Recently, Internet of Things (IoT) and deep learning techniques have affected video surveillance systems in various ways. The surveillance features that perform detection, tracking, and classification of specific objects in Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) video are becoming more intelligent. This paper presents real-time algorithm that can run in a PC environment using only a low power CPU. Traditional tracking algorithms combine background modeling using the Gaussian Mixture Model (GMM), Hungarian algorithm, and a Kalman filter; they have relatively low complexity but high detection errors. To supplement this, deep learning technology was used, which can be trained from a large amounts of data. In particular, an SRGB(Sequential RGB)-3 Layer CNN was used on tracked objects to emphasize the features of moving people. Performance evaluation comparing the proposed algorithm with existing ones using HOG and SVM showed move-in and move-out error rate reductions by 7.6 % and 9.0 %, respectively.

Light detection and ranging (LiDAR) sensors detect the distance of the surrounding environment and objects. Conventional LiDAR sensors require a certain amount of a power because they detect objects by transmitting lasers at a regular interval depending on a constant resolution. The constant power consumption from operating multiple LiDAR sensors is detrimental to autonomous and electric vehicles using battery power. In this paper, we propose two algorithms that improve the inefficient power consumption during the constant operation of LiDAR sensors. LiDAR sensors with algorithms efficiently reduce the power consumption in two ways: (a) controlling the resolution to vary the laser transmission period (TP) of a laser diode (LD) depending on the vehicle's speed and (b) reducing the static power consumption using a sleep mode depending on the surrounding environment. A proposed LiDAR sensor with a resolution control algorithm reduces the power consumption of the LD by 6.92% to 32.43% depending on the vehicle's speed, compared to the maximum number of laser transmissions (Nx·max). The sleep mode with a surrounding environment-sensing algorithm reduces the power consumption by 61.09%. The proposed LiDAR sensor has a risk factor for 4-cycles that does not detect objects in the sleep mode, but we consider it to be negligible because it immediately switches to an active mode when a change in surrounding conditions occurs. The proposed LiDAR sensor was tested on a commercial processor chip with the algorithm controlling the resolution according to the vehicle's speed and the surrounding environment.
We proposed a new PCB-type 'common-mode current($I_c$) and differential-mode current($I_d$) detector' working for fast detection of $I_c$ and $I_d$ from the differential-mode signaling, with miniaturization effect and possibility of cheaper fabrication. In order to realize this device, we suggest a branch-line-coupler balun having a composite right- and left-handed(CRLH) one-layer microstrip phase-shifting line as compact as roughly ${\lambda}_g/14$. The presented balun obviously is different from the conventional bent-&-folded delay lines or slits on the ground for coupling the lines on the top and bottom dielectrics. As we connect the suggested balun output ports of the differential-mode signal lines via the through-port named U and coupled-port named L, $I_c$ and $I_d$ will appear at port ${\Delta}$ and port ${\Sigma}$ of the present device, in order. The validity of the design scheme is verified by the circuit-and numerical electromagnetic analyses, and the dispersion curve proving the metamaterial characteristics of the geometry. Besides, the examples of the $I_c$ and $I_d$ indicator are observed as the even and odd modes in differential-mode signal feeding. Also, the proposed device is shown to be very compact, compared with the conventional structure.

This paper proposed a new transponder detection method to reduce tag recognition time and simplify anti-collision process in RFID systems. In conventional systems, a transponder in detectable area is passively recognized by responding to a reader command. In addition, if there are multiple tags in the area, a collision between tags occurs by responding at the same time to a command and anti-collision process begins. In the proposed method, tags are actively recognized without any command from a reader which results to reducing a tag recognition time and simplifying anti-collision process. To compare transponder recognition time, the process of transponder recognition in conventional systems is analysed. A circuit to detect transponder directly is developed and antenna voltage variation of a reader in the appearance of multiple transponders is analysed for the implementation of the proposed method.
This paper proposes a method to detect rail broken through impedance measurement. In general, broken rails are detected in real time using the track circuit, but the proposed method not only detects the broken rails but also estimates positions of broken areas by measuring the rail impedance. To electrically insulate one side of the rail, parallel resonance is made by adding a capacitor; then, the impedance of the other rail is measured. If the measured impedance has an inductive value, there is no broken area of rail. However if the measured impedance has a capacitive value, the rail is broken. The proposed method is modeled using a transmission line; it is shown that the modeling can estimate the position of the broken rail according to the impedance value. The rail impedance is measured by the proposed method for a 60m simple rail model, and it is verified that the presence of a broken rail changes the rail impedance.

