Development of a Multi-Layered Workflow Management System for Product Development Processes (제품 개발 프로세스 관리를 위한 다층 통합 워크플로우 시스템 개발)

  • In this paper, we propose a multi-layered architecture of workflow management systems based on CORBA (Common Object Request Broker Architecture). The system aims to support product development processes in distributed environment. Many companies have started to adopt workflow management systems to manage and support their business processes. However, there are many problems in direct application of those systems to product development environments. These mainly resulted from the dynamic features of product development processes. It is strongly required to support dynamic processes as well as static and procedural ones in an integrated and consistent manner. To meet these requirements, a basic workflow management system has been developed as the core component of the integrated architecture. This performs the basic functions of workflow management system. Second, a dynamic workflow management system based on a bidding mechanism has been developed to manage processes that cannot be easily defined or are likely to be modified, Finally, an SGML workflow management system, which is the third layer in the architecture, has been developed to manage documents processing workflows by integration SGML documents contents and process information into the structured SGML document.

  • The purpose of this study is to develop a data base system for the information on research and development of science education. As the first step of this study and development, a classification system for the research and development materials was devised after discussing the process of science education and the research and development of science education. The classification system has nine main categories : 1. area, 2. subject, 3. behavior, 4. skill, 5. support, 6. type, 7. materials, 8. language, and 9. the others, each of which has one or two levels of subcategory. This classification system was revised and supplemented through the theoretical analysis by speci.diSts and the practical classification of master's theses and doctoral dissertations from the Department of Science Education, Seoul National University. But it still needs more revision and enlargement through the continuous application and analysis.

  • 본 논문에서는 정형/비정형/XML 데이터의 검색 및 관리 기능을 갖춘 정보검색 관리시스템을 위한 서버와 클라이언트간의 통신 프로토콜을 설계하는 방법에 대해서 설명한다. 제시된 프로토콜은 정보검색관리시스템에 적절하게 설계되었으며, 확장성 및 호환성을 높이기 위하여 XML 메시지로 이루어져 있다. 그리고 통신 처리 효율을 증가시키기 위하여 TCP/IP 기반의 소켓 통신을 한다. 또한 본 논문에서는 이러한 프로토콜을 기반으로 정보검색관리시스템에서 기본적으로 제공하여야 하는 서비스를 정의한다.

  • 오늘날 과학기술 정보는 아주 다양한 곳에서 다양한 방식으로 생산 유통된다. 그러므로 원하는 정보의 위치나 각 정보 소스의 사용법을 모르는 사용자들은 일일이 정보 소스를 찾아 들어가 검색을 수행하여야 하는 번거로움이 있다. 본 논문에서는 사용자들에게 여러 곳에 위치한 과학기술 정보들을 한번에 검색하여 제공할 수 있는 과학기술 종합정보 시스템을 구현한다. 이를 위하여 KISTI와 (주)엔퀘스트에서 공동 개발한 분산통합검색 프로토콜을 사용한다. 사용된 분산통합 검색 프로토콜은 XML 기반으로 정의되어 있으며, 원천서버의 위치와 질의 형식 등에 관한 메타데이터를 유지하고 있어 분산된 서버들을 쉽게 통합검색에 참여 시킬 수 있다.

  • With the development of autonomous driving technology, as the use of software in vehicles increases, the complexity of the system increases and the difficulty of development increases. Developments that meet ISO 26262 must be carried out to reduce the malfunctions that may occur in vehicles where the system is becoming more complex. ISO 26262 for the functional safety of the vehicle industry proposes to consider functional safety from the design stage to all stages of development. Specifically at the software level, the requirements to be complied with during development and the requirements to be complied with during verification are defined. However, it is not clearly expressed about specific design methods or development methods, and it is necessary to supplement development guidelines. The importance of analysis and verification of requirements is increasing due to the development of technology and the increase of system complexity. The vehicle industry must carry out developments that meet functional safety requirements while carrying out various development activities. We propose a process that reflects the perspective of system engineering to meet the smooth application and developmentrequirements of ISO 26262. In addition, the safety analysis/verification FMEA processforthe safety of the proposed ISO 26262 function was conducted based on the FCAS (Forward Collision Avoidance Assist System) function applied to autonomous vehicles and the results were confirmed.   • Recently, the portion of electronic control in an engine system has been increasing with the aim of meeting the requirements of emissions and fuel efficiency of the engine system in the construction machinery industry. Correspondingly, the complexity of the engine management system (EMS) has increased. This study developed an engine HiLS system for reducing the cost and time required for function development for the EMS. The engine model for HiLS is composed of air, fuel, torque, and dynamometer models. Further, the mean value method is applied to the developed HiLS engine model. This model is validated by its application to a heavy-duty diesel engine equipped with an exhaust gas recirculation system and a turbocharger. Test results demonstrate that the model has accuracy greater than 90 and also verify the feasibility of the virtual calibration process.

