INORGANIC SELENIUM FOR SHEEP I. SELENIUM BALANCE AND SELENIUM LEVELS IN THE DIFFERENT RUMINAL FLUID FRACTIONS

  • The effects of inorganic selenium (Se), selenate and selenite on Se balance levels in the different ruminal fluid fractions were studied using Japanese Corriedale wethers with an average body weight of 47 kg. A $3{\times}3$ Latin square design was used with three animal, three periods and three treatments. In each period, there was 7 d dietary adjustment followed by 5 d total collection of urine and feces. Ruminal fluid samples were obtained at 0, 1, 3, 5 and 7 h postprandially on the final day of the collection period. The three dietary treatments were: (1) without Se supplementation (control); (2) with Se supplement as sodium selenate; and (3) sodium selenite at a rate of 0.2 mg Se/kg dietary DM. The basal diet was timothy hay (Phleum pratense L.) fed 2% of body weight/d. Results indicated that Se balance were higher (p < 0.05) for those animals under supplementation than those animals under control. Overall data gathered showed a similar digestion balance of selenate and selenite in sheep. Inorganic Se, both selenate and selenite produced positive Se contents of the ruminal feed particles and protozoa. Bacterial Se increased (p < 0.05) on the first three hours post-prandially in Se supplemented diets. Gross ruminal fluid fraction, although there was improvement on their Se content under the supplemented diets, the changes were insignificant over the control. free inorganic Se and Se in soluble protein of the ruminal fluid were not significantly different for selenate and selenite. Most of the Se in the ruminal fluids of the animals under supplementation were insoluble, indicating the influence of rumen environments on Se bioavaliability.

  • 비즈니스 환경에서 BYOD(Bring Your Own Device) 활용은 지속적으로 확대되고 있다. 시스코(Cisco)는 2012년 600개 기업을 대상으로 BYOD 활용에 관한 설문조사를 실시했다. 조사 결과 95%의 기업에서 이미 BYOD 사용을 허용하고 있으며, 업무 생산성이 향상된 것으로 나타났다. 가트너(Gartner)는 BYOD 도입으로 보안위협이 증가할 것으로 예측했으며, 보안위협 완화 방안으로 네트워크 접근통제(Network Access Control, NAC) 도입을 제안했다. 또한 접근통제 중요도에 따라 네트워크 영역을 나누고, 사용자 역할과 단말기 유형을 고려하여 접근통제 정책을 상세히 정의하고, 네트워크에 연결된 모든 단말기에 강제로 적용할 것을 주장했다. 본 논문에서는 IEEE 802.1X와 DHCP 핑거프린팅(fingerprinting)을 응용하여 네트워크 접근통제를 설계 구현하고, BYOD 환경에 적용하여 접근통제 성능을 해석하고자 한다.

저준위 신호세기와 실외 환경 특징을 활용한 측위 시스템 설계 및 구현 (A Design and Implementation of Positioning System Using Characteristics of Outdoor Environments and Weak Signal Strength)

  • 산재한 무선 네트워크를 활용하는 WPS(WiFi Positioning System) 측위시스템의 대표적 실내 측위 기법은 핑거프린트이다. Radio map 으로 구성된 AP의 정보와 수집된 AP의 정보 차이를 계산하여 측위를 수행한다. 즉, 저장된 정보와 오차가 가장 적은 위치를 판단하는 연산이다. 그러나 기존의 실내 핑거프린트와 radio map 방식을 실외에 사용할 경우 측위 성능 저하와 비용의 증가 등의 문제점이 발생한다. 본 논문에서는 기존 WPS 측위 시스템의 특징에 대하여 설명하고 기존 핑거프린트 연산의 문제점에 대하여 언급한다. 또한 이를 해결하기 위한 실외 환경의 특징을 적용한 Radio map 구축과 WPS_WS(WiFi Positioning System_Weak Signal) 기법에 대하여 설계 및 구현 결과를 설명한다. 그리고 기존 시스템과 제안한 WPS_WS의 성능을 테스트를 통해 비교하여 이에 대한 결과를 제시한다.

