  • Nowaday, The Sustainable Development about global environment is the most important subject. In urban environment, a variety of the nature energy utilization such as the solar energy are the most efficient solution to solve this issue. One of these efficient solutions, a photovoltaic system using sunlight has been introduced to the building with an advantage such as cost-effective, safe for using and good for environment friendly in light with energy utilization. The BIPV is one of the most interesting and promisingly possibilities of an active use of solar energy at the building. Therefore the goal of this study is to get securing the application information of BIPV as finished envelope. The purpose of this study is to investigate the current performance measurement methods of BIPV module and to measure the performance of BIPV module by mock-up tests.

  • Recently, many kinds of XML based application services are widely used in internet. And the markets for mathml editor are needed for the technology combined with other text editor. We are developing a system for MathML based browser and editor for the service of internet application. MathML based browser is applicable for e-book service and many kinds of document system. This system is composed of document editing module and displaying processing module. This system is useful for the processing of MathML tag by unexperienced users with MathML syntax. Users can edit the math tag's document with ease and efficiently. Based on XML, many parser functions are optimized for the speed of document processing. This system can afford to the development of internet world.

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze the planning characteristics and it's application of container architecture as case study. Field survey was used to analyze the spatial planning characteristics in terms of development outline, appearance, exterior, floor plan and interior of eight famous cases in Berlin, Hamburg, Hannover, Amsterdam and Paris of Europe. The results of this study were as follows; Firstly, good examples of container architectures such as student housing, social service center, temporary medical facility and cruise terminal in Europe suggested the potential of domestic applicability in various purposes and development. Secondly, various types of freight container, building container and module frame system should be developed with their reprocessing environment. Thirdly, it is necessary for us to develop ISO type(20~40ft) container and standard plan with interior and storage design reflecting demands of residents. Finally, the use of container module will be an environmental-friendly alternative for its modularity and reusability, so it should be used as it is without severe deformation. The development of environmental friendly energy sources such as hydro and solar power is necessary for domestic container architecture as well. The container design should include the use of high quality of exterior finishing materials and the plan of aesthetical color planning to make the building a local landmark.

  • The object of this work is to develop an assessment system for pipeline integrity. The internal algorithm and the database of the system are described in this paper. The system consists of four module applications; the effect of corrosion in pipeline, crack, SCC (stress corrosion cracking) and fatigue module. The database of the system is separated to mainly four parts; geometry of pipeline, material properties, boundary condition and general properties. This system may give a guideline for maintenance and modifications.

Development and Application of the Photosynthesis Experimental Module Based on Scientist's Inquiry Processes (과학자의 탐구 과정을 재구성한 광합성 실험 모듈의 개발과 적용)

  • This study was intended to develop an experimental module based on inquiry processes conducted by photosynthesis scientists. It was aimed to enhance scientific inquiry ability of the middle school students by applying the developed module. Developed module included some experiments conducted by earlier photosynthesis scientists such as Helmont, Woodward, Priestly, Hales and Ingen-Hausz. Inquiry process was involved in the developed module for instructing the inquiry methods. Rapid-cycling Brassica rapa known as a Fast Plant was used for the experimental material. Developed module was applied to the experimental group consisting 27 eighth grader, while experiments suggested in the science textbook was applied to the control group consisting 30 eighth grader. Developed module was more effective in improving students' scientific inquiry ability, especially measuring, forecasting and hypothesizing ability as its subordinate elements. When the result of post-test was compared to one of pre-test in the experimental group, their observing, forecasting, and generalization ability were improved. Experimental group showed that students' conception in photosynthesis and conceptual development related with the role of plants in the ecosystem and plant's food and movement of the water and nutrients were also improved. Before application, students in the experimental group did not have enough understanding of the abstract concept such as the existence or the role of the materials like $CO_2$ or $O_2$ or the energy accumulation. Developed module could help students to achieve the comprehensive concept regarding the role of plants as producers of organic matter and oxygen and to enhance their scientific inquiry ability and concepts regarding photosynthesis.

  • The building integrated photovoltaic system (BIPV) attracts attention with regard to the future of the photovoltaic (PV) industry. It is because one of the promising national and civilian projects in the country. Since land area is limited, there is considerable interest in BIPV systems with a variety of angles and shapes of PV panels. It is therefore expected to be one of the major fields for the PV industry in the future. Since the irradiation is different from each installation angle, the output can be predicted by the angles. This is critical for a PV system to be operated at maximum power and use an efficient design. The development characteristics of tilted angles based on data results obtained via long-term monitoring need to be analyzed. The ratio of the theoretically available and actual outputs is compared with the installation angles of each PV module to provide a suitable PV system for the user.

  • The controller area network(CAN) was originally developed to support cheap and rather simple automative applications, However, because of the its performance and low cost, it is also being considered in automated manufacturing and process control environments to interconnect intelligent devices, such as modem sensors and actuators. This paper presents a new application technology of the developed CAN control modules for the automated doors in building automation system Key pad and RF methods are used to open and close the automated door by the slave CAN module with CAN Protocol. BAS application technology of CAN field bus modules is also presented firstly in our nation.

  • The home network system guarantees families a safe, economical, socially integrated and healthy life by using information appliances. And it provides a family with domestic safety, control of instruments, controllable energy and health monitoring by connecting to home appliances. This study designs the broadband PLC home controller using broadband PLC(Power Line Communication) technology which can save much cost at a network infrastructure by using the existing power line at home. The broadband PLC home controller consists of the broadband PLC module, the embedded main controller module and I/O module. The broadband PLC home controller can control various domestic appliances such as an auto door-lock, a boiler, an oven, etc., because it has various I/O specifications. In this study, selected home network middleware for the broadband PLC home controller is Jini surrogate using Jini technology designed by means of access to easily a home network system without a limitation of the devices. And a client application program is supported java servlet program to manage and monitor the broadband PLC home controller via web browser of a PC or a PDA, etc. Finally, for an application, we implemented and tested a home security system using one broadband PLC home controller.
