건축교육헌장에 기초한 커뮤니티 디자인교육에 관한 연구 (Community Design Education for Sustainable Environment)

  • Community design education has covered the worldview dimension of the collaborative courses for sustainability draws on the architectural expertise developed in a network of community projects and therefore case studies of design education by the collaborative project-based learning in terms of participants, students, teachers and architects, such as 'Learning By Design' for the K-12 comprehensive program in Massachusetts addresses how a local society can make its community sustainable by both design and education. To understand that community design and education can provide professional development in all levels of skills and knowledge across disciplines and opportunities for collaborative learning and problem-solving, this research consists of case studies of the community design education including social systems that assist in organizing the local educational program as well as promoting the programs with public awareness of the community. It covers the UNESCO-UIA agenda of the community design and education that is to enhance the physical environment relating to human interaction by developing innovative alternatives of existing community and contributing voluntarily to neighborhoods through design. As the community design collaborative of design professionals and users is a structural approach to assess design quality, the cases address how to set up the architectural program in order to share pro bono design service and provide high-quality design resources available for sustainable environment.

유럽과 한국의 패션디자인 교육에 관한 비교연구 -영국, 프랑스, 이태리, 한국의 교육사례를 중심으로- (A Comparative Study on Fashion Design Education in Europe and Korea -Focus on the Educational Cases in the UK, France, Italy and Korea-)

  • This study suggests the direction of fashion design education suitable for Korea by comparing the fashion design educational systems and the curricula of the main fashion institutions in Europe and those of some universities in Korea. For this, 6 fashion schools in UK, France and Italy and 12 four-year-course universities in Korea were sellected. At first, the educational systems of the nations above and the information about the selected institutions were examined through literature reviews. Then, case studies were performed about the curricula and the other characteristics of the selected fashion design courses by each website or leaflet as well as additional interviews with their course directors or graduates. The results of this study are as follow: First, Korean fashion design education system needs to be specialized and subdivided with a curriculum centered on fashion design. Second, a foundation course needs to be developed to raise a broad and creative approach for design as well as to discover each student's aptitude. Third, the curricula about design process and research methodology need to raise a problem-solving individual of ability. Fourth, a project-based fashion design education is required by a specialized education as well as multi-disciplinary programs. Fifth, an industry- related and market-based fashion design education is asked through internships, professional teaching staff, industry-sponsored projects, seminars and professional design critics. Sixth, English and technology needs to be added to the curricula to develop global professionals. Finally, a cultural fashion design education based on Korean identity is required to develop the Korean fashion industry into a higher value-added business.

산학협력과 설계 교육 중심의 창의적 공학교육 발전 방안 (An Approach for Development of Academia-Industrial Cooperation and Design Education-Centered Creative Engineering Education)

  • 4차 산업혁명의 시대를 맞아 인공지능, 빅데이터 및 사물인터넷 등의 기술을 다룰 융합적 창의력을 갖춘 고급 공학인력을 양성할 필요성이 더욱 커지고 있다. 본 논문에서는 4차 산업시대를 위한 융합적 창의력을 갖춘 실무형 공학인재를 육성하는데 필요한 산학협력을 기반으로 하는 설계 중심의 새로운 공학교육 방안들을 제시한다. 기존의 공학교육혁신 활동의 장단점을 분석하고 교육 제도 및 교육환경의 요구조건에 대해 경험을 바탕으로 실제적인 필요 요소를 제시한다. 산학 협력 환경 마련을 위한 방안, 종합설계실 구축과 설계교육 운영 방안, 산학협력 기반의 교육 운영 방안, 종합설계 관리를 위한 공학인증 운영 시스템 구축 방안들을 다룬다. 특히 정부의 지원과 협력 방안에 대해서 기존의 활동에 대한 분석과 함께 새로운 역할을 제시하며 혁신적 공학교육의 핵심 요소인 효과적인 설계 교육을 학습자 중심의 교육방법론을 접목하여 수행하는 방법에 대하여 논한다. 제안하는 방안들은 대부분 저자의 교육 현장에서 그 필요와 효과가 검증된 것들이다.

  • 정보화 사회가 성숙함에 따라 프로그래밍 교육의 중요성이 나날이 강조되고 있으며 현재 일부에서는 프로그래밍 교육을 조기에 실시해야 한다는 여론이 확대되고 있다. 이에 따라 최근에 많은 웹 기반의 프로그래밍 교육 서비스들이 등장하고 있다. 현재 국내 수준은 웹 기반의 프로그래밍 교육 서비스는 아직까지 활성화되지 않았으며, 특히 많은 분야에서 사용되는 C언어에 대한 웹기반 교육 서비스는 개발환경에 대한 제약 때문에 미약한 실정이다. 본 논문에서는 접근성이 높은 웹을 기반으로 C언어에 대한 학습에 필요한 정보와 실습환경을 제공하는 웹 기반 C언어프로그래밍 교육 시스템인 'ICANC'를 설계 및 구현하였다.