  • The objective of this study is to develop an on-line system for improving undergraduate students' competency development. After drawing elements necessary for the competency development such as assessment and planning, competency development, analysis of competency assessment, portfolio, analysis of job ability and community, based on the literature research related to competency and the analysis of the existing system, the direction of the system design was set up. The system was developed by using Microsoft Windows operating system in Windows server, ORACLE ver.10 as its database management system, and JSP and JAVA as its programing language. Reviewing errors and improvements of the system, it was modified and complemented. In order to examine the content functional utilization of the final competency development system, the utilization was verified. The competency development system for undergraduate students can be used as on-line space filled with the internalization of knowledge, self-directed competency development, convenience of record management and interactions between students-professors-alumna, owing to its functions such as boosting competency activities, cultivating career-pioneering ability and introspecting. When it is rare to find researches on the competency development system for undergraduate students, it is expected to be helpful to the development of competency education and the career education for undergraduate students as a new alternative for the competency development.

  • The SW-centered battlefield management information system R&D project takes a long period of 5-10 years or more by applying a complex and rigid batch acquisition strategy. In order to solve this problem, it is necessary to institutionalize a rapid and flexible battlefield management information system R&D project management procedure applying agile development methodology, and a government project management organization and contract management method to support it In this study, we analyzed the case of applying the Agile development method centered on Scrum to the US SW-centered weapon system R&D project and the characteristics and problems of the battlefield management information system R&D project in Korea, and suggested improvement measures as follows. First, the battlefield management information system R&D model applies the hybrid development method, and the system requirements analysis and system structure design use the existing waterfall development procedure, and the agile method is applied from the SW requirements analysis to the system integration stage. Second, flexible adjustment of performance, schedule, and cost by organizing an Agile IPT in which military (requirements) - DAPA (project management) - developer - functional specialized organizations (test and evaluation, quality, government research institutes, etc.) participate. Third, improving the Basic Order Agreement so that it can be applied to agile R&D.

  • In this paper, we have proposed an integrated aircraft development environment which can support virtual design and development for Systems Engineering and IPPD(Integrated Product and Process Development). We have also proposed the ViMS(Virtual Mockup System) which can perform a system design review on an integrated aircraft development environment. The ViMS is an integrated virtual design support system with immersive design review functionality to make a virtual mockup instead of a physical mockup through the virtual reality technology. The functionality of the ViMS consists design data management, design technology, design verification, and design assessment. We have described the detailed development artifact, case studies and conclusions of using the ViMS functionality.

  • Systems engineering technology development program for Korea next-generation high-speed railway(KNHR) system in progress is a national large-scale system development program that is not only a large-size and complex but also multi-disciplinary in nature. Using the RDD-IOO, a systems engineering tool, the KNHR program can establish requirements traceability and development process management in the course of development. This paper presents the results from a computer-aided systems engineering application to KNHR system technology development project over the three years of activities. The traceability among the system design database in the vertical direction of SE process, as the results of the first year and the second year research was accomplished. The database in both the requirement management domain and the project management domain was developed and set up the traceability between them in the horizontal direction of the SE process in the V model as the results of the third year research. Therefore, KNHR design database was built to support the life-cycle management of the system as well as to reuse the knowledge in future programs. In the following development phase, this database will be utilized to accomplish the test and integration activities providing a baseline database. The outcome of the study contributes to the establishment of the model-based systems engineering approach as a best practice in the accumulation and advancement of systems engineering technology for railway system development.
