시물레이션과 진화 전략을 이용한 가스 오븐 조립라인의 최적 설계 (The Optimal Design of gas oven assembly line with the Simulation and Evolution Strategy)

  • The assembly line is one of the typical process hard to analyze with mathematical methods including even stochastic approaches, because it includes many manual operations varying drastically depending on operators' skills. In this paper, we suggest the simulation optimization method to design the optimal assembly line of a gas oven. To achieve the optimal design, firstly, we modeled the real gas oven assembly line with actual data, such as assembly procedures, operation rules, and other input parameters and so on. Secondly, we build some alternatives to enhance the line performance based on business rules and other parameters. The DOE(Design Of Experiment) techniques were used for testing alternatives under various situations. Each alternatives performed optimization process with evolution strategy; one of the GA(Genetic Algorithm) techniques. As a result, we can make about 7% of throughputs up with the same time and cost. By this process, we expect the assembly line can obtain the solution compatible with their own problems.

  • BIM(Building Information Modeling) based design process can initiatively conduct a task through all phases from early design step to construction and maintenance step. Also BIM efficiently manage the building's energy by reflecting 3D design and construction life cycle. This paper proposes an efficient process to build AHU's BIM-based library. This study involves analyzing an AHU model for development of design module, and making the template model using the same 12 parts including the shapes of ducts, doors and frames. In consideration of each shape's direction and the status of existence, which are detailed shapes of parts upon making the template model, all the shapes of the AHU model can be expressed. By applying parametric modeling to the template model, a quick and precise modification and transformation can be conducted, thus the efficiency is enhanced. A user selects an AHU model from a 2D model selection program, and extracts shape information. The final AHU shape is completed through the automation work of unnecessary shape deletion by bringing the extracted shape information to the template model. This enables the user to build efficient AHU's BIM-based library, since the quick and precise modification and transformation of the template model are possibile, and all AHU model shapes can be expressed.

  • Algorithm-based architecture helps specifically dividing the environmental variables of a target space into individual factors to build object-oriented programming, classifying them into an individual object according to the environmental variables of each planning circumstance, and distributing each structure into small structures. In addition, each itemized matter of construction is set as a condition, and thus it is possible to respond to the space condition of various circumstances which occur in the architectural planning process. This study is intended for predicting that a sketch role in the design process can be replaced by a design method utilizing an algorithm, through the external solar radiation and the illuminance value of indoor lighting device among the environmental variables of a target space, and for seeking a way to create a design alternative and improve the design quality by using computer-based algorithm design.

A Design for Six Sigma: A Robust Tool in Systems Engineering Process

  • While systems engineering has been widely applied to complex system development, some evidences are reported about major budget and schedule overruns in systems engineering applied. On the other hand, many organizations have been deploying Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) to build Six Sigma momentums in the area of design and development for their products and processes. To explore the possibility of having a DFSS complement systems engineering process, this process reviews the systems engineering with their categories of effort and DFSS with its methodologies. A comparison of the systems engineering process and DFSS indicates that DFSS can be a complement to systems engineering for delivering higher quality products to customers faster at a lower cost. We suggest a simplified framework of systems engineering process, that is, PADOV which was derived from the generic systems engineering process which has been applied to the development of T-50 advanced supersonic trainer aircraft by Korea Aerospace Industries (KAI) with technical assistance of Lockheed Martin. We demonstrated that each phase of PADOV framework is comprehensively matched to the pertinent categories of systems engineering effort from various standards.

  • In any rapid prototyping process, the layer by layer building process introduces an area error between the staircase and the surface line specified by the computer-aided design model. This affects the dimensional accuracy as well as the surface finish for different part build orientations. This paper describes a methodology for computing the area error for any orientation of the part built by the fused deposition modelling system. This technique can be applied to determine the best build orientation of the part, based on the minimum area error. This technique is verified by comparing the results with the experimental measurements of the area error of the parts built at different orientations.

