Modern people come to have high standard and variety need for the oneself expression these days. This phenomenon also, appears in the house space clearly. There are design characteristics in an element expressing a lifestyle and personality in the house space and a living room is the space that is important at time to do a design characteristics plan. Therefore, this study is going to analyze the design characteristics of the apartment house which is a representative house type these days. Concretely, there are design characteristics that a color, an Image, a style. This study used questionary survey from June 10, 2008 to July 9. The color analyzed a color and tone through a color palette of PCIS and the living room image used SD(semantic differential method) method by a concrete analysis method. The result of the analysis were as follows; 1) Various colors and tone were prefer in a house future than the house where lived in. 2) It was done prefer to 'comfort' image for the future living room image in the future but 'provocative' image and 'splendid' were not done a choice 3) A 'modern style' was done prefer to of with a house living room style in the future.

Modern society is suffering from the phenomena of low-fertile, ultra-aging, and low-growth. On this social flow, most social classes undergo vulnerable situation and their overall housing and living condition have difficulties. So far many housing guidelines for diverse population were developed, recently, inclusive 'Customized Housing Design Guideline for Childcare Families' in terms of maintaining family and society has been completed. The purpose of this study is to analyze User Benefit Characteristics of 'Customized Housing Design Guideline for Childcare Families'. The research subjects are essential 140 guidelines appropriate to children's development and parents' care. The research method is contents analysis and the analysis criterion are 4 concepts of the User Benefit Criteria- 'Behavioral Facilitation (BF)', 'Physiological Maintenance (PhM)', 'Perceptual Maintenance (PM)', 'Social Facilitation (SF)'. 3 people inter-raters reliability was established. Altogether, the guidelines were rated in the order of PhM>PM>BF>SF, and these characteristics are similar as common universal design guidelines. This showed the supportability of spatial characteristics in the guidelines related to user's special behaviors. Also, the results show the importance of outdoor space planning for safe social interactions. The supportable characteristics of 'Customized Housing Design Guideline for Childcare Families' could be expected to efficiently apply for new housing development in the future.

The Fallingwater, one of Wright's best designs, is known as a good example of "Organic Architecture". Its landscape characteristics are harmonious relationship between architecture and landscape, adaptable siting, composition of spatial and visual structure, floating spaceness, interlocking of water and house, dramatic approach, and vernacular material use. This characteristics had begun from the Prairie architecture, but also had influenced by the culture and art of the Far East. He was open to foreign cultures. Staying in Japan for years, he had travelled China, too. In this process, he might be exposed to Korean art and culture which were under Japan at that time. Comparing the front image of the Songkwang Temple to that of the Fallingwater, their compositions between architecture, water, and landscape are so similar to each other. They are also close to each other in terms of spatial structure. Therefore the landscape characteristics found in the Fallingwater design are more similar to Korean landscape architectural characteristics than Japanese ones. Therefore we are going to suggest the hypothesis that Wright is influenced by Korean landscape design in the design of the Fallingwater. Considering his impact upon the design world, it will be significant if the concept of Korean traditional landscape design is placed behind his design of the great architecture.hitecture.

In this study, six mainland Chinese designer brands-Xander Zhou, Sankuanz, Sean Suen, Feng Chen Wang, Pronounce, and Angel Chen-were selected that had their works presented at both Chinese and global fashion shows between 2016 and 2021. By analyzing the design characteristics of each brand, it is possible to understand the style characteristics and trends of Chinese menswear designs. A case study approach was adopted utilizing literature data, whereby 1663 photos were collected from the fashion information website POP (www.pop-fashion.com). Changes in Chinese men's image and the menswear market were identified. The design characteristics of modern Chinese menswear are as follows. First, the results from analyzing the target brands show that each brand has a distinct personality. Compared with the traditional or formal style, urban casual and sports styles (based on street style) account for a larger proportion. Second, the boundaries between different styles are becoming ambiguous, and contrasting styles are harmoniously expressed by breaking down boundaries through changes and combinations of colors, materials, and details. Third, after examining the overall trend, 2018 was a watershed point, after which the design trend has changed from either conservative or exaggerated to a practical and everyday style, demonstrating a genderless trend.

Digital media changed not only our lifestyle and sense of value but also art and space design, and development of technology will accelerate the alteration. It provided limitless possibility and inspiration to art, architecture and design. In this 'image' era, media communicate with us mostly in visual method, which gets to he realized by visual interface. The purpose of this study is to analyze the tendency of visual interface of contemporary interior design cases in the standpoint of digital media characteristics and suggest directions for future space design. The characteristics of digital media and interface are defined, and how the concept unfolded in art, design is also discussed. In interior design, the concepts come out as various types of visual interface, showing the characteristics of composition of material and immaterial, interaction between visual information and space users and among users, realization of cyberspace and simultaneous coexistence of multiple space-time multi-layer.

