  • Purpose - Entrepreneurship promotion is emerging as an important economic growth agenda. However, in Korea, entrepreneurship has weakened because of the collapse of the venture bubbles of the 2000s and the global economic recession in 2008, which have induced the business community to choose stability over risk. The Korean government has been implementing several support projects to inspire and promote youth entrepreneurship through various means including financial assistance; however, the perpetuation rate of young entrepreneurship is still low as compared to advanced economies such as the US and EU. This case study focuses on the Youth Start-Up Business Support Program of the Small & Medium Business Corporation, and explores practical alternatives. Further, it aims to suggest managerial factors and a conceptual model for change management factors affecting the business performance creation of a startup company, based on the Small and medium Business Corporation's young venture startup fund. Research design, data, and methodology - Many studies examine the current progress and issues of startup firms, for example, a lack of systematic cultivation of entrepreneurship and startup business training, lack of commercialization funding for youth startup businesses, lack of mentoring, and inadequate infrastructure. From prior research, we address four factors, namely, personal managerial capabilities, innovative business model, sufficient cash flow, and social network, affecting startup companies' business performance. This study involved a sample survey of 200 young entrepreneurs to investigate casual relations between the four factors and business performance. A regression analysis was used to verify the hypotheses. Results - First, in relation to differences in the founder's personal characteristics, age, sales amount, and number of employees significantly impact business performance. Second, regarding the causal relation between the four factors for creating business performance, an innovative business model and social networking have supported the hypotheses, revealing that the more that a start-up founder has an innovative business model and social networking, the more the start-up firms are likely to have better performance (e.g., sales volume, employment, ROE, ROI, etc.). Although the founder's competency and sufficient cash flow have no significant relationship with business performance, the mean value was higher performance for high founder's competency and sufficient cash flow. Conclusions - This study provides basic data on policy support strategies of the Small and Medium Business Corporation, to help young entrepreneurs achieve their start-up business goals. It shows that young entrepreneurship startup firms should strive to explore ideas to satisfy customers' needs, and that changes in customer value and the continuous innovation of business model differentiation are required to actively respond to change management. Moreover, at the infant startup stage, they should activate social network programs to share information, thereby offsetting resource scarcity and managing business risk. Further, the establishment of a long-term vision and the implementation of training programs in related specific fields should be supported to strengthen founders' personal capabilities.

  • The purpose of this study is to compare the perceptions of hairdressers, hairdressers-to-be, and ordinary people on hairdressers. For this, 286 hairdressers, hairdressers-to-be, and ordinary people residing in Daegu and Gyeongbuk were surveyed and analyzed. The study results are as follows: First, the job preferred by hairdressers is running their own salon. Most of those involved in the beauty industry considered that anyone who has an aesthetic sense can become a hairdresser, the average education level is college, and 5-10 years of experience would be adequate. On the other hand, the majority of the ordinary people thought different. Second, most of the hairdressers thought that professional theoretical knowledge and skills are required for hairdressers and that they have the role of leading beauty. On the other hand, the majority of the hairdressers-to-be and ordinary people considered that what it takes to become hairdressers are design sense and creativity and that they should take the responsibility of cleanliness and service. Meanwhile, all the research subjects shared common ideas that the competence required for hairdressers is skills and female hairdressers are preferred. Third, the most common cause for hairdressers to move from a workplace to another was wage-related issues, and the most answered entry-level salary was between KRW 1 million and 1.5 million and average working hours a day 9-10 hours. Fourth, the research subject groups showed significant differences in their perception of the occupation of hairdresser. The results suggest that although the social perception of hairdressers is improving, ordinary people still need to change their perception.

  • The amount of the contaminants that can be adsorbed on the drain was evaluated for the effective remediation of the contaminated soil, and the contaminants adsorptivity of the drain was evaluated by comparing the isothermal adsorption model after carrying out the contaminants adsorption test of the reactants coated on the surface of the drain. The reactant used in the experiment is a natural zeolite, and the contaminants are copper, lead and cadmium. The results that Freundlich and Langmuir adsorption isotherm model are compared to the adsorption amount according to the change of the initial concentration by the contaminants. As a result of the component analysis, because Si, Al and O are contained approximately 28%, 11% and 48%, respectively, it is identified that the material coated on the surface of the drain is the component of the zeolite which is the reactant for the adsorption of the heavy-metal (Cu, Pb, Cd) contaminants. The heavy-metal adsorption kinetic of the zeolite which is the reactant was decreased in order of lead, copper and cadmium. The important factor of the performance evaluation of the adsorbent is the reaction rate, and if zeolite is used as the reactant in the relationship between the maximum amount of adsorption and reaction rate, it can be utilized as the design factor that determine the removal order of the complex heavy-metal. In other words, because the maximum adsorption quantity of lead is smaller compared to copper but the reaction rate is relatively fast, it can be primarily removed, and copper can be removed after removing the lead. It was analyzed that Cadmium can be finally removed after that other heavy-metal is removed.

