BOTDA based water-filling and preloading test of spiral case structure

  • In the water-filling and preloading test, the sensing cables were installed on the surface of steel spiral case and in the surrounding concrete to monitor the strain distribution of several cross-sections by using Brillouin Optical Time Domain Analysis (BOTDA), a kind of distributed optical fiber sensing (DOFS) technology. The average hoop strain of the spiral case was about $330{\mu}{\varepsilon}$ and $590{\mu}{\varepsilon}$ when the water-filling pressure in the spiral case was 2.6 MPa and 4.1 MPa. The difference between the measured and the calculated strain was only about $50{\mu}{\varepsilon}$. It was the first time that the stress adjustment of the spiral case was monitored by the sensing cable when the pressure was increased to 1 MPa and the residual strain of $20{\mu}{\varepsilon}$ was obtained after preloading. Meanwhile, the shrinkage of $70{\sim}100{\mu}{\varepsilon}$ of the surrounding concrete was effectively monitored during the depressurization. It is estimated that the width of the gap between the steel spiral case and the surrounding concrete was 0.51 ~ 0.75 mm. BOTDA based distributed optical fiber sensing technology can obtain continuous strain of the structure and it is more reliable than traditional point sensor. The strain distribution obtained by BOTDA provides strong support for the design and optimization of the spiral case structure.

Micro Stacked Spiral Inductor를 이용한 6Gbps 1:2 Demultiplexer 설계 (A 6Gbps 1:2 Demultlplexer Design Using Micro Stacked Spiral inductor in CMOS Technology)

  • CMOS $0.18{\mu}m$ 공정을 이용하여 1.8V supply voltage에서 6Gbps 이상의 처리속도를 가지는 1:2 demultiplexer(DEMUX)를 구현하였다. 높은 동작속도를 위하여 Current mode logic(CML)의 Flipflop을 사용하였으며 추가적인 동작속도 향상을 위하여 On-chip micro stacked spiral inductor($10{\times}10{\mu}m^2$)를 사용하였다. 총 12개의 인덕터를 사용하여 $1200{\mu}m^2$의 면적증가만으로 Inductive peaking의 효과를 나타낼 수 있었다. Chip의 측정은 wafer상태로 진행하였고 Micro stacked spiral inductor가 있는 1:2 demultiplexer와 그것이 없는 1:2 demultiplexer를 비교하여 측정하였다. 6Gbps에서 측정결과 Micro stacked spiral inductor를 1:2 demultiplexer가 inductor를 사용하지 않은 구조보다 Eye width가 약3%정도 증가하였고 또한 Jitter가 43%정도 감소하여 개선효과가 있음을 확인하였다. 소비전력은 76.8mW, 6Gbps에서의 Eye height는 180mV로 측정되었다.

  • Recently, rheology forming technology has been interested in industrial and academic for light weight materials and to solve environmental issues. In this study, the rheology material production equipments were used to be made spiral shape by special design. And the experiment variables established stirring time 0 $\sim$ 1200 sec, stirring velocity 0 $\sim$ 100 rpm and several material temperature of semi - solid states. The rheology materials were made for established experiment conditions then measured mechanical properties. Sequence-production equipments were appended to fabrication system of rheology material for make rheology materials continually. Therefore, the development of sequence-production equipments were demanded for fine grains and for uniform globule shape rheology materials by a specially designed spiral stirrer machine.

  • In this paper, we improved the reliability of a spiral spring in semi-auto sliding mechanism of mobile phones. In an semi-auto opening mechanism of mobile phone, the spring must have sufficient reliability such that the spring force does not reduce under a half of initial value after 100000 operations. Since the inner space of the mechanism is very small, it is difficult to design a spring having sufficient reliability. We designed a spiral spring satisfying such conditions and analyzed its elastic performances using finite element method.

  • The purpose of this study is to introduce design practice for transverse reinforcement in piles where the top of the pile is free-standing above the ground in accordance with AASHTO LRFD Design Specification. Based on the relevant requirements, the amount and spacing of transverse spiral reinforcement is given for the two different pile types, namely piles with pile cap and pile bents. In addition, a recommended design procedure is introduced depending on the predicted behaviour of the piles from the analysis.

슬롯형 분할 나선형 공진기를 이용한 소형 협 대역통과 필터 설계 및 제작 (Fabrication and Design of a Compact Narrow Band Pass Filter Using Slot Type Split Spiral Resonators)

  • 본 논문에서는 슬롯형 분할 나선형 공진기를 이용하여 마이크로스트립 기판상에 구현될 소형 협 대역통과 필터설계기법을 제안한다. 이 필터의 설계기법은 슬롯형 분할 나선형 공진기, 패치사이의 용량성 갭, 그리고 미앤더 구조를 가진 유도성 스터브의 조합으로 구성된 필터 단들의 종속 연결에 근거를 두고 있다. 그 기법하에서 거의 대칭인 필터응답, 가변 대역폭, 그리고 소형필터를 구현할 수 있었다. 제안된 필터는 기존의 필터보다 저지대역에서 우수한 차단특성을 가졌다. 측정결과, 삽입손실은 중심주파수($f_0$=1GHz)에서 -3.47dB, 통과대역에서 -12.62dB 이하, 3dB 대역폭은 약 7.3%로 나타났다. 제작된 필터의 관심 영역 주파수응답은 CST사의 MWS(Microwave Studio)로 전산모의 실험된 값과 잘 일치되었다.

