개 파보바이러스성 장염에서 산-염기 장애의 진단 (Diagnosis of Acid-Base Disorders in Canine Parvoviral Enteritis)

  • Abstract: This study was aimed to diagnose acid-base disorders of dogs with canine parvoviral enteritis (CPE) and data to establish a rational fluid therapy regimen for patients with CPE. A total of 43 dogs which had clinical signs of CPE and had detected canine parvovirus by polymerase chain reaction, were bled anaerobically from jugular vein at the time of admission. Blood chemical test, determination of electrolytes and blood gas analysis were conducted, and calculated values were obtained from each measured items. The values of blood chemical and electrolytes of dogs with CPE were various depending on the degree of clinical signs, and these tests were not specific to diagnose for CPE. Hypochloremia (20.9%), hyperchloremia (11.6%), hypokalemia (7.0%), hyperkalemia (11.6%), hyponatremia (9.3%) and hypernatremia (18.6%) were diagnosed as abnormalities of electrolytes from 43 dogs with CPE. The 29 out of 43 dogs (67.4%) were metabolic acidosis and 3 dogs (7.0%) were metabolic alkalosis. The acid-base status of 11 dogs out of 43 dogs (25.6%) was normal.

New Methodology to Develop Multi-parametric Measure of Heart Rate Variability Diagnosing Cardiovascular Disease

  • The main purpose of our study is to propose a new methodology to develop the multi-parametric measure including linear and nonlinear measures of heart rate variability diagnosing cardiovascular disease. We recorded electrocardiogram for three recumbent postures; the supine, left lateral, and right lateral postures. Twenty control subjects (age: $56.70{\pm}9.23$ years), 51 patients with angina pectoris (age: $59.98{\pm}8.41$ years) and 13 patients with acute coronary syndrome (age: $59.08{\pm}9.86$ years) participated in this study. To develop the multi-parametric measure of HRV, we used the multiple discriminant analysis method among statistical techniques. As a result, the multiple discriminant analysis gave 75.0% of goodness of fit. When the linear and nonlinear measures of HRV are individually used as a clinical tool to diagnose cardiac autonomic function, there is quite a possibility that the wrong results will be obtained due to each measure has different characteristics. Although our study is a preliminary one, we suggest that the multi-parametric measure, which takes into consideration the whole possible linear and nonlinear measures of HRV, may be helpful to diagnose the cardiovascular disease as a diagnostic supplementary tool.

오이의 주요 병 및 영양 장애 진단 전문가 시스템 개발 (Development of Expert System for Diagnosis of Cucumber's Diseases and Nutritional Disorders)

  • 전문가시스템 개발 도구인 HCLIPS를 이용하여 오이의 병해 및 영양 장애 진단을 위한 전문가시스템이 개발하였다. 농민과의 접견 및 문헌 조사를 통해서 지식베이스를 구축하였으며, 사용자의 이해를 돕기 위해 병해 및 영향 장애의 영상 자료를 포장 촬영 등을 통해서 얻었다. 개발된 전문가시스템을 잘록병 등 11가지의 병해와 질소 결핍 등 12가지의 영양 장애를 진단할 수 있으며, 진단 결과에 대한 상세한 설명과 농약 사용법 등의 방제 대책까지 제공한다. 이 전문가시스템에 대해서 농민 및 전문가들을 대상으로 진단의 정확도 및 사용 편리성을 검증을 수행한 결과, 확신도의 차이는 있었으나 100%의 진단 정확도를 나타냈으며, 검사대상자의 88%가 사용하기에 편리하다고 답하였다.

Brain Magnetic Resolution Imaging to Diagnose Bing-Neel Syndrome

  • Radiologic findings of Bing-Neel syndrome, which is an extremely uncommon complication resulting from malignant lymphocyte infiltration into the central nervous system (CNS) in patients with Waldenstr$\ddot{o}$m's macroglobulinemia (WM), have been infrequently reported due to extreme rarity of the case. A 75-year-old man with WM presented at a neurology clinic with progressive gait and memory disturbances, and dysarthria of 2 months duration. Cerebrospinal fluid and serum protein electrophoresis and immunofixation electrophoresis showed IgM kappa-type monoclonal gammopathy. Brain magnetic resonance imaging revealed multifocal, hyperintense lesions on T2 weighted-images. Brain diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI) demonstrated hyperintensities in cerebral and cerebellar lesions that appeared isointense on apparent diffusion coefficient maps, which were compatible with vasogenic edema. Although histologic analysis is a confirmative study to prove direct cell infiltration into the brain, brain MRI with DWI may be a good supportive study to diagnose Bing-Neel syndrome.

  • 기존의 메모리에서 발생하는 다양한 고장들을 검출하기 위한 기법으로 BIST(Built-in self test)가 있고 고장이 검출되면 Spare를 할당하여 수리하는 BIRA(Built-in redundancy analysis)가 있다. 그리고 BIST와 BIRA를 통합한 형태인 BISR(Built-in self repair)를 통해 전체 메모리의 수율을 증가시킬 수 있다. 그러나 이전에 제안된 기법들은 RAM을 위해 제안된 기법으로 RAM의 메모리 구조와 특성이 다른 NAND-형 플래시 메모리에 사용하기에는 NAND-형 플래시 메모리의 고유 고장인 Disturbance를 진단하기 어렵다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 NAND-형 플래시 메모리에서 발생하는 Disturbance 고장을 검출하고 고장의 위치도 진단할 있는 BISD(Built-in self diagnosis)와 고장 블록을 수리할 수 있는 BISR을 제안한다.

