Comparison of Error and Enhancement: Effect of Image Interpolation

  • Image interpolation is a technique that pervades many an application. Interpolation is almost never the goal in itself, yet it affects both the desired results and the ways to obtain them. In this paper, we proposed a technique that is capable to find out the error when the common two methods (bilinear and nearest neighbor interpolation) are applied on an image for rotation. The proposed technique also includes the comparison results of bilinear interpolation and nearest neighbor interpolation. Among them nearest neighbor interpolation gives us a better result regarding to the enhancement and due to least error. The error is found by using Mean Square Error (MSE).

  • In this paper, we concentrate on the mask design problem for optical micro-lithography. The pre-distorted mask is obtained by minimizing the error between the designed output image and the projected output image. We use the particle swarm optimization(PSO) and fuzzy system to insure that the resulting images are identical to the desired image. Our method has good performance for the iteration number by an experiment.

고립점 제거를 이용한 웨이브릿 변환 영상의 트리구조 부호화 (Quadtree image compression using isolated wavelet coefficients removal)

  • In this paper, an image coding scheme using removal of isolated coefficients and quadtree structure in wavelet transformed domain, is suggested. The number of significant coefficients can be reduced by quantizing in different stages according to the weights of the each band. The quadtree structure preseves the location information while significantly reducing the number of bits required to represent the locality of an image. To increase the efficienty of the wavelet transformed images using quadtree, the energy of the isolated coefficients is analyzed and those with low energy are eliminated. Furthermore, to control the bit rate the entropy of each block is sorted according to its energy concentration and the number of bits required for encoding, and the blocks with low energy are removed to achieve the desired compression rate.

  • Visual feedback has traditionally been used in robot manipulator control to a limited extent. However in varying environment, visual data is needed to control the manipulator to complete the desired task. In this paper we present a method of manipulator control scheme called image-based visual servo. In this scheme we use image data as feedback to control robot manipulator. And we also show the experimental results with an industrial robot manipulator.

무인비행로봇에 장착된 카메라를 이용한 다중 무인지상로봇의 충돌 없는 대형 제어기법 (Vision-Based Collision-Free Formation Control of Multi-UGVs using a Camera on UAV)

  • In this paper, we present a framework for collision avoidance of UGVs by vision-based control. On the image plane which is created by perspective camera rigidly attached to UAV hovering stationarily, image features of UGVs are to be controlled by our control framework so that they proceed to desired locations while avoiding collision. UGVs are assumed as unicycle wheeled mobile robots with nonholonomic constraint and they follow the image feature's movement on the ground plane with low-level controller. We used potential function method to guarantee collision prevention, and showed its stability. Simulation results are presented to validate capability and stability of the proposed framework.

  • VTK is a free but professional development platform for images three-dimensional (3D) reconstruction and processing. It is powerful, open-source, and users can customize their own needs by self-development of great flexibility. To give the doctors more and detailed information by simulate dissection to the 3-D brain MRI image after reconstruction. A Visualization System (VS) is proposed to achieve 3D brain reconstruction and virtual dissection functions. Based on the free VTK visualization development platform and Visual Studio 2010 IDE development tools, through C++ language, using real people's MRI brain dataset, we realized the images 3D reconstruction and also its applications and extensions correspondingly. The display effect of the reconstructed 3D image is well and intuitive. With the related operations such as measurement, virtual dissection and so on, the good results we desired could be achieved.

Skin Color Based Facial Features Extraction

  • This paper discusses on facial features extraction based on proposed skin color model. Different parts of face from input image are segmented based on skin color model. Moreover, this paper also discusses on concept to detect the eye and mouth position on face. A height and width ratio (${\delta}=1.1618$) based technique is also proposed to accurate detection of face region from the segmented image. Finally, we have cropped the desired part of the face. This exactly exacted face part is useful for face recognition and detection, facial feature analysis and expression analysis. Experimental results of propose method shows that the proposed method is robust and accurate.

