  • In this paper, we determine the design criteria of haptic device considering the human haptic system and determine the design specifications. We developed a new 2DOF haptic device based on the specifications. It has the wide workspace, statically-balanced, constant inertia matrix, well-conditioned Jacobian matrix and so on. There also is not singularity point within workspace of the device. We show that it has better performance than other 2DOF haptic device in the many aspects.

  • This study is performance estimation of wind augmentation device for BiWP(Building-integrated Wind Power) which recently attracts attention as a local power. various structures are installed on a rooftop of residential complex buildings. Changing a profile of these, we designed a configuration that is able to capture much air and increase exit velocity. To estimate wind augmented effect of this device, we compared numerical analysis results with wind tunnel test results. Results show that exit velocity is increased from 24% to 60% by wind augmented device on a rooftop of building.

  • In this paper, a finger-click recognition method is proposed to improve the recognition performance for finger-clicking of a wearable input device, called $SCURRY^{TM}$. The proposed method is composed of three parts including feature extraction part, valid click discrimination part, and cross-talk avoidance part. Two types of MEMS inertial sensors are embedded into the wearable input device to measure the angular velocity of a hand (hand movement) and the acceleration rates at the ends of fingers (finger-click motion). The experiment applied to the $SCURRY^{TM}$ device shows the improved stability and performance.

  • Computing environments are being more and more various due to the development of technologies. While existing computing environments used for fixed locations or particular purposes by requesting big scale monitors or complicate calculation performance, recent computing environments are used for a variety of locations and for a diversity of purposes by using various devices. Because of the needs, digital device convergence, which emphases portability and mobility, came out. However, almost researches for user interface are performed for big scale monitors or complicate calculation performance until now. By the reason, user interface on each small device is different from others, or is not appropriate for the purpose of small device. Therefore, this research is to design Zoomable User Interface (ZUI) that adapts for small devices by adding the existing user interface on small devices and haptic technologies, and to implement a user interface for PDA devices.

  • A Color Discerning Device(CDD) is the equipment to use in Rice Processing Complex(RPC). By use a high-speed charge-coupled device camera, CDD can sorting discolored grain according to light and shade. The existing CDD's driving performance is not so good as overseas machine. Besides, transportation process causes a defect in the mechanism from impact or harmonic excitation or etc. This study is represented the problem of CDD through modal analysis and static analysis by using ANSYS workbench. To analysis the problem of driving condition, devide each part of CDD for performed modal analysis. The problem of driving condition and transportation process solved by carry out modal analysis and static analysis.

  • We investigated the effect of electron injection layer on the performance of organic light emitting devices (OLEDs). As an electron injection layer, the quinolate metal complexes were used. We optimized the device efficiency by varying the thickness of the quinolate metal complexes layer. The device with 1 nm of the quinolate metal complexes layer showed significant enhancement of the device performance and device lifetime. We also compared the effect of 8-hydroxyquinolinolatolithium (Liq) with that of bis(8-quinolinolato)-zinc ($Znq_{2}$) and 8-hydroxyquinolinolatosodium (Naq) as an electron injection layer. As a result, Liq is considered as a better materials for the electron injection layer than $Znq_{2}$ and Naq.

  • The existing power flow has a single direction to the line end but the bidirectional power flow will possibly occur depending on the output capacity in the 22.9[kV] distribution power system connected with the dispersed generation(DG). So these characteristics would influence the power system management. The DG have many advantages such as assistance source, Load share etc. So the utility must apply the bidirectional protection system so as to maximize an advantage of DG. This paper describes the field test case of bidirectional protective device in order to investigate the device performance when applied to bidirectional power system. We have tested in the power system test site of KEPCO and these tests provide the basis for performance verification test of bidirectional protective device in the power system.

  • The main purpose of this study is to design and develop the information display device for power conditioning system of photovoltaic power generation system. The function of this device is to display the information, communicate with PCS controller and store the special information. The developed device is tested to verify the performance and experimental results show the excellent performance. An actual running test is being carried out to verify the reliability of the device including PCS by applying it to 10kW level photovoltaic power generation system established in Ulsan College.

  • From the complexities and functional/operational expectations, the compositions of PC devices requires Device Drivers to deliver full performance of the Hardware. However, due to quick transition of hardwares and expectations of better performance of the system. As a rest users are exposed of unexpected failures of device drivers which will cause malfunction of the system which consequently cause damages in quantity as well as quality wise. In this paper, the method of calculation and/or forecast to unexpected failure will be suggested. It may not be the answer but can be a guide to calculation to economic damage due to device driver failure.

  • A rotating device driven by an Inchworm motor was designed and fabricated to be used as an angie standard system. 1. PZT was adopted as a driving source, while the movement of PZT was guided by the leaf spring employing the elastic transformation of metals. 2. The device could rotate in a 360-degree arc. continuously Performance test of the device showed about 0.02 sec. of the minimum revolution angle and 1/15 rpm of the maimum revolution speed. 3. To improve its performance requires further studies on realizing a shifting device with faster response time, on increasing the output current (capacity) of the power amplifier used to drive PZT, on the dynamic motion of clamping. and on determining the optimum clamping condition
