In this paper, after studying structural performance for the representative corrugated steel plate used in Korea, we proposed the optimum shape for section of corrugated steel plate considering a width of steel plates that can be produced currently in the factory. Using AISI(1986) in examination for the performance of the corrugated steel plate, we determined the mechanical limit of the optimum sections considering shear force and bending moment of corrugated steel plate and also determined the geometric limit of them considering formability, shapes and ratio between width of steel plate before forming and that after forming. As a result of examination for performance of steel plate applying algorithm for searching optimal sections algorithm developed in this study to the existing representative corrugated steel plate, allowable force and moment of inertia indicated the maximum values at bending radius 76mm and internal bending angle $50^{\circ}$. And as an application result of the optimum design system that used SS490 with 1,550mm of width and 4,700mm of length considering current production situation in Korea, we developed the new section with more than 2 times of structural performance comparing with existing corrugated steel plate.

Due to the recent earthquake that has occurred worldwide, interest in seismic reinforcement of structures is increasing. In order to improve the seismic performance of the structure, the seismic reinforcement of the column should be made. Various seismic retrofit methods are being developed to improve the seismic performance of columns. In this study, in order to improve the seismic performance of RC columns, an numerical study was conducted to evaluate the seismic performance of the columns by applying a surface constrained pressure. For the numerical study, the experimental study on the column was used, and the failure shape and behavior characteristics of the experimental results and the numerical results were compared. As a result of the numerical study, the ductile behavior of the RC columns occurred according to the strength of the surface constraining stress. In addition, ductile behavior occurred almost constant above a certain surface constrained pressure. Compared with the numerical results and the experimental results, he reinforcing effect of the used seismic reinforcement of the column in experimental study was compared with the value of the surface constrained pressure for the RC column, and the seismic reinforcing effect was examined as the surface constrained pressure value for the RC column. In conclusion, in this work, surface constrained stress and constrained strength for ductile behavior of RC columns are derived. Based on the results derived, it is believed that it can be used as basic data on the review of seismic design methods and seismic performance complementary effects using ductile behavior induction of RC columns.

Recently, with the urban redevelopment and the spread of the planned cities, there is increasing interest in the wind environment, which is related not only to design of buildings and landscaping but also to the comfortability of pedestrians. Numerical analysis for wind environment prediction is underway in many fields, such as dense areas of high-rise building or composition of the apartment complexes, a precisive 3D building model is essentially required in this process. Many studies conducted for wind environment analysis have typically used the method of creating a 3D model by utilizing the building layer included in the GIS (Geographic Information System) data. These data can easily and quickly observe the flow of atmosphere in a wide urban environment, but cannot be suitable for observing precisive flow of atmosphere, and in particular, the effect of a complicated structure of a single building on the flow of atmosphere cannot be calculated. Recently, drone photogrammetry has shown the advantage of being able to automatically perform building modeling based on a large number of images. In this study, we applied photogrammetry technology using a drone to evaluate the flow of atmosphere around two buildings located close to each other. Two 3D models were made into an automatic modeling technique and manual modeling technique. Auto-modeling technique is using an automatically generates a point cloud through photogrammetry and generating models through interpolation, and manual-modeling technique is a manually operated technique that individually generates 3D models based on point clouds. And then the flow of atmosphere for the two models was compared and analyzed. As a result, the wind environment of the two models showed a clear difference, and the model created by auto-modeling showed faster flow of atmosphere than the model created by manual modeling. Also in the case of the 3D mesh generated by auto-modeling showed the limitation of not proceeding an accurate analysis because the precise 3D shape was not reproduced in the closed area such as the porch of the building or the bridge between buildings.
The Belt with Rhinoceros-Horn Ornaments(known as a seodae in Korean) from the family of Princess Deokon's descendants housed in the National Hangeul Museum underwent emergency treatment for a special exhibition in 2019 upon the request of the National Hangeul Museum. Priority was given to the restoration of the original form of the severely damaged belt and the repair of its detached horn ornaments. Prior to the conservation treatment, researchers conducted a theoretical study of the belt with rhinoceros-horn adornments to learn the names of its structural components and the changes in form that the type experienced by period, thereby establishing a plan for conservation treatment and setting a direction. Among the belts worn by officials from the Joseon dynasty, rhinoceros-horn ornaments were attached to those of officials of the first rank and were considered the most precious behind the king's belt with its jade ornaments. The rhinoceros horn adorning the belt is classified into three categories according to quality. This belt has horn adornments of the highest quality, falling under the "grape design" category with dark brown dots concentrated in the center. The belt has a rectangular shape and lacks a buckle, reflecting a popular form from the nineteenth century. The structure of the belt was identified over the process of conservation treatment, offering information about its method of production. In addition, comparison of the relic with belts with rhinoceros-horn ornaments depicted in Joseon-period portraits of officials allowed the identification of changes in formal features and the detailed structures of belts with rhinoceros-horn ornaments by period. It confirmed that the belt subject to conservation treatment shows the features of belts with rhinoceros-horn ornaments produced in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries.
The flood prevention capacity of drainage facilities in urban areas has weakened because of the increase in impervious surface areas downtown owing to rapid urbanization as well as localized heavy rains caused by climate change. Detention can be installed in trunk sewers and linked to existing drainage facilities for the efficient drainage of runoff in various urban areas with increasing stormwater discharge and changing runoff patterns. In this study, the concept of detention in trunk sewers, which are storage facilities linked to existing sewer pipes, was applied. By selecting a virtual watershed with a different watershed shape, the relationship between the characteristic factors of detention in the trunk sewer and the design parameters was analyzed. The effect of reducing stormwater runoff according to the installation location and capacity of the reservoir was examined. The relationship between the installation location and the capacity of the detention trunk sewer in the Dowon district of the city of Yeosu, South Korea was verified. The effects of the existing water runoff reduction facility and the detention trunk sewer were also compared and analyzed. As a result of analyzing the effects of reducing internal inundation, it was found that the inundation area decreased by approximately 66.5% depending on the installation location of the detention trunk sewer. The detention trunk sewer proposed in this paper could effectively reduce internal inundation in urban areas.

