  • For developing acoustic window, transmission loss in accordance with incident angle was calculated and compared with measurement results. In design stage, the material choice of acoustic window is very important because the material is one of main parameters of transmission loss and structural strength. In order to analyze the effect of material properties on transmission loss, the parametric studies were carried out and the results were discussed in this paper. And, to verify the design specification of acoustic window, measurement was carried out and the results were compared and analyzed.

  • Efforts have been devoted to developing rapid and accurate methods for measuring the errors of machine tools. The method os measurement and calibration of machine tool errors should be general and efficient. The objective of this study is to show in detail the full sequence from the measurement of errors factors to the verification of the positioning accuracy after compensation for the volumetric error. In this paper, we described the steps in measuring the volumetric error parameters, a general error model composed of error parameters, temperature, and the desired position. The validity of the error calibration methods proposed in this paper was tested using a vertical 3-axis CNC machine with a laser interferometer and a ball bar.

  • Many scholars have persevered in understanding the convergence process by developing a measurement that reflects the characteristics of the convergence phenomenon as a process. Recently a series of studies suggested a framework in terms of diversity and coherence. However, an index for coherence is required to reflect the vital features of the conceptual definition, and thus a new index for coherence is proposed in this paper. Technology Convergence Index combines diversity and coherence and indicates the degree of the convergence in information computer technology (ICT), biotechnology (BT) and nanotechnology (NT) sectors. The index can not only be used to track each technology field that consists of a major technology sector, but also to compare other leading countries. Based on a comparison study between the United States and South Korea, the degrees of technology convergence of Korea in ICT, BT, and NT sectors have ameliorated.

  • We investigated a new longitudinal acceleration wave decomposition method in time domain. The proposed method separates up- and down-stream waves with an axial strain and axial acceleration measured at a single point on the transmission path. The advantages such as low computation load and easy implementation would be possible by developing time domain under the following assumptions; low frequency range, uniform cross sectional area and elastic wave propagation. We confirmed the feasibility and performance of the method through experiment using Split Hopkinson Pressure Bar (SHPB). The method can be effective in several applications, including active vibration control with wave view point, where real time wave decomposition is necessary.

  • Even the domestically small-and medium-sized companies progressed development in the monitoring equipment of inspecting run out in steel wheel aiming to supply and generalize through developing the monitoring equipment for securing quality technology and enhancing quality-test level. Run-Out value in vehicle wheel was measured with Computer & Servo system by using Low-Point marking machine control system, which is this development product. Low-Point value was operated and calculated. It marked by revolving wheel as much as the demanded measurement value based on 1ST harmony curve. Thus, the shipment of inferior product, which occurs in the measurement by the existing worker, could be blocked in advance. In the existing case, 60 sec. was required for inspecting 1 product. However, it came to bring about a rise in production volume through shortening inspection time to 8 seconds and improving workers' operating environment.

  • As the importance of software measurement increases, there are more researches developing the new software measure. Given the importance of object-oriented development techniques, one specific area where this has occurred is coupling measurement in object-oriented systems. This thesis presents the coupling measure COM based on the methods and OOC based on the classes in measuring the coupling of object-oriented systems. And, it evaluates them using the coupling properties suggested by Briand while it compares them with other coupling measures by applying them to a system developed in the language of C++programming language.

  • The present metering transformer being used for measurement has the characteristics of high reliability and high efficiency. In the future, however, it is thought that the scales of mettering transformer will be larger and the cost of production will increase as the transmission voltage ascends to UHV. And, also, it wilt be not easy to ensure the aseismatic capability. For the purpose of settling these problems, by applying optical sensor technology to electric power systems and by developing optical current transformer and potential transformer, we will realize the saving in energy, reduction of cost prise, improvement in measuring precision.

  • In developing a regression relationship for a standard data system in work measurement, job characteristics are frequently measured with error when measurements are made in the field under less controlled conditions or when accurate instruments are not available. This paper concerns with the prediction of the total task time when job characteristics are measured with error. Integrated mean square error of prediction(IMSE) is developed as a measure of the effect of errors in job characteristics on the predicted total task time. By evaluating how IMSE is affected by the measurement error in each job characteristic, we can determine which error should be controlled to develop a desirable standard data system.

  • In this study, we employ the control patches, which have been created in previous photogrammetric projects, serving for the candidates of the control points that are likely to be found in the newly taken photos by utilizing image matching technique. Among others, the successful implementation of the above idea lies in the underlying factors: (1). Predicting the control patches and projecting them onto new photos; (2). Alignment of control patches with respect to the new photos; (3). Generating the equivalent ground elements of control patches versus the new photos for the purpose of correlation; (4). Developing effective matching methods and matching strategy; (5). Refining the exterior orientation parameters. What may show significance in this work comparing to traditional aerial-triangulation chain is that whenever at least three matched control patches succeed in a single photo, it follows that single photo orientation is applicable. The experiments suggest the potential efficiency of automatic control point measurement from control patch database and photo orientation by the proposed workflow.

  • Indoor positioning system becomes of increasing interests due to the demands for accurate indoor location information where Global Navigation Satellite System signal does not approach. Wi-Fi access points (APs) built in many construction in advance helps developing a Wi-Fi Received Signal Strength Indicator (RSSI) based indoor localization. This localization method first collects pairs of position and RSSI measurement set, which is called fingerprint database, and then estimates a user's position when given a query measurement set by comparing the fingerprint database. The challenge arises from nonlinearity and noise on Wi-Fi RSSI measurements and complexity of handling a large amount of the fingerprint data. In this paper, machine learning techniques have been applied to implement Wi-Fi based localization. However, most of existing indoor localizations focus on single position estimation. The main contribution of this paper is to develop multi-target localization by using deep neural, which is beneficial when a massive crowd requests positioning service. This paper evaluates the proposed multilocalization based on deep learning from a multi-story building, and analyses its learning effect as increasing number of target positions.
