3',4'-Dihydroxyl Groups in Luteolin are Important for Its Inhibitory Activities against ADAMTS-4

  • A disintegrin and metalloprotease with thrombospondin domains (ADAMTS) are a member of peptidase and involved in processing of von Willebrand factor as well as cleavage of aggrecan, versican, brevican and neurocan. Among 19 subfamilies of human ADAMTS, ADAMTS-4 is a zinc-binding metalloprotease and is a famous therapeutic target for arthritis. It has been reported that a flavonoid luteolin shows inhibitory activity against ADMATS-4. In this study, we verified that luteolin is a potent inhibitor of ADAMTS-4 and probed the molecular basis of its action. On the basis of a docking study, we proposed a binding model between luteolin and ADAMTS-4 in which 3',4'-dihydroxyl groups in luteolin formed hydrogen bonding with ADMATS-4 and these interactions are important for its inhibitory activity against ADAMTS-4.

Optimal design for face milling cutter by simulation

  • Based on the cutting force model, three-dimensional optimal design model was developed and optimal designed tool which is minimized cutting force is developed by computer simulation technique. In this model the objective function which is minimized resultant cutting force was used and the variables are radial rake angle, axial rake angle, lead angle of the tool. The cutting forces using conventional and optimal tools by simulation, are compared and analyzed in time and frequency domains. In time domain the cutting force of optimal tool in feed direction was more reduced and less fluctuated than that of conventional tool. Cutting forces of optimal tool in X-and Z-directions are shown a little increased than those of conventional tool. In frequency domain amplitude of insert frequency components of optimal tool in feed direction was more reduced than that of convent- ional tool. The amplitudes of insert frequency components of optimal tool in X-and Z-direction are a little increased than those of conventional tool. As the reduction of amplitude and fluctuations of the cutting force, Optimal tool is considered that tool life and surface roughness would be improved, and stable cutting would be expected.

MR 댐퍼를 이용한 전자제어 현가장치의 승차감 평가 (Ride Comfort Evaluation of Electronic Control Suspension Using a Magneto-rheological Damper)

  • This paper presents design and control of electronic control suspension(ECS) equipped with controllable magnetorheological(MR) damper for passenger vehicle. In order to achieve this goal, a cylindrical type MR fluid damper that satisfies design specification of a middle-sized commercial passenger vehicle is proposed. After manufacturing the MR damper with design parameters, their field-dependent damping forces are experimentally evaluated and compared with those of a conventional damper. A quarter-vehicle MR ECS system consisting of sprung mass, spring, tire, controller and the MR damper is established in order to investigate the ride comfort performances. On the basis of the governing equation of motion of the suspension system, five control strategies(soft, hard, comfort, sport and optimal mode) are formulated. The proposed control strategies are then experimentally realized with the quarter-vehicle MR ECS system. Control performances such as vertical acceleration of the car body and tire deflection are evaluated in frequency domains on random road condition. In addition, performance comparison of WRMS(weighted root mean square) of the quarter-vehicle MR ECS system on random road are undertaken in order to investigate ride comfort characteristics.

아키텍처 자산의 복잡도 측정에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Complexity Measurement of Architecture Assets)

  • 자산의 복잡성을 측정하기 위해 프로그램의 논리적인 복잡도의 측정을 제공하는 척도를 베이스로 하여 각 자산의 특징 값을 표현하고 있는지 평가하는 방법을 사용 한다. 본 연구에서는 소프트웨어 컴포넌트를 기본자산으로 구성하여 표준화된 설계모형을 확보하고, 이를 기반으로 재사용 가능한 확장된 자산을 설계할 경우 자산의 복잡도를 측정하기 위한 방안을 제시하고자 한다. 그러나 우리가 제안하는 자산관리 시스템의 각 자산은 두 가지 영역의 자산을 합성한 복합자산으로 구성되어 있으므로 이 방법만으로는 정확한 측정을 하기 어렵다. 따라서 아키텍처 하부에 저장된 기본 자산의 특성 값을 반영하여야 전체적인 자산의 복잡성을 측정가능하다. 따라서 응집력에 반비례하고 자산연관도안의 각 자산에 대한 연관값의 누적합에 비례하는 합성자산의 복잡성을 측정 가능하다.

부모.자녀건강학회지 논문분석 (창간호-2009) (Analysis of Research Papers Published in the Korean Parent-Child Health Journal (1998-2009))

  • Purpose: This study was aimed to classify the major subjects and theme and to analyze the data collection and analysis method in research papers published in the Korean Parent-Child Health Journal of the Academic Society of Parent-Child Health since 1998. Methods: A total 152 studies published from the first edition to volume 12, number 2 were reviewed using structured analysis criteria developed by researchers; research type, research design, research subjects, research theme, data collection and analysis method. Research theme was founded 4 nursing domains. Data collection and analysis method of papers were limited to quantitative and qualitative researches. Results: One hundred papers conducted quantitative research; 79.0% used survey design. Most of the data collection and analysis method in quantitative research were self-reported questionnaire (69.4%) and parametric statistics respectively. The research subjects of sixty three papers were parent with well or child. The common domain studies was human related concepts such as raring. Conclusion: The findings of this study suggest that published studies have been improved and diversified, however, detailed and clear evaluation tool that assess study process and method should be developed as a way to further improve the quality of published papers in the Korean Parent-Child Health Journal.