  • 본 연구에서는 문항반응이론식 CAT 기법을 이용하여, 학습부진아를 진단하고 평가 결과를 즉시 확인할 수 있는 학습부진아 진단을 위한 웹기반 적응형 평가시스템을 구현하였다. 적응형 평가시스템은 단순히 피험자에게 검사 문항을 제시하는 것이 아니라, 각 문항의 정보를 계산하여 피험자에게 검사 문항을 제시하고 피험자의 응답을 다음 문항 추출의 입력 조건으로 처리하여 피험자 개개인에게 가장 적합한 문항을 다시 추출하여 피험자에게 제시하는 시스템이다. 이 시스템은 문항의 특성에 관련된 각종 정보들을 문항과 함께 체계적으로 저장하고 관리할 수 있는 평가시스템이다. 그리고 피험자의 반응에 따라 수준을 고려한 문항이 추출되어 피험자의 수준 및 상황에 반응하여 평가의 길이, 난이도가 조절되는 평가시스템이다.

고객의 지연보고를 고려한 보증수리내역자료에서의 고장률 추정 (Estimating Failure Rate Using Warranty Claim Data with Delayed Report of Customers)

  • Warranty claim data analysis is a useful tool for the manufacturer because it contains many useful informations regarding reliability of the product in the real-world environments. Because of the nature of uncertainty and the incompleteness of data, some bias patterns are observed on warranty claim rate known as 'spikes'. Two types of spikes are considered. One is due to manufacturing-related failures. The other is caused by customer's behavior. This paper proposes a model by considering two types of spikes. Warranty claim data is analyzed with the proposed model. To represent spikes observed on the early warranty period, we classify failures into manufacturing-related failures and usage-related failures. Uniform distribution is assumed for the time delayed to diagnose and report by customers. By reducing maximum value of the delayed time by customers, the proposed model characterizes customer's rush in the vicinity of the warranty expiration limit. Experimental results by using the real warranty claim data show that the proposed model is better than the existing one in respect to MSE(Mean Squared Error). Moreover it is expected to estimate the failure rate more realistically with proposed model because it considers the delayed time to diagnose and report by customers.

볼 베어링의 마멸 상태에 따른 진동 특성의 변화 (Vibration Characteristics According to Wear Progress of Ball Bearings)

  • The vibration data of bearings are very useful for monitoring and determining the condition of the bearings. The defect frequencies of ball bearings have been used for monitoring there condition. However, it is not easy to verify the defect frequencies as the wear progress. Therefore there is a need for an easy method to monitor the damages of bearings in real-time and to observe the variations in vibration characteristics as the wear progress. In this study, a bearing test equipment is constructed to diagnose the damage of bearings. The friction coefficient and vibration data are measured by using a torque sensor and an acceleration sensor, and the correlation between the measured data is analyzed to diagnose the condition of the bearing. We reached the following conclusions from the results. When the ball surface, inner and outer rings of a ball bearing are damaged, the friction coefficient increases to over 0.02 with an adhesion on the surface. Moreover this damage occurs more quickly with an increase in the number of revolutions. In the vibration characteristics, the amplitude of vibration wave appears high with an increase in the friction coefficient. In the high frequency range between 1000 and 2000 Hz, a wide range of frequency components with high amplitude occurs continuously irrespective of the number of revolutions.

사상체질분류검사지(QSCCII)를 이용한 체질감결방법에 대한 비교 연구 (Comparison study on Constitution Classification between QSCCII and Clinical Research)

  • Objectives: One of the most important and difficult things in SaSang Constitution Medicine is to diagnose and classify constitution. So there have been a lot of methods and tools to diagnose and classify it. We have attempted to show the reliability and clinical application of the QSCC Ⅱ (Questionnaire for the Sasang Constitution Classification Ⅱ), comparing with our own clinical research. Methods: We surveyed information from QSCC Ⅱ and compared QSCC Ⅱ' s reliability with clinical research of 54 patients' constitution(men 24, women 30). Results: Taeeum-in is the most commonly reported constitution by clinical research, and the next is Soeum-in. Soyang-in is the most commonly reported constitution by QSCC Ⅱ and the next is Taeeum-in. In Taeeum-in and Soeum-in' s items of QSCC Ⅱ, these matched those of the clinical research. Soyang-in' s items of QSCC Ⅱ did not match. Conclusions: The efficiency of QSCC Ⅱ is higher than clinical research in Taeeum-in, Soeum-in. But lower than clinical research, Soyang-in and Taeyang-in have no reliability in QSCC Ⅱ. So Soyang-in and Taeyang-in require alternative complementary studies in the future.

Recurrent hemoptysis in a 26-year-old woman with a ground-glass opacity lesion of the lung

  • Hemoptysis is a major reason for emergency department (ED) visits. Catamenial hemoptysis (CH), a rare condition of thoracic endometriosis, can cause recurrent hemoptysis but is difficult to diagnose in the ED due to the scarcity of cases and nonspecific clinical findings. We report a case of a 26-year-old woman who presented to the ED with recurrent hemoptysis since 2 years without a definite cause. Her vital signs and blood test findings were unremarkable. Chest computed tomography (CT) did not show any specific lesions other than a non-specific ground-glass opacity pattern in her right lung. She was on day 4 of her menstrual cycle and her hemoptysis frequently occurred during menstruation. Although there was no histological confirmation, based on her history of hemoptysis during menstruation and no other cause of the hemoptysis, the patient was tentatively diagnosed with CH and was administered gonadotropin-releasing hormone. She had no recurrence of hemoptysis for 3 months. While CH is difficult to diagnose in the ED, the patient's recurrent hemoptysis related to menstruation was a clue to the presence of CH. Therefore, physicians should determine the relationship between hemoptysis and menstruation for women of childbearing age presenting with repeated hemoptysis without a definite cause.