  • The purpose of this research is to develop the technology to meet the requirements of the design content, and to build a 'Requirement Information Management Model' for the design project. The model that should be used in the early design stage will undergo the following process: First, basic requirements would be defined by extracting the design content in the form of a reusable library of space units. At the next stage, requirement information should be modified after considering unique characteristics for the project and conflict problems between function and performance.

  • This study relates to the effect of forming time of injection path on the total process. The whole process can be divided into build process of forming path of injection and after treatment process. The total time required for the whole process could be reduced by reducing the forming time of injection path using SLC file to correct the problems of STL file that is the basic file format for high speed molding devices. First of all, I verify the forming time of injection path according to the conditions of STL file during the formation of injection path. And I verify problems using STL file during formation of injection path. And then I tried to solve problems of STL file by comparing between the formation time of injection path and the existing method using SLC files.

  • Heat pipes, applied to flat plate solar collectors, have a long and slender configuration with relatively low heat flux on the evaporator. Such a heat pipe has a tendency to build-up a liquid pool at the lower half of evaporator zone, and at this pool occurs such complicated phenomena of evaporation and fluid dynamics as superheat, sudden generation of bubble, its likely explosive growth process and flooding etc. In the present study, we tried to solve those problems by means of adjusting the two principle design parameters, liquid fill charge and wick length, using 4 heat pipes and 3 thermosyphons, with different values of parameter respectively. The corresponding results can be summarized as followings, - The thermal conductance of heat pipes was largely improved by el eliminating wick from adiabatic and condenser zone. - But on evaporator zone wick is inevitable to reduce behavior of the build -up of liquid pool , where arise diverse internal complex phenomena. - The liquid fill charge should have to be increased by 10∼20% more than the quantity to saturate the wick.

  • School is a basic and the most fundamental facility of city planning just like other basic public facilities including the village office. Every plan is established on the basis of school. However, the problems such as the population reduction resulting from the nuclear family-zation and low birth rate, employment and welfare of the aged people resulting from "the old aged society", and the infant nursing and education resulting from a rapid increase of the working couples become notable and accordingly more requirements are being made. Reflecting this trend, the concept and operation system should be changed. Up to now, the BTL projects of the educational facilities are gaining a reputation of being efficient in terms of national budget running, but at the same time receiving negative reputation in terms of budget saving under the civil creativity and efficiency. Through upgrading the private sector investment projects into the BTO+BTL system and further into the BTO(Build Transfer Operate), we can accomplish the original goals of the private sector investment projects, and can make the education budget operation more efficient, and can greatly improve the education environments. However, we should not underestimate in this process that these facilities should not negatively affect the education environments. In any situation, the owners of schools are students.

센서와 가상 공정설계를 활용한 스마트 팩토리 구축 (The Built of Smart Factory Using Sensors and Virtual Process Design)

  • 최근 4차 산업혁명과 스마트 팩토리라는 용어를 뉴스나 매체를 통해 자주 들을 수 있다. 하지만 스마트 팩토리에 대한 정보와 어떻게 스마트 팩토리를 구축해야 하는지에 대한 구체적인 가이드라인이 없기 때문에 기업들로부터 외면 받고 있다. 스마트 팩토리의 구축은 도입 목적을 고려하여 회사의 규모에 적합하게 수행되어야한다. 기존 논문 연구에서 국내 대 중 소기업들을 대상으로 스마트 팩토리 성공구축 사례들을 분석 하였다. 사례분석 결과, 대기업의 경우 일부공장을 대상으로 시범적으로 스마트 팩토리를 구축한 후 성공적으로 평가될 시 전체공장으로 확대시키는 전략이 효과적이다. 중소기업의 경우, 낮은 수준의 스마트 팩토리 구축레벨에서 높은 수준의 구축레벨로 업그레이드하는 것이 효과적이다. 본 논문에서는 전통제조업체를 1개 선정하고, 3D가상공정설계를 통해 병목 구간과 개선이 필요한 공정을 파악한 후 센서를 설치한다. 최종적으로 센서를 통해 수집 된 데이터를 분석한 후 공정을 개선하고, 생산성이 향상된 스마트 팩토리를 구축하여 그 효과를 검증해 보고자 한다.