남성 운전직 근로자를 위한 소그룹기반 심뇌혈관질환 예방교육 프로그램의 개발 및 효과 (Development and Evaluation of a Small Group-based Cardiocerebrovascular Disease Prevention Education Program for Male Bus Drivers)

  • Purpose: This study was conducted to examine effects of a small group-based cardiocerebrovascular disease (CVD) prevention education program on knowledge, stage of change and health behavior among male bus drivers with CVD risk factors. Methods: A non-equivalent control group pretest-posttest design was used. Participants were 68 male bus drivers recruited from two urban bus companies. Participants from the two groups were selected by matching age, education and risk factors. Experimental group (n=34) received a small group-based CVD prevention education program 8 times over 6 weeks and 3 times through telephone interviews at 2-week intervals. Data were collected between December, 2010 and March, 2011, and were analyzed using chi-square test, t-test, and repeated measure analysis of variance with SPSS/Win18.0. Results: Experimental group showed significantly higher scores in CVD prevention knowledge (p<.001) and health behavior (p<.001) at 6 and 12 weeks after intervention. Participants in pre-contemplation and contemplation stages made progress to contemplation and action. This was significantly better at 6 and 12 weeks after intervention (p<.001). Conclusion: Results suggest that small group-based education programs for CVD prevention are effective in increasing knowledge, stage of change, and health behavior to prevent CVD among male bus drivers with CVD risk.

AR 시스템 기반 자동차 교육 플랫폼 연구 (A Study on Education Platform for Automobile Students Using AR System)

  • 디자인 분야에서 온라인, 모바일을 통한 융합교육의 보급이 빠르게 확장되고 있다. 특히 증강현실 기술을 응용한 교육 프로그램 개발이 점차 널리 사용되고 있다. 이 글은 우선, 증강현실 기술의 현재 상태와 장점을 검토함으로써 교육 응용 분야에서 증강현실의 필요성을 강조한다. 둘째, 필자는 새로운 유형의 교육 시스템인 "AR + E" 교육 클라우드 플랫폼 시스템을 제안한다. 이 시스템은 일반 종이 교과서, 범용 휴대용 이동 단말기와 APP 등 3가지로 구성된다. 본 연구는 자동차 정비 전공 학생들을 대상으로 하여 "AR + E" 교육 시스템의 유용성 및 성능 실험을 통해 "AR + E" 시스템이 학습 효과에 미치는 영향 연구 조사하였다. "AR + E"시스템은 전통적인 학습 그룹과의 비교 실험을 통해 AR 대화식 미디어를 사용하여 학습자의 학업 성과를 향상시킬 뿐만 아니라, 재미와 참여도 및 연속성을 향상시키는 결과를 얻게 되었다. 끝으로, 사용자 경험, 행위와 기호에 대한 관찰과 인터뷰를 통해 AR 기반 교육 프로그램 소프트웨어를 디자인하고 개발하여 제안하고 있다.

자기주도학습 능력 개발을 위한 설계교육 방법에 관한 연구 (A Study on Design Education Method for Development of Self-Directed Learning Ability)

  • 본 연구는 자기주도학습 개념 및 구성요인과 자기주도학습 능력개발을 위한 교수 학습 전략을 살펴보고, 문제기반학습과 프로젝트기반학습 방법이 적용되는 설계교육의 절차와의 관계를 분석하여 자기주도학습 능력개발을 위한 설계교육 방법을 제시하기 위해 수행되었다. 이를 위해 자기주도학습, 자기주도학습 능력개발, 설계교육을 주요어(key word)로 하여 '문헌연구'를 수행하였다. 그 결과 설계교육 절차 및 문제기반학습과 프로젝트기반학습의 공통되는 항목을 추출하여 5단계 를 도출하였고, 학습자의 자기주도학습 능력 수준 차이를 전제로 하는 Grow(1991)의 수업 모형을 연결시켜 총 9단계의 설계교육 절차를 제시하였다. 이는 첫째, 선수학습 준비, 둘째, 문제정의 및 필요성 인식, 셋째, 팀 구성, 넷째, 관련자료 수집, 다섯째, 교사와 함께 실질적인 문제에 대한 팀학습, 여섯째, 최적의 해결책 선택, 일곱째, 학생 중심 토의, 여덟째, 모형 및 제품 제작, 아홉째, 시험 및 평가, 보완으로 진행된다. 이러한 모형을 적용시킨 설계교육을 통해 교수자는 지속적인 피드백을 통한 학습자의 자기주도학습 능력 향상 정도 및 학업성취를 평가할 수 있을 것이다. 또한 학습자는 이전보다 높은 수준의 자기주도학습 능력을 가지게 될 것이고, 이는 다른 학습상황에도 전이되어 창의성과 문제해결능력을 필요로 하는 공학교육의 효과를 극대화할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