This study is to suggest design types and to identify design characteristics of traditional style public buildings. Since the types of such buildings became very diverse recently, proper classification criteria is essential for future design and evaluation. The demand for such buildings is continuously increasing, but the types of design is very varied; thus it seems important to identify the present design conditions, and to be able to suggest desirable directions for better designs. The research analyzes 31 examples of public buildings in Gwangju Metropolitan City and South Jeolla Province, where there are large number of traditional style public buildings than anywhere else in Korea, and tried to analyzed site plan, elevation, space, details and organizes Design types. This study can help to roughly identify the problems of existing design as well as to suggest improvements in the future design.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the characteristics of hippie style in emerging brands pursuing the hippie spirit, examine the changes in hippie style, and apply them to the design development process to propose a hippie style design that reflects contemporary characteristics. The research method of this study was used to grasp the characteristics and current status of hippie style based on a literature review and prior research. Through the analysis of Bode and Story mfg, a new brand that reflects the hippie spirit, the design expression methods and characteristics of modern hippie style were derived, and based on the analysis, the design of the 3D CLO virtual outfit was developed. The results of the study are as follows. First, in addition to the use of eco-friendly materials, the digital technology of the CLO 3D program was applied to the design development process, which made it possible to increase sustainability from the production process. Second, by creating a retro design centered on a striped pattern expressing freedom, revolution, and equality, and a handcrafted design based on a tie-dye pattern, the design was able to express the hippie spirit of loving nature, and through this, a new direction of eco-friendly and modern fashion design was presented.

The nature is the foundation of human life and arts, and human beings have found order and principle amid ceaseless change and harmonization of the nature and diversified patterns and directly or indirectly applied the nature to interior through discovered principles. Interior space to which the organic factors of the nature is an expression of the vitality of the nature and expresses live forms as seen in change, development and growth of living organisms in addition to human feelings. The study aims to recognize the necessity of studies on interior space to which organic expressive characteristics of the nature are applied in uniformed space, suggest expressive characteristics and propose needed basic data required at a time of designing interior space. In this regard, the study has examined works by five contemporary designers including Zaha Hadid, Karim Rashid, Fabio Novembre and Nox with an aim to analyze expressive characteristics of interior design and figure expressive characteristics of organic design found in interior space. According to analyses on preceding literary studies and case studies (14 places), it has been found that organic expressive characteristics in interior space include vision, tactile sensation and auditory sense in terms of sensitivity, immateriality in terms of a property of matter, metaphor and abstraction in terms of the form of natural objects and non-linear curves and free curves in organic design. Organic spaces were characterized by symbolism, directionality, continuity, pattern and superimposition. This conclusion is expected to be useful in subsequent studies on the application of organic expressive characteristic factors at a time of planning interior space in the future.

Contemporary design of food and beverage(F&B) space reflects various needs, not only of eating, but also environmental ones. As a way of meeting this conceptual change and the various needs of contemporary consumers, kitsch expression is often utilized actively. Thus, this study intends to analyze the design characteristics and methods of kitsch expression found in contemporary F&B space and their correlations with sensitivity factors, focusing on relevant cases. Specifically, it examined the definition, origin, and changes of kitsch, and identified the sensitive role of kitsch in interior space. Next, it classified the kitsch characteristics and design methods found in interior design, finally analyzing the characteristics of kitsch expressions in contemporary F&B space by sensitivity factors and their correlations with design methods. As a consequence, it was found that the attempts in contemporary F&B space design to differentiate space through active introduction of various kitsch expressions were fulfilling the sensitive needs of changing consumers by providing new cultural experiences. That is, such attempts are considered to have improved the satisfaction of consumers who value sensitivity, by means of wide exchange of sensitivity between designers and consumers. To raise the sensitive satisfaction of consumers more in future, it is necessary to further continuous and in-depth research on the correlation between kitsch expressions and sensitivity factors in interior design.

Optimization of multi-quality characteristics in injection molded parts is very important, but it is sometimes difficult for part/mold designers. The objective of this study is to develop a practical design methodology for optimizing two-quality characteristics of injection molded parts. To attain this end, we developed a new design-range reduction algorithm based on Taguchi's orthogonal arrays for two characteristics. Then, the algorithm was integrated with commercial injection-molding simulation tools. A feature of the proposed methodology is that it allows field-designers unfamiliar with general optimization methods to be able to apply the methodology to their design problems with ease. Finally, we have applied the proposed design methodology to optimization of weldlines and deflections in an actual bezel model. The results show the usefulness of this methodology.