  • Distribution of fish products from Tongyoung Marine ranching can be classified by three routes such as street-stall, live fish transportation vehicles, and wholesale markets neighboring unloading ports. These methods of distribution, however, have been restricted by limited distribution right, difficulties to differentiate fish prices from other surfaces, simple marketing channels. The ratio of cultured live fish circulated in market is increasing while naturally caught live fish is decreasing and the fresh fish shows a little of increasing rate. Consumers purchasing routes mainly depend on the live fish transportation merchants. For fresh fish traditional market plays an important role in trade. Convenience for consumers and quality of products are main factors in making decision of purchases. Bargaining power, however, belongs to the live fish transportation merchants. The demand of special markets for live fish was very strong, and the convenience and quality are relatively important required factors. Catch from Tongyoung Marine ranching has very good reputation as the possibility of being a good brand. Expecting possibility of quality differentiation was higher than price differentiation specially. The possible conclusion of a contract of a supply was suspicious however. Preliminary quality evaluation revealed that the catch is better than the cultured but worse than naturally grown fish. A merchandising is to be in a better position in the formation of prices by giving $\ulcorner$brand image$\lrcorner$ to potential consumers. The target markets are retail stores such as restaurants for raw fish and final consumers. The staple markets are retail stores. Possible items of products are live fish, fresh fish for cook, and fresh fish for raw fish. It is necessary for the catch to be informed as new functional products that have been improved in safety and quality, since the product positioning is similar but not well known to consumers. To secure a brand it is required to register a trademark, eco-label product design or packing, use real name in tranction, introduce recall system, and put label. Price higher than naturally grown live fish should be targeted. Establishing broad distribution channel, wholesale market, franchise are required. To secure enough catch and control shipment of products facilities of containing live fish are necessary. Instead of dealing with live fish only, it would be better to. sell fresh fish and live fish simultaneous. Strategically promotion focuses on advertisement of Marin ranching at first and then focuses on the catch from the marine ranching.

  • As life, once immersed in labor, changes with values and lifestyles, individuals consume or participate in culture and arts for learning, meeting of intellectual needs, pleasure, and exchange. As culture and art spaces have increased in recent times, these spaces have been transformed into places to create, view and exchange culture and art, and to consume cultural goods. Culture and art spaces have created and developed new genres and technologies that give viewers the opportunity to communicate and participate, allowing them to understand and accumulate works of media. A media façade thus gives a preference to places for visitors by giving an impression over a short period of time in culture and art spaces that are not areas for exhibitions and performances, and providing an opportunity to more easily approach and understand works and culture and art spaces. A media façade is a type of medium that imparts aesthetics and information by installing LED lighting on the exterior wall of a building for the realization of media functions. In order to analyze the effect of the media façade on preferences for culture and art spaces, a research model was established with media façade characteristics as independent variables and preferences for culture and art spaces as dependent variables. As a result, media façade design and media features influenced satisfaction, while the media characteristics of the media façade influenced recommendation and revisiting, suggesting that many changes will take place in culture and art spaces.

  • Amid public's growing interest on garden and more leisure time of modern life-style, there is an effort by the government to utilize forest as public garden. In order to utilize forests as pubic garden, a new concept of "Forest Garden" should be defined and introduced first. Furthermore, introducing a new concept requires academically analyzing values of a new concept before a new concept is widely used. Thus, we aimed to clarify the concept of forest garden by conducting Delphi technique research and factor-analysis of survey results. More specifically, delphi technique research was conducted to extract composition elements and explanation elements of forest garden. Factor analysis was conducted on the top 25 elements and 5 values were extracted as a result. They are form, scenery, ecology, history/cuture and usefulness which are essential values required of forest garden. Forest garden should have all of 5 values and be capable of function as both forest and garden which would also need continuous maintenance. We believe this study is the first one to establish definition of forest garden and more specific and realistic definitions need to be built through continuous research, 000 experiment and on-site evaluation. We also believe that this study will serve as foundation for further efforts in building forest garden in various space and in defining proper concept of forest garden.

  • We propose an practical embodiment-based programming training course for middle school students using Arduino and conduct survey before and after the curriculum. Arduino is an open source physical computing platform that integrates the IDE used in processing language. It is a low-cost, relatively simple I/O interface compared to other platforms, and because of its practical formability, it is educational material suitable for programming. Subsequent surveys will provide feedback on changes in cognition of programming needs and improvement in thinking skills. In this study, the program based on embody-based programming using Arduino was conducted for 8 weeks for each first grade, and 112 middle school students for two years from '16 to '17. Based on the theoretical and practical training, the training was based on the application of the ultrasonic sensor to the RC car and the preparation of the adduction quadrotor drone. The purpose of this study is to prove that the recognition, necessity, and programming education of middle school students are effective for the improvement of thinking ability through the program based on embody-based programming using Arduino.
