을 고헌하여 원호형의 굴곡관과 관의 꺽임부의 영향을 고찰하기 위한 직각형 굴곡관의 두가지 형태를 택하였따. 각 엔진의 운전 조건에서 굴곡관의 형상 치수를 바꾸어 가며 배기 소음의 음압(sound pressure level, SPL)과 스펙트럼을 얻었으며 이 들을 상호 비교 검토하여 배기관 굴곡 형상의 주요 설계 변수에 의한 배기 소음의 영 향을 고찰하였다.

Characteristics of NOx removal depends on NO conversion to NO$_2$and/or HNO$_3$due to high activation energies for NO oxidation and reduction. NOx removal efficiency by using three-way catalytic with plasma discharger indicated about 50% at 40watt power consumption condition.

  • The principal trends in the course of emission control legislation are reviewed in this paper. In order to keep such a regulation, moreover, an inquiry ito the concrete technical possibility is conducted through review articles, Also, the composition of exhaust gases emitted from a marine diesel engine are investigated as several samples and the measures that can satisfy the value of regulation are handled with laying stress on the control methods discussed to date. It was concluded that various combined systems can be made to reduce NOx emissions without deteriorating substantially navigation costs since many technologies for reducing NOx emissions are being developed. All heat engines suffer from SOx emissions. There are two methods for reducing SOx emissions: desulfurization from exhaust gas and removal of sulfur composition from fuel oil. However it is necessary to watch the development of these technologies to evaluate which method is more favorable. Heat engines have a big problem in the regulation of environmental pollution from exhaust emissions. In the near future, however, diesel engines may be superior to other heat engines, owing to the high thermal efficiency, although the sales of individual models in dises engines may be prosperous and declining.

  • To effectively meet current regulations on the exhaust emissions of diesel engine required to control the deterioration of air pollution in the whole world, this study is to investigate the effects of water induction through the air intake system on the characteristics of combustion and exhaust emissions in IDI diesel engine. A method fur supplying water through the air intake system to reduce the exhaust emissions has been considered with other methods such as water introduction in the form of water-in-fuel emulsion or water injection directly into the combustion chamber, but it has not been studied about the effects of water on the combustion concepts and the characteristics of exhaust emissions in detail until now. In this study, the formation of NOx was significantly suppressed by decreasing the gas peak temperature during the initial combustion process because the water play a role as a heat sink during evaporating in the combustion chamber, but the smoke was slightly increased by increasing water amount.

디젤분진이 사람 동맥 평활근 세포(VSMC)에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Diesel Exhaust Particles on Human Aortic Vascular Smooth Muscle Cells)

  • The purpose of the present study was to examine the effect of diesel exhaust particles on human aortic vascular smooth muscle cells (VSMCs). DNA synthesis, cell viability and morphology of VSMCs after treatment of diesel exhaust particles (DEP) and fine particulate matter (PM$_{2.5}$) were assayed. PM$_{2.5}$ inhibited the DNA synthesis of VSMCs in a concentration -dependent manner, whereat DEP did not affect VSMCs up to 50$\mu\textrm{g}$/mL. These results were confirmed by morphological examination of VSMCs. PM$_{2.5}$ showed a dose-dependent cytotoxicity of VSMCs by MTT assay. Fraction 4 (organic acids) and fraction 8 (moderately polar compounds) showed the most potent inhibition of DNA synthesis of VSMCs, and fraction 7 (slightly polar compounds), fraction 9 (higher polar compounds), and fraction 6 (aromatic compounds) were next order. These results were confirmed by morphological examination of VSMCs. These results suggest that PM$_{2.5}$ inhibits the DNA synthesis of VSMCs through the cytotoxicity.oxicity.
