자동차용 LPG 연료 탱크 밸브의 다이캐스팅 방안의 유동해석 (Diecasting Design for a Fuel Tank Valve of LPG Automobiles by Fluid Flow Simulation)

  • 본 연구에서는 LPG 자동차용 연료탱크 밸브 제조를 위한 주조방안에 대하여 연구하였다. 대상 밸브에는 그 내부에 두 개의 돌기가 존재한다. 돌기 내부에는 기공 결함이 흔히 발생하였다. 이러한 주조 불량을 최소화하기 위하여 대상 제품의 다이캐스팅 과정에서 용탕 흐름에 대한 컴퓨터 시뮬레이션을 수행하였다. 주요 공정 매개변수는 인게이트 위치, 제품 방향 및 주입 속도였다. 또한 진공 다이캐스팅의 사용을 고려하였다. 기공 결함의 위치는 모든 인게이트 위치와 제품 방향에 대해 거의 동일했다. 한편 주입 속도의 변화가 공기 포획의 위치에 영향을 미친다는 것을 알 수 있었다. 진공 다이캐스팅의 경우 기공 결함의 위치는 이전의 경우와 비슷했지만, 실제 상황에서는 진공으로 인해 기포가 많이 줄어들 것으로 예상된다.

  • In this material, a traction motor for light railway vehicle was developed. Aluminium -Diecasting process was selected in order to reduce the manufacturing cost of making rotor bars and rotor rings of the motor, instead of copper or copper alloy rotor bars and rotor rings. And the results of experiment satisfied the international standard IEC 349-2.

0.7wt% CaO 첨가 AZ91D Eco-Mg 다이캐스팅 부품의 미세조직 및 기계적 특성 (Microstructures and Mechanical Properties of Diecast 0.7wt% CaO added Eco-Mg Parts)

  • To prevent oxidation of Mg melt, $SF_6$ gas has been generally used for Mg alloys during melting and casting as a cover gas. The use of $SF_6$ gas, however, will be restricted owing to its crucial impact on global warming. Non-$SF_6$ process during melting and casting in diecasting industry has been proved with Eco-Mg alloys by a simple addition of small amount of CaO into Mg alloys. This paper shows non-$SF_6$ diecasting procedures for 0.7wt% CaO added AZ91D Eco-Mg alloys. Cold-chamber diecasting was performed under $CO_2$ atmosphere without $SF_6$ gas. An increment of mechanical properties, especially strength and ductility of Eco-Mg alloys is, in part, due to high-quality melt, refined grain size and $Al_2Ca$ second phase strengthening. Microstructures and mechanical properties of 0.7wt% CaO added AZ91D Eco-Mg alloys are evaluated in comparison with those of conventional AZ91D Mg alloy.

Al고압주조공법에서 사출슬리브 온도 조절을 통한 Chill layer의 최적 제어 (Optimal Control of Chill layers through Regulation of Temperature on Shot Sleeve in Aluminum High Pressure Diecasting)

  • In this study, the effect of chill layers occurred in shot sleeve on the molten metal filling was analyzed through computer simulation. The behavior of chill layers with temperature variation of shot sleeve set from 200 to $280^{\circ}C$ was also investigated. The simulation results showed the chill layers set in the in-gates during the injection process change the main filling direction and cause turbulent flow pattern, resulting in porosities inside the castings. The amount of chill layers with the increasing temperature of shot sleeve was considerably reduced. Particularly, at the setting temperature of $280^{\circ}C$ by heat control unit, the biggest reduction in chill layers, excellent trimmed surface and the highest density were achieved, suggesting that as the optimal sleeve condition in aluminum high pressure diecasting, especially for highly complex parts like valve body.

  • In modern Automobile Engineers, Modularize of parts is developing tendency that is more effective manufacture system and maintenance, and it also can be bring down the production cost. In this study will expect faults of mold and find the optimum of Casting Condition from the Simulation software (Z-CAST), tensile specimen is attempted for define the basic properties and process condition. In reasult, Diecasting of Seat Motor Housing is expected to be best fitted in Works.

고효율 전동기용 Cu Rotor의 반응고 성형과 공정변수 제어 (Process Control and Thixoforming of Cu Rotor for High Efficiency Motors)

  • Rotor in small-medium induction motor has been usually manufactured by aluminum diecasting. In order to improve the efficiency of induction motors, newly developed Cu-Ca alloys have been investigated. The electrical conductivity in the Cu alloys containing Ca less than $1.0wt\%$ was higher than $80\%$ IACS. Cu-Ca alloy is desirable for the thixoforming process because it has wide semi-solid range over $150^{\circ}C$. In this study, Cu-rotor with thixoforming process was developed to replace the conventional aluminum diecasting rotor. Analysis was performed for the microstructure of thixoforming rotor. Effect of incomplete filling on the efficiency of induction motor was discussed.

입자강화 금속기 복합재료의 고온 피로강도 향상에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Improvement of Fatigue Strength in Particulate Reinforced Metal Matrix Composites at Elevated Temperatures)

  • Fatigue strength of NiAl and Ni$_3$Al particulate reinforced aluminum alloy composites fabricated by the diecasting method was examined at room and elevated temperatures. The results were compared wit h that of SiC particulate reinforced one. The particulate reinforced composites showed some improvement in the static and fatigue strength at elevated temperatures when compared with that of Al alloy. The composites reinforced by intermetallic compound particles showed good fatigue strengths at elevated temperatures especially $Ni_3AI_{p}/Al$ alloy composite showed good fatigue limit up to high temperature of 30$0^{\circ}C$. Adopting intermetallic compound particle as a reinforcement phase, it will be possible to develop MMC representing better fatigue property at elevated temperature.

컴퓨터 시뮬레이션을 이용한 고압다이캐스팅 금형의 이형제 분사공정에 따른 금형온도분포 및 금형수명 예측 (A prediction of mold temperature distribution and lifetime with different spray process of mold release agent in high pressure diecasting mold using computer simulation)

  • The temperature distribution and lifetime of molds were predicted by computer simulation analysis with various spraying and blowing process of high pressure die casting. After varying the spraying angle and time, the mold temperature, heat exchange and mold life were predicted. As the spraying angle increases, the maximum temperature of the mold decreases, which is because the spraying area increases and the heat exchange with the mold increases. Heat exchange occurs more actively in the blowing process than in the spraying process. This is because the cooling is not performed due to the steam generation. When the spraying angle is 50 degree, the minimum life of the mold is analyzed 200 times. After adjusting the blowing time from 5s to 3s, the minimum lifetime of the mold has been increased almost twice.
