  • Authors report a rare case of acute intracranial subdural and intraventricular hemorrhage that were caused by intracranial hypotension resulted from cerebrospinal fluid leakage through an unidentified dural tear site during spinal surgery. The initial brain computed tomography image showed acute hemorrhages combined with preexisting asymptomatic chronic subdural hemorrhage. One burr hole was made over the right parietal skull to drain intracranial hemorrhages and subsequent drainage of cerebrospinal fluid induced by closure of the durotomy site. Among various methods to treat cerebrospinal fluid leakage through unidentified dural injury site, primary repair and spinal subarachnoid drainage are well known treatment options. The brain imaging study to diagnose intracranial hemorrhage should be taken before selecting the treatment method, especially for spinal subarachnoid drainage. Similar mechanism to its spinal counterpart, cranial cerebrospinal fluid drainage has not been mentioned in previous article and could be another treatment option to seal off an unidentified dural tear in particular case of drainage of intracranial hemorrhage is needed.

  • Microwave Radiometry is the spectral measurement of eleclromagnetic radiation at frequency bands in the microwave region. One particular application of Microwave Radiometry is for analyzing temperature difffrentials of inside of human body to detect and diagnose pathologic conditions in which the temperature differentials are related with the symptoms of certain diseases. To accomplish this aim, we propose a new calibration method for estimating subcutaneous temperature by Microwave Radiometer and we also suggest a tumor-imitator phantom structure for simulating heat diffusion propagated by tissues around tumors to evaluate the discernment of brighuless temperature difffrentials.

  • The analysis of heart sounds is a noninvasive diagnostic method useful to diagnose heart valve function. In this paper we compared the ability of spectral analysis method for prosthetic heart valve sounds. Phonocardiograms of prosthetic heart valve were analyzed in order to derive frequency domain feature suitable for the classification of the valve state. The FFT-based methods did not provide sufficient frequency resolution to completely characterize the spectrum of prosthetic heart valve sounds. A high resolution parametric methods were shown to give superior frequency resolution. In parametric methods, all methods provide a 1st & 2nd & 3rd frequency component. But Shank method provided a most dominant frequency peak.

Obesity Pattern-Identification question it will yell and 243 subjects which to the obesity in the patient of 517 subjects which draw up correspond. (longitude obesity 153 person, altitude obesity 90 person) against it analyzes. In order to analyze the reliability of the items which diagnose each Pattern-Identification it used Cronbach alpha coefficient and escape it did the alpha of each item. Alpha value of each Pattern-Identification than appears more highly the item which it will be able to consider an elimination in the item which decreases a reliability. In that phlegm-retention syndrome is bigger alpha coefficient 0.784 than 'meal quantity is few'(0.787) a possibility of seeing in the item which decreases a reliability to the place where it diagnoses it puts in phlegm-retention syndrome.

  • The increased usage of Magnetic Resonance Image (MRI) required the method for automatic segmentation of medical image that is more useful so as to diagnose the dissecitive information of a atient quickly and effectively through MR scans. The use of neural networks may give much hep to solving the complex problems concerned the matter. This paper proposes the new method for automatic segmentation of magnetic resonance (MR) images of the brain by using neural networks brained by back-propagation algorithm. The trained neural networks by the segmenting MR images of a patient produce an output that networks can segment MR images of the other patients automatically, too and show a clear image of the brain.

  • New diagnostic techniques have been tried on the applications of chemical, physical and micro-structural methods because there was a limit to diagnose degradation in Korean Underground Residential Distribution (URD) power cables with the conventional electrical methods. In this study, non-electrical properties were carried out as such. Characterization of interface layer was analyzed by X-ray, characterization of insulator by water tree, degree of crosslinking, shrinkage as well as ${\mu}$ -FTIR, characterization of semiconductive layer by volume resistivity. Electrical properties were also performed by leakage current.

  • The faults of the squirrel cage induction motor is grew increasingly complex as the faults resulting in the shorting of a stator winding and the broken rotor bar or cracked rotor end ring, bearing faults, and so on. The users of electrical machines initially relied on simple protections such as over-current, over-voltage, earth-fault, etc. to ensure safe and reliable operation. but this method cause heavy financial losses and the threat of safety therefore it has now become very important to diagnose faults at there very inception. in this paper, we are going to discuss the detection method of broken rotor bar of squirrel cage induction motor by the motor current signal analysis(MCSA) and the opening terminal voltage signal analysis.

  • This paper describes the simulation study, conducted on the propagation characteristics of AE signal in the connection of GIS. In the high voltage and large power system, the equipment with SF$\sub$6/ gas insulation which consists of the component part enclosed in the compressed gas has less affected by the environment than with air insulation. When the breakdown in the electric installation occurs, it takes much time to repair them though. Therefore it is very important to diagnose the propagation characteristics of AE signal in the GIS. So, in this investigation, we make a plane model of 362 kV GIS and modal and harmonic analysis to observe the vibro-acoustic property. Through the result of the analysis, we can make a further understanding on the vibro-acoustic characteristics of AE singnal in the connection of GIS.

  • The expert system monitoring and diagnosing 765kV power apparatus was described in this paper. To develop this expert system, we studied the knowledge bases and data bases for 765kV transformer and GIS. In order to make the reliable inference of knowledge base and the good MMI(Man Machine Interface), the data bases were consisted of the tables of power apparatus information, limit level value, measured input data, inference result and diagnosis result. The knowledge base had various rules to infer the conditions of transformer and GIS. We applied both the forward chaining and backward chaining methods to these rules of system for good inferences. This paper describes the applied methods for expert system. Also, this developed system was tested with dissolved gas analyzing result and the result was shown.

  • Reactor Noise is defined as the fluctuations of measured instrumentation signals during full-power operation of reactor which have informations on reactor system dynamics such as neutron kinetics, thermal-hydraulics, and structural dynamics. Reactor noise analyses of ex-core neutron detector internals such as fuel assembly and Core Support Barrel in Nuclear Power Plant. A real time mode separation technique have been developed and applied for the analyses. The analyses data base have been constructed for the continuous monitoring and diagnose of the reactor internals.