초등학생에게 적용한 환경보건 교육프로그램이 알레르기 지식과 증상에 미치는 효과 (Effects of an Education Program on Knowledge about Environmental Health and Allergy Symptoms among Elementary School Students)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to analyze the effects of a health education program to improve knowledge about environmental health and allergy symptoms among elementary school students. Methods: This study has nonequivalent control group pre-post test design. Participants of this study were 60 elementary students (30 experimental and 30 control) who agreed to participate in the study. The education program consisted of information on environmental health and allergies, the atmosphere, indoor environments, food and allergies, and activities with parents. The program was carried out one time (50 minutes) per week during 6 weeks. Knowledge and symptoms of allergies were recorded before and after the program among both groups. The collected data were analyzed by ANCOVA and t-test using SAS program. Results: There was a significant increase in knowledge about allergies in the experimental group compared to the control group, but allergic symptoms were similar in the two groups. Conclusion: These findings suggest that environmental health education programs are effective in the area of school health nursing for increasing knowledge about environmental health and allergies. Further research is needed to develop programs for reducing allergic symptoms as an environment health problem among children.

시각 장애인을 위한 Android OS 기반의 Portable Navigation System 설계 및 구현 과 N : N Service (The Design and Implementation Android OS Based Portable Navigation System For Visually Impaired Person and N : N Service)

  • 도시의 급격한 발전으로 공사의 증가가 증가하게 되고 이동 차량 또한 증가 하게 된다. 이는 자연히 시각 장애인들의 보행을 점점 더 어렵게 만든다. 이러한 어려움을 해결하고자 Android 기반의 Portable Navigation System을 도입하여 시각 장애인의 보행을 돕고, 서비스 센터에서 시각 장애인의 이동을 실시간으로 모니터링 하여서 시각 장애인의 보행에 도움을 주고자 한다. 노인이 서비스 센터에 배치되어 노인 인구 증가 문제의 해소 방안도 제공한다. 시각 장애인이 들고 다닐 수 있는 형태의 Android 기반의 Portable Navigation System은 GPS, Camera, Audio, wifi를 가지고 있어, GPS위치 정보와 Camera 영상 정보를 실시간으로 wifi망을 이용해 서비스 센터로 전송을 하여 주고, 서비스 센터에서 시각 장애인의 GPS Location 정보를 바탕으로 그 위치를 지도에 표시하고, Camera 영상 정보로 시각 장애인이 바라보고 있는 곳의 상황을 모니터링 하며, Audio를 통해, 실시간으로 대화를 통해서 길안내 해주는 Navigation System이다.

철도 저밀도노선 효율성 향상을 위한 차상중심 열차제어시스템 연구 (A study on the on-board centered train control system to enhance efficiency of low-density railway line)

  • 국내 철도 저밀도 지선구간에서는 주요노선에 적용되고 있는 고가의 지상설비들이 운용됨에 따라 적자로 운영되는 등 효율성 측면에서 문제가 되고 있어, 열차 차상에서 직접 선로변 설비를 제어할 수 있는 새로운 개념의 차상중심 열차제어시스템의 개발에 대한 필요성이 대두되고 있다. 이에 따라 본 논문에서는 국내의 앞선 정보통신기술(ICT)을 접목하여 지상설비를 최소화하는 동시에 기존 시스템을 대체가능한 차상제어시스템을 제안하였으며, 개념 및 상세설계 결과와 모형시험환경 구축을 통한 기능 확인 수행내용을 제시하였다.

Effects of Supplementary Chinese Milk Vetch Silage and Rapeseed Meal on the Performance and Rumen Fermentation of Lambs Given Ammoniated Rice Straw Based Diet

  • This study was proposed to investigate effects of inclusion of Chinese milk vetch silage (MVS) and rapeseed meal (RSM) on the growth and rumen fermentation of Hu-sheep. Fifty weanling lambs were randomly divided into five equal groups and offered ammoniated rice straw (ABRS) ad libitum along with 100 g concentrate (Trial 1). The animals in $T_0$, $T_1$, $T_2$, $T_3$ and $T_4$ group were respectively supplemented with MVS at levels of 0, 0, 7, 14 or 21% and with RSM at levels of 0, 15, 10, 5 or 0%. Daily gain of lambs was significantly (p<0.05) higher in $T_1$, $T_2$ and $T_3$ group than that in $T_0$ and $T_4$ group. Feed conversion ratio was greatly reduced in supplemented groups as compared with $T_0$ group. In trial 2, five sheep with rumen cannulae were used in a $5{\times}5$ Latin square design. The experimental treatments were as described in Trial 1, but without concentrate. The intake of AVRS was significantly (p<0.05) lower in $T_4$ group than that in $T_0$ group, and also significantly (p<0.05) lower than those in $T_1$ and $T_2$ group. Little difference among all treatments was found in 48h DM degradability of ABRS, MVS and RSM, and in rumen pH value and microbial protein concentration. Rumen concentrations of individual and total VFA tended to be higher in supplemented groups than those in $T_0$ group.These rusults suggest that supplementation with RSM or RSM plus MVS can effectively improve the performance of lambs, and may fail to influence markedly the rumen digestion of ABRS and rumen environments.