무인 시스템의 자율 주행을 위한 영상기반 항법기술 동향 (Survey on Visual Navigation Technology for Unmanned Systems)

  • 이 논문에서는 영상정보를 기반으로 한 무인 시스템의 자율 항법기술에 대한 동향을 요약한다. 영상기반 항법기술로는 비주얼 서보잉, 비주얼 오도메트리, 영상 기반 SLAM(simultaneous localization and mapping)이 있다. 비주얼 서보잉은 목표 이미지와 현재 이미지 사이의 피쳐 차이로부터 원하는 속도 입력을 계산하여 무인 로봇을 목표 자세로 유도하는 데 사용된다. 비주얼 오도메트리는 무인 시스템이 영상정보를 바탕으로 자신의 이동 궤적을 추정하는 기술로, 기존의 dead-reckoning 방식보다 정확성을 향상시킬 수 있다. 영상 기반 SLAM은 무인 시스템이 영상 정보를 활용하여 미지의 환경에 대한 지도를 구축함과 동시에 자신의 위치를 결정해 나가는 기술로, 정확히 알지 못하는 환경에서 무인차량이나 무인기를 운용하는데 필수적이다. 이러한 기술들이 적용된 해외의 연구 사례들을 살펴봄으로써 영상기반 항법기술의 동향을 파악할 수 있었다.

대학생의 패션스타일과 이미지 선호도 연구 -대전과 경기지역 대학생을 중심으로- (Fashion Style and Image Preference for University students -focused Daejeon and Gyeonggi area-)

  • This study aims examine specific image preferences through selected fashion style and evaluation terms. Therefore, this study provided basic information in order to help select a suitable fashion style within a desired image. As times are changing, most people obtain information about fashion through the use of the Internet by utilizing mobile phones and personal computers and less through magazines, newspapers and so on. When people buy clothes, they seem to be more influenced by the design and color than by price and quality. It is not perceived important for buying like company, advertising, the place of purchase etc. The results of the analysis reveal the structural elements of an image having a sense of fashion style and can be categorized as a natural image, romantic image, elegance image, casual image and avant-garde image. Among the six fashion styles, the natural image is regarded the highest A style. The romantic image is the highest B style and elegance image is the C, D, E style. The casual image is the highest F style and avant-garde image is a D style. In regards to appropriate fashion style by ages, the twenty-something population is investigated in finding a fit that is lively and vibrant in style while the thirty-something population is perceived to identify with a more feminine style. The forty-something population has shown to prefer a more luxurious style. Through this observation one can see that there is a distinction is fashion style between ages.

생성적 적대 신경망을 활용한 부분 위변조 이미지 생성에 관한 연구 (A Study on Image Creation and Modification Techniques Using Generative Adversarial Neural Networks)

  • 생성적 적대 신경망(Generative Adversarial Networks, GAN)은 내부의 두 신경망(생성망, 판별망)이 상호 경쟁하면서 학습하는 네트워크이다. 생성자는 현실과 가까운 이미지를 만들고, 구분자는 생성자의 이미지를 더 잘 감별하도록 프로그래밍 되어있다. 이 기술은 전체 이미지 X를 다른 이미지 Y로 생성, 변환 및 복원하기 위해 다양하게 활용되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 원본 이미지에서 부분 이미지만 추출한 후, 이를 자연스럽게 다른 객체로 위변조할 수 있는 방법에 관해 기술한다. 먼저 원본 이미지에서 부분 이미지만 추출한 후, 기존에 학습시켜놓은 DCGAN 모델을 통해 새로운 이미지를 생성하고, 이를 전체적 스타일 전이(overall style transfer) 기술을 사용하여 원본 이미지의 질감과 크기에 어울리도록 리스타일링(re-styling) 한 후, 원본 이미지에 자연스럽게 결합하는 과정을 거친다. 본 연구를 통해 원본 이미지의 특정 부분에 사용자가 원하는 객체 이미지를 자연스럽게 추가/변형할 수 있음으로써 가짜 이미지 생성의 또 다른 활용 분야로 사용될 수 있을 것이다.
