This study investigated the cognitive process of fashion design images through eye activity tracking. Differences in the cognitive process and gaze activity according to image elements were confirmed. The results of the study are as follows. First, a difference was found between groups in the gaze time for each section according to the model and design. Although model diversity is an important factor leading the interest of observers, the simplicity of the model was deemed more effective for observing the design. Second, the examination of the differences by segments regarding the gaze weight of the image area showed differences for each group. When a similar type of model is repeated, the proportion of face recognition decreases, and the proportion of design recognition time increases. Conversely, when the model diversity is high, the same amount of time is devoted to recognizing the model's face in all the processes. Additionally, there was a difference in the gaze activity in recognizing the same design according to the type of model. These results enabled the confirmation of the importance of the model as an image recognition factor in fashion design. In the fashion industry, it is important to find a cognitive factor that attracts and retains consumers' attention. If the design recognition effect is further maximized by finding service points to be utilized, the brand's sustainability is expected to be enhanced even in the rapidly changing fashion industry.

The purpose of this study is to historically examine the thoughts and ideas of geometry and to analyze the expression style of design applied to the mass communication such as magazines and world wide webs, by giving definitions on the ideas of geometry and the pattern of cognition. Geometry was evolved to Descartes's analytical geometry, projective geometry, non-Euclidean geometry and Topology at the end of 19th century. When geometry applies to design styles, it is devided into two field, plane geometry and solid geometry. The development of geometry was completed from the Pythagoras symbolic theory of number to Platonic spiritual geometry and Euclidean geometry. It can be studied that those have what kind of symbolic meanings and transformations on each hair design plan. It can also analized how those symbolic forms are appeared on the design form. This tendency means that there is always a try for the use of geometry as reasonable device for hair design. If the hair design and geometry have logical and artistical relation, we can make buildings which have a order, balance and harmony.
Recent works in the area of multimedia studies focus on a wide range of issues from the impact of multimedia on culture to its impact on economics and anything in between. The interconnectedness of the issues raised by this new practice is complicated by the fact that media are rapidly converging: in a very real way, multimedia is becoming a media prism that reflects the way in which media continually influence each other across disciplines and cultural borders. Thus, the impact of multimedia reflects a complicated crossroads where media, human experience, culture and technology converge. An effective design is generally based on shaping aesthetics for function and utility, with an emphasis on ease of use. However, in designing for cyberspace, it is possible to create narratives that challenge the interactor by encoding in the design an instructional aspect that teaches new approaches and forms. Such a design offers an equally aesthetic experience for the interactor as they explore the meaning of the work. This design approach has been used constructively in many applications. The crucial concern is to determine how little or how much information must be presented for the interactor to achieve a suitable level of cognition. This is always a balancing act: too much difficulty will result in interactor frustration and the abandonment of the activity and too little will result in boredom leading to the same negative result In addition, it can be anticipated that the interactor will bring her or his own level of experiential cognition and/or accretion, to the experience providing reflective cognition and/or restructure the learning curve. If the design of the application is outside their present experience, interactors will begin with established knowledge in order to explore the new work. Thus, it may be argued that the interactor explores, learns and cognates simultaneously based on primary experiential cognition. Learning is one of the most important keys to establishing a comfort level in a new media work. Once interactors have learned a new convention, they apply this cognitive knowledge to other new media experiences they may have. Pierre Levy would describe this process as a "new nomadism" that creates "an invisible space of understanding, knowledge, and intellectual power, within which new qualities of being and new ways of fashioning a society will flourish and mutate" (Levy xxv 1997). Thus, navigation itself of offers the interactors the opportunity to both apply and loam new cognitive skills. This suggests that new media narrative strategies are still in the process of developing unique conventions and, as a result, have not reached a level of coherent grammar. This paper intends to explore the cognitive aspects of new media design and in particular, will explore issues related to the design of new media interfaces. The paper will focus on the creation of narrative strategies that engage interactors through loaming curves thus enhancing interactivity.vity.
The purpose of this paper is to show that a shape pro-duced by natural factors such as weather, environments, etc., can be introduced into the emotion of a design, and to make a design process by planning a Korean image and characterizing its concept. Human beings, nature, man-made objects, and society have their own functions in an environmental structure. When all their functions are kept in working order, human beings come to discover orderliness out of which they can absorb pleasure. They cannot look into their own inside but they can trace back in their memories a variety of panoramic experiences which have been embed-ded onto their identity during their lifetime interactions with an empirical world. Children first acquire a way of cognition in the space, a comprehensive premise, connecting a specific place and an object of cognition. Such subconsciousness forms sky-lines of mountains, seas, and trees under the sky, and produces axis lines and beehived domes under the influ-ence of natural, cultural, and social factors, forming a folk culture. A subconscious composition of existential space is extended. A subconscious composition of existential space is extended to the areas of environmental design, product design, and fashion design. The development of a concept of place and space as a system is a necessary condition for discovering an existential foothold.
Electric activity of cardiac muscles generates magnetic fields. Magnetocardiography (or MCG) technology, measuring these magnetic signals, can provide useful information for the diagnosis of heart diseases. It is already about 40 years ago that the first measurement of MCG signals was done by D. Cohen using SQUID (superconducting quantum interference device) sensor inside a magnetically shielded room. In the early period of MCG history, bulky point-contact RF-SQUID was used as the magnetic sensor. Thanks to the development of Nb-based Josephson junction technology in mid 1980s and new design of tightly-coupled DC-SQUID, low-noise SQUID sensors could be developed in late 1980s. In around 1990, several groups developed multi-channel MCG systems and started clinical study. However, it is quite recent years that the true usefulness of MCG was verified in clinical practice, for example, in the diagnosis of coronary artery disease. For the practical MCG system, technical elements of MCG system should be optimized in terms of performance, fabrication cost and operation cost. In this review, development history, technical issue, and future development direction of MCG technology are described.