An objection of this study is to develop a high stable measuring circuits and a analytic system for radioactive pulses. The proposed system consists of a pulse detection units for neutrons and gamma-rays a programmable high voltage supply unit and a digital signal processor. The programmable high voltage supply unit designed can generate DC voltage up to 1,500 V at 5 V input and have a series voltage regulator to maintain the output voltage constantly, resulting in less than 1.63% of voltage regulation. The pulse detection parts consists of an active integrator, a pole-zero circuit, and a 3-stage amplifier of 60 dB, and its frequency bandwidth is from 37 Hz to 300 kHzAlso, pulse height distribution in accordance with pulse counts is important data in analyzing radioactive pulses. In this study, A/D convertor (12bit, 100ms) and DSP (TMS320C31-60) are used to analyze the pulse height, and the analytic system is designed to be operated in PC-base.

In this paper, a compact doppler sensor with oscillator type active antenna operating at 2.4GHz frequency band is proposed to measure the distance to a moving object. The oscillation frequency is shifted depending on approaching of the object, and a detection circuit discriminates the frequency deviation. The active antenna has been designed and simulated. The prototype fabricated has a small circular disk type of diameter 30mm and height 4.2mm. As for antenna performance, broadside radiation pattern with beamwidth of $120^{\circ}$ and oscillation frequency of 2.35GHz has been measured. Test results as a range sensor shows that signal voltage of about 240mV has been obtained for conducting plate moving 1 meter away from the sensor. And, signal voltage has been linearly increased to the ground from 5m height by free-falling the sensor.

In the fire scene, it is difficult to see 1m ahead because of power failure, smoke and toxic gas, even with thermal imaging camera and Xenon searchlight. Analysis of the smoke particles in the fire scene shows that even if the smoke is $5{\mu}m$ or less in wavelength, it is difficult to obtain a front view when using a conventional thermal imaging camera if the visual distance exceeds 1 meter. In the case of black smoke with a particle wavelength of $5{\mu}m$ or more, a space permeation sensor technology using various sensors other than a single sensor is required because chemical materials, gas, and water molecules are mixed. Firefighters need a smoke detection technology for smoke detection and spatial information visualization for forward safety view.In this paper, we design the interface of the information processing system with 32bit CPU core and peripheral circuit. We also implemented and simulated the interface with Lidar sensor. Through this, we provide interface that can implement information processing system of human enhancement fire helmet in the future.
This paper describes that how to enhance the robustness of semiconductor TRM(Transmitter and Receiver Module) through the bias sequencing and tuning the switching time. Previous circuit designs focused on improving the MDS(Minimum Detection Signal) performance. Because TRM has critical problem which transmission output signal leak into receiver by it's compact design. Under this condition, TRM was frequently broken down within the MTBF(Mean Time Between Failure). This study proposes the bias sequencing and tuning the switching time to improve above problem. At first, we collected major failure symptom and infer it's cause. Second, we demonstrated it's effect by derive the improvement method and apply it to our system. And finally we can convinced that the proposed method clear the frequent failure problem with its lack of isolation.
In this paper, we propose the tester apparatus for 48 channel GM Tube sensor. The proposed apparatus can test up to 48 channel GM tube simultaneously to detect the defect and analyze the sensor characteristic. 300-1000V variable high voltage generation circuit is utilized for the apparatus suitable for the sensor characteristic. Thus, the proposed system is useful for various GM Tube sensor characteristic analysis. Multiple sensor testing environment is established for the early detection of the defect and the analysis to reduce the costs for manufacturing and rework. Developed 48 channel GM Tube sensor test is evaluated with certified testing equipment and shows excellent performance with respect to the uncertainty of the sensor test results.