형태주제 분석을 통한 마을마당의 설계특성 -서울시의 사례- (Design Characteristics of Village Parks Through analysis of Structuring Themes -The Case of Seoul City-)

  • In this study, design characteristics of Village Parks in Seoul are investigated through an analysis of structuring themes expressed in spatial design. The goals and objectives of this study are: to emphasize the significance of design themes; and to demonstrate an approach to the design of landscapes through an analysis of structuring themes. For conducting this study, geometric forms and naturalistic forms were examined first. That is, the following 15 structuring themes were examined, as guiding themes: the 90$^{\circ}$rectangular theme; the 45$^{\circ}$/90$^{\circ}$angular theme; the 30$^{\circ}$/60$^{\circ}$ angular theme; circles on circle; concentric circles and radii; arcs and tangents; circle segments; the ellipse; the spiral; the meander; the free ellipse and scallops; the free spiral; the irregular polygon; the organic edge; and clustering and fragmentation. Forty five Village Parks in Seoul, built between 1996 and 1997, were analyzed through these 15 structuring themes. An analysis of Village Parks was conducted by the following two categories: land shape and structuring themes; and design directions and structuring themes. The research results are as follows; 1) Geometric forms are more frequently applied than naturalistic forms. 2) Regardless of land shape, geometric forms derived from simple primary shapes, the square and the circle, are frequently used. And the meander and the irregular polygon among naturalistic forms are frequently used. 3) Regarding design directions and structuring themes, design concepts, symbolic meanings and spatial forms are, to some degree, integrated. 4) The spiral is not applied among geometric forms. And the meander and the irregular polygon, as naturalistic forms, are frequently utilized. Research findings obtained from this study could be used in the designing of future Village Parks. For a profound study, future, research is needed in two-dimensional plans and three-dimensional elements of Village Parks.

무인항공기 자동착륙을 위한 나선형 강하궤적 및 종말유도 설계 (Homing Guidance Law and Spiral Descending Path Design for UAV Automatic Landing)

  • 본 논문에서는 고정익 무인항공기의 그물망 자동착륙을 위한 나선형 강하궤적과 종말 유도기법을 설계하였다. 시야가 확보된 좁은 지역에서 착륙하도록 고정익 항공기의 나선형 강하궤적을 설계하였고, 나선형 강하의 끝점에서 그물망 입사방향을 향하도록 비행경로각 명령을 생성하였다. 종말유도 단계에서는 그물망 중심으로의 정밀한 유도를 위하여 시선각 정보 기반 의사추적 유도기법을 설계하였다. 고정익 무인항공기의 시스템 인식 모델을 이용한 6자유도 수치 시뮬레이션을 수행하여 제안한 나선형 착륙비행의 성능을 검증하였다.

극저온 선형 팽창기용 나선형 밸브의 구조 해석에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Structural Analysis of Spiral Valve for Cryogenic Linear Expander)

  • In this study, a spiral valve which is used with a cryogenic linear expander and composed of plural plate coil shapes was examined. Generally, a spiral valve is well known for having excellent efficiency and low noise characteristics. In order to determine the movement characteristics and to investigate the limit of valve displacement, the stress variations according to the changes of operating pressure, displacement and workable temperature are discussed. From this examination, it is considered that the results of this study will significantly facilitate the design and development of a spiral valve for the cryogenic linear expander.

차량 RKE 리더기용 PIFA형 스파이럴 안테나의 설계 (Design of PIFA type Spiral Antenna for Vehicle RKE Reader)

  • 본 논문에서는 자동차에 사용되는 RKE(Remote Keyless Entry) 시스템용인 중심주파수가 315MHz, 433MHz 및 447MHz이 스파이럴 안테나를 PCB(Printed Circuit Board)상에 설계하고자 한다. 안테나는 선로 급전하였으며, 급전부에는 중심주파수 조정과 임피던스 정합이 용이하도록 PIFA(Planar Inverted-F Antenna) 구조를 적용하였다. 안테나는 PCB상에 인쇄되며 PCB 면적의 5% 정도인 $30mm{\times}20mm$ 이내의 크기를 갖도록 설계하였고, PCB상의 회로소자 ECU (Electronic Control Unit) 케이스, ECU가 장착되는 차체의 영향을 고려하여 설계하였다. 또한 스파이럴 선로상에 칩 인덕터를 삽입하여 315MHz와 447MHz에서 이중공진을 일으키는 이중대역 스파이럴 안테나를 설계하였다. 최종 설계된 안테나는 측정을 통해 안테나 사양을 만족함을 확인하였고, 안테나를 ECU에 장착하여 실험한 결과, 전방향에서 20m이상의 수신거리를 가지면서 정상적으로 동작함을 확인하였다.