레지스터 기반 비동기 FIFO 구조 설계 기법 (Design Technique of Register-based Asynchronous FIFO)

  • 현재 SoC 설계에 사용되는 많은 IP들은 대부분 이들이 연결되는 버스 클럭과 주파수가 서로 다른 클럭을 사용하며 이를 위해서는 비동기 FIFO가 필수적이다. 그러나 아직 많은 수의 비동기 FIFO가 잘못 설계되고 있으며 이에 따른 비용이 심각하다. 이에 본 논문에서는 레지스터 기반의 비동기 FIFO를 유효비트를 사용하여 설계함으로써 비동기 회로에서 발생하는 metastability를 없애고 비동기 카운터의 오류를 수정함으로써 비동기 클럭들 사이에서 안전하게 데이터를 전송할 수 있는 FIFO 구조를 제안한다. 또한 이 FIFO 구조의 HDL 기술을 바탕으로 합성하여 다른 방식의 FIFO 설계 방식과 비교 평가한다.

  • The current AISC341-10 standard specifiesa value of 0.02 radian for the minimum rotation capacity of connections for the intermediate steel moment frame system. However, despite of the advances realized in the domains of performance evaluation method and analysis method, research onthe minimum rotation capacity of the intermediate steel moment frame systemsatisfying the seismic performance has not been conducted in detail. In this study, the intermediate moment frame systemisdesigned with respect to current standards and the seismic performance in accordance with the rotational capacity of connections is evaluated using the seismic performance evaluation method presented in FEMA-P695. The minimum rotation capacity of intermediate steel moment frames required to satisfy seismic performance as well as the major design values affecting the seismic performance of moment frame areestimated. To that goal, the design parameters are selected and various target frames are designed. The analysis models of the main nonlinear elements are also developed for evaluating seismic performance. The resultsshow that the 20-story structure doesnot meet the seismic performance even if it satisfies the rotation capacity of 0.02 radian.

Optimization of structural and mechanical engineering problems using the enriched ViS-BLAST method

  • In this paper, an enhanced Violation-based Sensitivity analysis and Border-Line Adaptive Sliding Technique (ViS-BLAST) will be utilized for optimization of some well-known structural and mechanical engineering problems. ViS-BLAST has already been introduced by the authors for solving truss optimization problems. For those problems, this method showed a satisfactory enactment both in speed and efficiency. The Enriched ViS-BLAST or EVB is introduced to be vastly applicable to any solvable constrained optimization problem without any specific initialization. It uses one-directional step-wise searching technique and mostly limits exploration to the vicinity of FNF border and does not explore the entire design space. It first enters the feasible region very quickly and keeps the feasibility of solutions. For doing this important, EVB groups variables for specifying the desired searching directions in order to moving toward best solutions out or inside feasible domains. EVB was employed for solving seven numerical engineering design problems. Results show that for problems with tiny or even complex feasible regions with a larger number of highly non-linear constraints, EVB has a better performance compared to some records in the literature. This dominance was evaluated in terms of the feasibility of solutions, the quality of optimum objective values found and the total number of function evaluations performed.

주파수 필터링 하이브리드 복합재의 단순화된 설계 방법 (Simplified Design Methodology for Frequency Filtering Hybrid Composites)

  • 본 논문에서는 하이브리드 복합재를 전자기학적 성능을 단순화하여 설계하는 방법을 제안한다. 제안 방법은 전통적인 간단한 이론들을 바탕으로 하며 최적 설계 등과 같은 기존 하이브리드 복합재의 설계 방법들에 비하여 간단하다. 따라서, 실제적인 문제에 대하여 보다 쉽게 적용할 수 있다. 본 논문은 등가 유전율 및 다층 유전체에서의 전파 전송 이론을 이용한다. 우선, 설계 영역을 전자기학적 기능에 따라 몇 개의 영역으로 구분하고 각 영역을 등가 유전율로 표현하였다. 입사각 안정성과 투과 성능을 고려하여 가능한 유전율 조합을 산출하고 몇 번의 전자기 성능 해석을 통하여 기본 설계 형상을 도출하였다. 제안한 설계 방법의 타당성을 간접적으로 확인하기 최종 설계안에 대한 전파투과시험을 수행하였다.

유니버설 디자인을 위한 색채 인지도 개선방향에 관한 연구 - 서울시 버스정류장 쉘터를 중심으로 - (Study on color perception improvement for universal design - In respect of bus station in Seoul -)

  • 본 연구는 서울시 개선사업으로 인해 변경된 공공시설물 중 버스정류장 쉘터에 관하여 연구하였다. 현재 버스정류장 쉘터의 색채는 서울시에서 지정한 대표색 중 기와진회색과 고궁갈색이 주조색으로 사용되고 있는데 도시환경과의 조화에 있어서는 자연스럽게 어울리지만 유니버설 디자인의 이론에 입각하여 볼 때 사회적, 신체적 약자에 속하는 아동집단과 노인집단이 이용하고 인지하는 데는 다소 어려움이 있는 것으로 나타났다. 아동집단과 노인집단의 특성 및 환경에 대해 분석하고, 서울시에 거주하는 아동집단과 노인집단을 대상으로 일반의식, 색상 선호도, 버스정류장 쉘터에 대하여 질문하였다. 본 연구는 공공시설물에 적절한 유니버설 디자인의 색채 영역에 적용시킬 수 있는 기반을 마련하고 공공공간의 영역을 하나의 시설물로만 보는 것이 아니라 시설물을 포함한 환경과의 조화 속에 시설물을 쉽게 인지하는 것에 의의가 있다. 그것이 앞으로 공공시설물이 나아가야 할 방향임을 인식하고 유니버설 디자인을 위한 색채 인지 방향에 관한 연구를 위해 참고자료로 활용되는 데 그 목적이 있다.
