결빙 증식 최소화를 위한 다중 익형 형상 최적설계 (Design Optimization of Multi-element Airfoil Shapes to Minimize Ice Accretion)

  • 항공기가 빙점 이하의 습도가 높은 구름대를 지날 때 액적이 항공기와 충돌하면 날개, 동체 등 항공기 구성품에 결빙이 발생한다. 특히 항공기의 날개에 결빙이 증식되면 공력 성능의 저하와 비행 안정성의 감소 등의 치명적인 안전 문제를 초래할 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 항공기 날개에 적용되는 고양력 장치인 다중 익형의 결빙 증식량이 최소가 되도록 형상 최적설계를 수행하였다. 3차원 Reynolds-Averaged Navier-Stokes 지배 방정식을 이용하여 공력해석을 수행하였고, 다물리 전산해석을 통해 결빙의 형상 및 증식량을 예측하였다. 최적설계의 목적함수는 결빙 증식량 최소화로 설정하였고, 설계변수는 Slat과 Flap의 전개 각도와 위치를 정의하는 형상 변수 6개를 선정하였다. 설계 과정에서 목적함수의 평가는 크리깅 근사모델을 사용하여 대체하였고 유전자 알고리즘을 적용하여 최적 형상을 도출하였다. 최적화를 수행한 결과, Slat과 Flap에 최적의 전개 각도와 위치를 적용하였을 때 결빙 증식량이 약 8% 감소하였다.

  • In this study, genetic algorithm mixed binary and real encoding is proposed to deal with design variables of various types. And that is applied to optimum design of Multi-stage gear drive. Design of pressure vessel which is mixed discrete and continuous variables is applied to verify reasonableness of proposed genetic algorithm. The proposed genetic algorithm is applied for the gear ratio optimization and the volume minimization of geared motor which is used in field. In result, it shows that the volume has decreased about 8% compared with the existing geared motor.

  • Feasibility study on conceptual design tool for liquid metal reactor has been conducted to optimize the thermohydraulic and neutronic design parameters. To accomplish this task the neutronic code PRISM, fuel performance code and scaling method have been included into the conceptual design support system. ALMR(PRISM 303MWe) has been adopted as the reference plant and principally according to the power level, conceptual design parameters are optimized so that energy balance and neutronics balance seem to be satisfied. This paper presents only the results of optimization on primary system including the IHX system.

  • The main objective of this paper is to propose the optimal design method of forging process using genetic algorithm. Design optimization of forging process was doing about one stage and multi stage. The objective function is considered the filling of die. The chosen design variables are die geometry in multi stage and initial billet shape in one stage. We performed FE analysis to simulated forging process. The optimized preform and initial billet shape was obtained by genetic algorithm and FE analysis. To show the efficiency of GA method in forging problem are solved and compared with published results.

  • The important dynamic specifications in the aluminum automobile body design are the vibrations and crashworthiness in the views of ride comforts and safety. Thus, considerable effort has been invested into improving the performance of mechanical structures comprised of the interactive multiple sub-structures. Most mechanical structures are complex and are essentially multi-criteria optimization problems with objective functions retained as constraints. Each weight factor can be defined according to the effects and priorities among objective functions, and a feasible Pareto-optimal solution exists for the criteria-defined constraints. In this paper, a multi-criteria design based on the Pareto-optimal sensitivity is applied to the vibration qualities and crushing characteristics of front structure in the automobile body design. The vibration qualities include the idle, wheel unbalance and road shake. The crushing characteristic of front structure is the axial maximum peak load.

  • TFT2DS was utilized to provide the usefulness as an analytic and design tool. In this paper, the general effects of channel length of an inverted staggered amorphous silicon thin film transistor on its characteristics were investigated. The results obtained from these experiments would be adopted to the optimized device designs and advanced simulations of their electrical properties.

  • This paper introduces that the machine tools's feed system optimizes by modeling for simulation and adjusting drive control parameter. The first method is frequency response of speed loop with design parameter by use of MATLAB application, in order that other axis can do equal to bandwidth. The second meted uses various sensor for analyzing machine tools's structure and adjustes jirk limitter.

  • 현재 제철소 냉연공장에서는 수지처리 강판을 생산하기 위하여 수지 coater를 사용하고 있다. 그런데 강판의 이면 피복 시, applicator roll에 대한 back-up roll의 균일 하중 부하로 수지의 균일한 피복이 실현되나, 전면을 피복할 때 하중 부하를 위한 별도의 tool이 없는 상태로 강판의 hunting에 대응 불가능한 현장 layout으로 되어 전면 수지부착량 편차가 크게 발생되었다. (중략)

  • This study covers the optimum design of the 5-axis machine tool. In addition, the intelligent control secures structural stability through the optimum design of the structure of the 5-axis machine center, main spindle, and the tilting index table. The big requirement, like above, ultimately leads to speed-up operation. And this is inevitable to understand the vibration phenomenon and its related mechanical phenomenon in terms of productivity and its accuracy. In general, the productivity is correlated with the operation speed and it has become bigger by its vibration scale and the operation speed so far. Vibration phenomenon and its heat-transformation of the machine is naturally occurred during the operation. If these entire machinery phenomenons are interpreted through the constructive understanding and the interpretation of the naturally produced vibration and heat-transformation, it would be very useful to improve the rapidity and its stability of the machine operation indeed. In this dissertation, the problems of structure through heating, stability, dynamic aspect and safety about intelligent 5-wheel machine tool are discovered to examine. All these discoveries are applied to the structure in order to enhance the density of it. It aims to improve the stability.

A Methodology of Optimal Design for Solar Heating and Cooling System Using Simulation Tool

  • Solar energy is one of the most important alternative energy sources which have been shown to meet high levels of heating and cooling demands in buildings. However, the efficiencies to satisfy these demands using solar energy significantly vary based on the characteristics of individual building. Therefore, this paper is focused on developing the methodology which can help to design optimal solar system for heating and cooling to be in cooperated within the existing buildings according to their load profiles. This research has established the Solar Heating and Cooling (SHC) system which is composed of collectors, absorption chiller, boiler and heat storage tank. Each component of SHC system is analyzed and made by means of Modelica Language and Pistache tool is verified the results. Sequential approximate optimization (SAO) and meta-models determined to 15 design parameters to optimize SHC system. Finally, total coefficient of performance (COP) of the entire SHC system is improved approximately 7.3% points compared to total COP of the base model of the SHC system.