The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effects of recreational exercise on cognition, depression, dynamic balance and leg strength in elderly women. This study was nonequivalent control group pre-post test design. Subjects were divided into two group(exercise group=14, control group=13). Experimental group conducted recreational exercise program for eight-week. Cognition was assessed by K-WAIS(object assembly & digit symbol) and depression were assessed by questionnaire. Dynamic balance(DB) and leg strength(LS) were assessed by 244cm up & go and sit to stand respectively. The collected data analyzed by Wilcoxon singed rank test and Mann-Whitney U test. The exercise group significantly improved cognition(object assembly) and DB, but control group significantly reduced DB. DB in exercise group were significantly greater than in control group after eight-week. The program was effective on cognition and dynamic balance in elderly women.
Background: This study evaluates physical function, balance, and cognition rehabilitation motivation. Design: Cross-sectional study. Methods: The subjects include 67 stroke patients to measure physical function, balance, and cognition rehabilitation motivation. For evaluation of physical function, Manual Muscle Test, Range of Motion, Modified Ashworth Scale for spasticity, grasping power, and balance was measured using Functional reach test (FRT), Berg Balance Scale (BBS). For evaluating Cognition, Korean-Mini Mental State Examination, motivation for rehabilitation scale was used to measure for motivation. Results: The results of this study that the moderating effect of rehabilitation motivation was significant in the effect of physical function on BBS (p<0.01), The moderating effect of rehabilitation motivation was significant in the effect of FRT on physical function (p<0.01), The moderating effect of external motivation was also significant in the effect of FRT on physical function (p<0.01). However, the results of the rehabilitation motivations generally divided into three groups (Lower, Average, Upper) and all three results were statistically significant only in groups of average and lower. Conclusion: This study confirms that the rehabilitation motive has demonstrated significant adjustment effects between the body function and balance. In this study, physical function, balance and cognition were significantly correlated with each other, and rehabilitation motivation proved a significant moderating effect between physical function and balance.

The purposes of this study are to classify the characteristics of parks by park use patterns and the understanding of design concepts and to analyze the difference of cognition of design concept between designers and park users. The literature studies and surveys were performed to analyze park use patterns and understanding of design concepts for Seoul Forest Park, Yeouido Park and Seonyudo Park. Several statistical methods have been used such as descriptive analysis and importance-performance analysis. The results of this research are as follows. As the results of an analysis of park use patterns, Seonyudo Park may he qualified as an urban landmark park, while Yeouido Park can he classified as a neighborhood park. Seoul Forest Park bas characteristics of both. Second, the higher frequency of visits generally leads higher preference. Third, the overall cognition of the design concepts of parks shows 3.51 on average, which is comparatively high. The functional concepts are better transmitted to the users compared to abstract concepts. The cognition of the design concepts of each park are evaluated in the higher order of Seonyudo Park, Seoul Forest Park and Yeouido Park. Fourth, the cognition levels of detailed design concepts for each place are lower than the overall design concepts. On the other hand, levels of satisfaction are increased after the design concepts are noticed. It would he necessary make the effort to give information about the design concept of each space. The results of this study are limited in that it covers only three parks in Seoul, and did not consider seasonal variables. Nevertheless, this study may he significant in that it dealt with the cognition of design concepts for urban parks, focusing on the difference between designers and visitors.
The purpose of this study is to analyze the architectural space of modern and contemporary architecture which has been changed by the aesthetic cognition on space. The intention of considering architectural space aesthetically is to convert the viewpoint of seeing space as simple physical structure into different viewpoint of regarding 'space' as 'cultural place' However this does not means to apply aesthetic theory to architectural space. The aesthetic cognition on space is one of the main subjects of the expression of art from ancient to today however the appearance of space concept as architectural aesthetics accelerated by G. Semper theory after the latter half of 19th century. On the standpoint of perpetuity in architecture the aesthetics of scientific rationalism in modernism based on the reasonable thinking regards the variety of inherent characteristic in architectural space as 'Transferential Space'. On the other hand, in regarding to architectural trend, the nature in architectural space has been considered as 'Existential Space' starting from the conscious construction of environments to help human existence in the existentialism. The Conclusion logic of follows as belows; first, the concept of space structure in architecture has been exchanged from Enclosed Space to Topological Space. Second, the concept of architectural space has been changed and developed to the Deterministic, Profound, Dissipative, and Recognizable Space according to the change of expression in architecture.
The study on architecture can be started with the aesthetic attitude which cognizes it as the art of the space. Architectural space as the subject of the aesthetical study, however, has been ignored such a long period though it should be centered of the whole architectural theory. Even it has not been dealt with independently but just only as a part of aesthetic or artistic field. Also it is true that academic approach to the architectural space as per the aesthetic cognition has not been done so satisfactorily. This study, therefore, aims at prescribing compositional scope from aesthetic cognition of architecture understanding the rational function, mechanic structure, and artistic beauty by man's subject standard of judgement as per the space, the special sphere of architecture. For the absolves, the architectural space in this study is not approached as the spatial art with the meaning of being included the arts general, but with the meaning of intrinsic peculiarity of architecture, based both in practicality of scientific concept and arts of the aesthetic notiov. In order words, the essence of architecture can be prescribed as the architectural realities as the functional, formal and symbolical space not simply the spatial art, and its real but aesthetic meaning can be cognized aesthetically.