Object detection in maritime means that the captain detects floating objects that has a risk of colliding with the ship using the computer automatically and as accurately as human eyes. In conventional ships, the presence and distance of objects are determined through radar waves. However, it cannot identify the shape and type. In contrast, with the development of AI, cameras help accurately identify obstacles on the sea route with excellent performance in detecting or recognizing objects. The computer must calculate high-volume pixels to analyze digital images. However, the CPU is specialized for sequential processing; the processing speed is very slow, and smooth service support or security is not guaranteed. Accordingly, this study developed maritime object detection software and implemented it with FPGA to accelerate the processing of large-scale computations. Additionally, the system implementation was improved through embedded boards and FPGA interface, achieving 30 times faster performance than the existing algorithm and a three-times faster entire system.

In the previous study, both the wave characteristics at the tip of composite breakwater and on caisson were investigated by applying olaFlow numerical model of three-dimensional regular waves. In this paper, the same numerical model and layout/shape of composite breakwater as applied the previous study under the action of one directional irregular waves were used to analyze two and three-dimensional spatial change of wave force including the impulsive breaking wave pressure applied to trunk of breakwater, the effect of rear region, and the occurrence of diffracted waves at the tip of caisson located on the high crested rubble mound. In addition, the frequency spectrum, mean significant wave height, mean horizontal velocity, and mean turbulent kinetic energy through the numerical analysis were studied. In conclusion, the larger wave pressure occurs at the front wall of caisson around the still water level than the original design conditions when it generates the shock-crushing wave pressure in three-dimensional analysis condition. Which was not occurred by two-dimensional analysis. Furthermore, it was confirmed that the wave pressure distribution at the caisson changes along the length of breakwater when the same significant incident wave was applied to the caisson. Although there is difference in magnitude, but its variation shows the similar tendency with the case of previous study.
Metamaterials are complexes of elements that can create properties not found in naturally occurring materials, such as changing the direction of forces, creating negative stiffness, or altering vibration and impact properties. In the case of wood pile metamaterials that are easy to manufacture and have excellent performance in reducing vibration and shock in the vertical direction, basic research on variables affecting shock transmission is needed to reduce shock. Although research on impact reduction according to geometrical factors is being conducted recently, studies on the effect of material variables on impact reduction are insufficient. In this paper, finite element analysis was carried out by variablizing the geometrical properties (lamination angle, diameter, length) and material properties (modulus of elasticity, specific gravity, Poisson's ratio) of wood pile cylinders. Through finite element analysis, the shape of the wooden pile cylinder delivering impact was confirmed, and the effect of each variable on the reduction of impact force and energy was considered through main effect diagram analysis, and frequency band analysis was performed through fast Fourier transform. proceeded In order to reduce the impact force and vibration, it was found that the variables affecting the contact area of t he cylinder have a significant effect.

In this study, a jointless bridge that integrates the superstructure and abutment without installing an expansion joint was analyzed. An example of a jointless bridge that has been introduced in Korea since 2009. Owing to the short period of use and lack of experience in design, construction, and maintenance, there is insufficient information regarding the long-term behavior of jointless bridges. When analyzing numerous bridges, the numerical analysis model must maintain the numerical values used and ensure the convenience of model construction. In this study, sensitivity analysis was performed to select a numerical model for various types of jointless bridges using commercial finite element programs, MIDAS Civil and ABAQUS 2018. According to a solid element-based model, we analyzed the mean and maximum relative errors between structural models. Consequently, it was found that the beam element-based model exhibits a significantly small relative error in comparison to the shell element, where a relatively large error was recorded. Therefore, the optimal numerical analysis model, a practical model that maintains the similarity and precision of the displacement shape cause by relative error, was judged to be the most suitable for jointless bridges based on the shell element.
