  • This paper deals with the design of vaccum pump using moving magnet type linear oscillaory actuator based on the design procedure and the characteristic analysis. To improve the starting characteristic, the optimum spring constant is detected and redesigned. The parameter was calculated by Finite Element Method(FEM). In order to dynamic characteristic analysis, Time difference method with voltage and kinetic equation is used. The propritey of the improved model is verified through the experimental.

  • This paper deals with the characteristic analysis & optimum design of Permanent Magnet Assisted Synchronous Reluctance Motor(PMASynRM) for Premium Efficiency Performance. The focus of this paper is characteristic analysis of d and q-axis inductances and torque according to magnetizing quantity of interior permanent magnet for PMASynRM. The d and q-axis current component ratios, load angles of a PMASynRM are investigated quantitatively on the basis of the proposed analysis method and the experimental test. Comparisons are given with output characteristic curves of normal SynRM and those according to the load in PMASynRM, respectively. And optimum design of PMASynRM is performed by Response Surface Methodology(RSM).

  • Using the repeaters is indispensable to WiBro services. Repeater types are distinguished by usage, output power and required performance. In the paper, we have studied on the WiBro digital optic repeater design which has excellent performance characteristic than any other repeaters. WiBro has specific characteristic on modulation method TDD(Time Division Duplex)/OFDMA(Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiple Access) so that it demands specified H/W to design WiBro repeater. Switching technique has been introduced because of TDD characteristic in each amplifier on the repeater. Time Advance technique has been considered because of OFDM characteristic among RAS(Radio Access Station) and repeater. In this paper, we have studied on these techniques to increase repeater cell coverage and distance between RAS and repeater.

  • This study is about a relationship of architecture and polyphony music. In the field of interior architecture, there have been many tries of applying characteristics of music, such as abstraction and nature of time for users of space to have new experience. It has been possible because architecture and music have similarities in many ways. Regarding using proportional characteristic in architecture and music, the both fields are enormously related in some ways. The purpose of this study is explaining of possibility of architectural expression in music and suggesting a way of analysing architectural design based on musical elements emphasizing proportional characteristic. Therefore, it is going to analyse Counterpoint of Bach, which is well expressed in music and compare it with proportional characteristic of space through this study.

  • This study is about finding out characteristic of recognition individual housing in seaside of Donghae. To accomplish this purpose, we survey the 150 houses related to the landscape. Thus the major analysis is to take basic data, such as image(modern, western, traditional, etc) about exterior form of housing corresponding to the landscape. The result summarized as follows First, the elements for the characteristic of recognition were exterior material finish, exterior color, roof type, roof material finish, window size, roof slope, area of wall vs roof. Second, the image of traditional housing was very insufficient to plan landscape of housing with design elements. This research suggests that landscape housing of future is to be environmental landscape design and the proper design is to be various considering not only user's preference but also control of landscape.

  • This paper describes design and characteristic analysis of long primary type linear synchronous motor (LSM) for high speed train system. LSM is designed using loading distribution method and magnetic equivalent circuit. For characteristic analysis of LSM, analytical and numerical methods are applied. Analytical method for solving the magnetic field distribution of the analytic model is based on the Maxwell’s equations. Using the characteristic equation and magnetic equivalent circuit, we analyze the effect of variation of parameters, and then we validate the result by comparing with numerical method by finite element method (FEM). We compare the analytical method with numerical method for analyzing the effect by variable parameters. This result will be useful of design and forecast of performance without FEM.

  • This study focuses on defining the new meaning of immateriality in the present times expressed on space. The purposes of this study were to examine the characteristics of immateriality showed in commercial interior design in Korea, based on the definition of immateriality concept and the analysis of the way it is expressed. The result of this study is as follows; it categorized characteristic of material expression, space concept and media. Characteristic elements can be classified into 6: transparency, implication, off-gravitation, ambiguity of boundary, temporality, interactivity. Expression of immateriality in commercial interior space was obtained in many different ways, which are identified: new expression of material by reduction of materiality, leveling of transparency, expression of floating status, changeable image, illusion effect, blurring boundary. Immateriality is deeply associated with the elements such as surface, material, media, light, and movement. So it is being recognized as an important design concept in today's pluralist society and will play an important role within the design paradigms for the future.

  • This study uses a characteristic function to explain correlations between the objective function and design variables. Analysis of means and table of orthogonal array were carried out. The change of shape of diaphragm, thickness of diaphragm and voice coil weight based on the table of orthogonal array Is made. Therefore this study carried to decide design variables for minimizing 1st natural frequency and maximizing 2nd natural frequency of diaphragm using design of experiments and characteristic function with constraints. we showed improved design variables.

  • This study uses a characteristic function to explain correlations between the objective function and design variables. For the use, structural analysis and buckling analysis are carried out. the dimensional change of an original overhead crane is made based on the table of orthogonal array. For two functions or more, the effectiveness of design change can be evaluated in accordance with change in design parameters. Also, the overhead crane's weight is reduced by up to 10.55 percent while its structural stability maintained.