A Development of Home Mess-Cleanup Robot with Entertainment Function

  • The vacuum-cleaner had made the burden of house chore lighten but the operation labour of a vacuum-cleaner had been so severe. Recently, the cleaning robot was producted to perfectly solve the cleaning labour of a house but it also was not successful because it still had a problem of mess-cleaning, which is the clean-up of big trash and the arrangement of newspapers, clothes, etc. The cleaning robot is to just vacuum dust and small trash and has no function to arrange and take away before the automatic vacuum-cleaning. For this reason, the market for the cleaning robot is not yet built up. So, we need a design method and technological algorithm of new automatic machine to solve the problem of mess-cleanup in house. In this paper, a Home Mess-Cleanup Robot(HMR), which has a practical function of the automatic mess-cleanup, is developed. It need functions of agile automatic navigation, novel manipulation system for mess-cleanup. The automatic navigation system has to be controlled for the full scanning of living room, to recognize the absolute position and orientation of the self, the precise tracking of the desired path, and to distinguish the mess object to clean-up from obstacle object to just avoid. The manipulation system, which is not needed in the vacuum-cleaning robot, must have the functions, how to distinguish big trash to clean from mess objects to arrange, how to grasp in according to the form of mess objects, how to move to the destination in according to mess objects and arrange them. Then, it should be an intelligent system so that the mess cleaning task can be autonomously performed in a wide variety of situations and environments. It need to also has the entertainment functions for the good communication between the human and HMR. Therefore, the Home Mess-cleanup Robot with Entertainmental Human Interface is developed in this paper. Finally, the good performance of the designed machine, HMR'4, is confirmed through the results of the mess clean-up and arrangement.

Supervised Hybrid Control Architecture for Navigation of a Personal Robot

  • As personal robots coexist with a person with a role to help a person, while adapting various human life and environment, the personal robots have to accommodate frequently-changing or different-from-home-to-home environment. In addition, personal robots may have many kinds of different Kinematic configurations depending on the capabilities. Some may have a mobile base and others may have arms and a head. The motivation of this study arises from this not-well-defined home environment and varying Kinematic configuration. So the goal of this study is to develop a general control architecture for personal robots. There exist three major architectures; deliberative, reactive and hybrid. We found that these are applicable only for the defined environment with a fixed Kinematic configuration. Neither could accommodate the above two requirements. For the general solution, we propose a Supervised Hybrid Architecture (SHA), in which we use double layers of deliberative and reactive controls, distributed control with a modular design of Kinematic configurations, and real-time Linux OS. Deliberative and reactive actions interact through a corresponding arbitrator. These arbitrators help a robot to choose an appropriate architecture depending on the current situation to successfully perform a given task. The distributed control modules communicate through IEEE 1394 for the easy expandability. With a personal robot platform with a mobile base, two arms, a head and a pan-tilt stereo eye system, we tested the developed SHA for static as well as dynamic environments. For this application, we developed decision-making rules for selecting appropriate control methods for several situations of navigation task. Examples are shown to show the effectiveness.

임베디드 리눅스 기반의 휴대용 Http 라이브 스트리밍 전송기 구현에 관한 연구 (The Study on the implementation of Portable Http Live Streaming Transmitter based the Embedded Linux)

  • 기존 비디오 라이브 스트리머에 비해서 매우 저렴하고 저전력으로 휴대용으로 쉽게 동작하는 HLS(Http Live Streaming) 전송기를 임베디드 리눅스 기반으로 개발 및 구현하였다. HLS 전송기를 저렴하게 구현하기 위해 Arm11 프로세서 위에 임베디드 리눅스를 운영체제로 포팅 하였고 오픈 소스인 FFmpeg와 Segmenter을 이용하여 HLS 프로토콜을 구현하였다. 노트북, iPhone, android phone, 노트북을 수신단말기로 이용하여 개발한 임베디드 리눅스 기반의 휴대용 HLS 전송기의 성능을 평가하였다. 본 논문에서 개발한 HLS 전송기는 애플사가 제안한 HLS 권고 규격 이상의 성능을 구현하였음을 성능평가 실험을 통해 확인하였다. 본 논문에서 개발한 제품의 활용분야는 실시간으로 현장의 위급상황을 현지 지휘소나 원거리 사령부에 전달해야하는 경우 HLS를 개인이 착용하여 이동하면서 실시간으로 상황영상을 전달하는 분야에 활용될 수 있을 것으로 생각된다.