Mapping of Education Quality and E-Learning Readiness to Enhance Economic Growth in Indonesia

  • Purpose: This study is aimed to map the provinces in Indonesia based on the education and ICT indicators using several unsupervised learning algorithms. Research design, data, and methodology: The education and ICT indicators such as student-teacher ratio, illiteracy rate, net enrolment ratio, internet access, computer ownership, are used. Several approaches to get deeper understanding on provincial strength and weakness based on these indicators are implemented. The approaches are Ensemble K-Mean and Fuzzy C Means clustering. Results: There are at least three clusters observed in Indonesia the education quality, participation, facilities and ICT Access. Cluster with high education quality and ICT access are consist of DKI Jakarta, Yogyakarta, Riau Islands, East Kalimantan and Bali. These provinces show rapid economic growth. Meanwhile the other cluster consisting of six provinces (NTT, West Kalimantan, Central Sulawesi, West Sulawesi, North Maluku, and Papua) are the cluster with lower education quality and ICT development which impact their economic growth. Conclusions: The provinces in Indonesia are clustered into three group based on the education attainment and ICT indicators. Some provinces can directly implement e-learning; however, more provinces need to improve the education quality and facilities as well as the ICT infrastructure before implementing the e-learning.

창조적 패션디자인을 위한 한국의 패션디자인 교육모델 제안에 관한 연구 -미국, 유럽, 한국의 사례 비교를 중심으로- (A Study to Suggest Korean Fashion Design Education Model for a Creative Fashion Design -Focus on Comparative Case Studies in the USA, Europe, and Korea-)

  • This study suggests a Korean fashion design education model through a comparison of the fashion design curriculum and education systems in the USA, Europe, and Korea. For this, a case study of fashion design curriculum and education systems in the USA was performed with literature reviews about education methodology and design process to develop creativity, following the prior study, A Comparative Study on Fashion Design in Europe and Korea. For the case study, 12 superior fashion design education institutions in the USA were chosen from fashionista (N.Y.) and the goals, the emphases, the constitution of the online curriculum of each undergraduate fashion design course were examined. As a result of this study, Korean fashion design education model (1+2.5+0.5 model), was proposed by integrating the education systems of the USA and Europe, as follow: First, Korean fashion design education institutions need to be characterized and the departments/majors should be gradually specialized by the major. Second, foundation courses prior to undergraduate courses or during the 1st year should be established to result in a multi- disciplinary basic education. Third, a project based major needs to be performed that connects fashion design subjects with their related subjects for 2 and a half years as of the $2^{nd}$ year. These projects can be progressed by problem-solving design process of problem-identification and brainstorming-research, analysis-design concept-design ideation, selection-design development, implementation-critical evaluation and solutions. Fourth, collaborative projects or integrated courses with related Liberal Arts or other art and design majors should lead to muliti-discilplinary education. Fifth, the chance of increased active industry-academy collaboration and actual employment or enterprise can be facilitated by the establishment of only the courses related to domestic or international internships during the $2^{nd}$ semester of the $4^{th}$ year.

Experimental and numerical studies on seismic performance of hollow RC bridge columns

  • To investigate the seismic performance and to obtain quantitative parameters for the requirement of performance-based bridge seismic design approach, 12 reinforced concrete (RC) hollow rectangular bridge column specimens were tested under constant axial load and cyclic bending. Parametric study is carried out on axial load ratio, aspect ratio, longitudinal reinforcement ratio and transverse reinforcement ratio. The damage states of these column specimens were related to engineering limit states to determine the quantitative criteria of performance-based bridge seismic design. The hysteretic behavior of bridge column specimens was simulated based on the fiber model in OpenSees program and the results of the force-displacement hysteretic curves were well agreed with the experimental results. The damage states of residual cracking, cover spalling, and core crushing could be well related to engineering limit states, such as longitudinal tensile strains of reinforcement or compressive strains of concrete, etc. using cumulative probability curves. The ductility coefficient varying from 3.71 to 8.29, and the equivalent viscous damping ratio varying from 0.19 to 0.31 could meet the requirements of seismic design.
