알루미늄 커튼월의 ASD/LRFD설계방법에 따른 경제성 평가 방법 (Economic Evaluation Method by Design Method ASD and LRFD of Aluminum Curtain wall)

  • The curtain wall construction applied on high-rise building facades in Korea became generalized, but specialty of the CMr(Construction Manager) who needs to perform economical project management with specialty in the curtain wall construction is still lacking. Therefore, this study analyzed the structure design standard of the curtain wall, researched economical design alternatives. Based on the research results, if the ratio of dead load against wind load is less than 0.1256, LRFD will be more economical.

  • Most of tasks for vertical surface work in shipyard have been accomplished by human workers. However, such manual work often causes injury to workers, also the production cost becomes high due to increasing individual wage. To cope with the circumstance, shipbuilding companies try to introduce wall-climbing robots for carrying out such kind of tasks. In designing a wall-climbing robot, it is essential to minimize its own weight to improve the performance such as moving speed and power saving. For such purpose. this study proposes a method of optimal design for a wall-climbing robot using a genetic algorithm with multi-objective function. Specifically, the thickness of the robot base is minimized to reduce the weight while maintaining the allowable strength and avoiding the resonance frequencies. The proposed method is applied to the design of a wall-climbing robot, and the result shows that the method is useful at an early design stage.

노반재료의 소성침하 예측식을 이용한 강화노반 두께 산정 (Estimation of Reinforced Roadbed Thickness based on Experimental Equation)

  • Design of the reinforced roadbed thickness is concerned with safe operation of trains at specified levels of speed, axle load and tonnage. There are two methods for evaluating it. One is using an experimental equation and the other is using elastic theory with considering axle load, material properties of subsoils and allowable elastic settlement. Multi-layered theory is used to determine reinforced roadbed thickness by RTRI. Although their reinforced roadbed thickness is designed with an objective of achieving a minimum standard 2.5mm of settlement on the subgrade surface, it is hardly applied to real design. Li(1994) has suggested the experimental model which design approach is to limit plastic strain and deformations for the design period. It is worth due to adopting soil equivalent number of repeated load application. Moreover, it has been a more advanced method than existing design methods because including resilient modulus of subsoil beneath track, soil deviator stress caused by train axle loads and MGT. In this paper, it is analyzed under domestic track conditions to estimate the reinforced roadbed thickness with different soil types.

차량 탑재형 안테나 포지셔너의 반사판 지지대 최적설계 (Design Optimization of the Support Frame of an Antenna Positioner Mounted on a Vehicle)

  • In this research we present design optimization methods for a vehicle-mounted satellite antenna positioner. Our initial antenna positioner was conservatively designed to satisfy a worst case scenario where wind blew across the positioner at the speed of 120 km/h. Investigating stresses and safety based on Finite Element Methods (FEM), we find reflector support frames can be optimized to significantly reduce the weight of the positioner system. Thus, we optimize the reflector support frame from the given initial design while considering weight, maximum stress, maximum allowable deflection, cross section, and thickness. As a result, Shape C and the thickness of 2 mm are determined for the cross section of the reflector support frame. Applying this result, the weight of the new antenna positioner is 57.343 kg, which is decreased by 10.74% compared to the initial conservative design.

Optimality criteria based seismic design of multiple tuned-mass-dampers for the control of 3D irregular buildings

  • Multiple tuned mass dampers (MTMDs) tuned to various frequencies have been shown to efficiently control the seismic response of structures where multiple modes are dominant. One example is irregular structures that are found more vulnerable than their symmetric counterparts. With the technology of MTMDs available, design and optimal design methodologies are required for application. Such a methodology, in the form of an analysis/redesign (A/R) scheme, has been previously presented by the authors while limiting responses of interest to allowable values, i.e., performance-based design (PBD). In this paper, the A/R procedure is modified based on formal optimality criteria, making it more cost efficient, as well as more computationally efficient. It is shown that by using the methodology presented herein, a desired performance level is successfully targeted by adding near-optimal amounts of mass at various locations and tuning the TMDs to dampen several of the structure's frequencies. This is done using analysis tools only.

비탈면 복구사례 분석을 통한 쏘일네일링 공법의 국내외 설계기준 평가 (Evaluation of Domestic and Foreign Design Standards for Soil Nailing Method by Analysis of Slope Restoration Case)

  • 쏘일네일링 설계기법은 한계상태설계와 허용응력설계에 기반한 두가지 형태가 있다. 한계상태설계법은 지반강도와 작용하중 등에 개별적인 계수를 적용하여 안정성을 판단하며, 허용응력설계법은 안전율을 산출하고 이값을 허용최소안전율과 비교하여 안정성을 판단하는 설계법이다. 쏘일네일링 벽체 설계의 세계적인 추세는 허용응력설계법에서 한계상태설계법으로 변화하고 있다. 대부분의 국가에서 한계상태설계법을 적용하고 있으나 한국 및 일본에서는 아직까지 허용응력설계법을 사용하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 비탈면의 붕괴가 발생하여 보강이 이루어진 실제 쏘일네일 보강 비탈면에 대해, 미국의 FHWA GEC 7(2015), 프랑스의 Clouterre(1991), 영국의 CIRIA(2005), 홍콩의 Geoguide 7(2008) 및 한국의 건설공사비탈면설계기준(KDS 11 70 15, 2016)을 적용하여 안정성을 평가하고 그 결과를 상호 비교 분석하였다. 분석 결과, 국내의 건설공사비탈면설계기준에서 제시한 전체 안정성 검토 방법이 가장 보수적이며, FHWA, Clouterre, Geoguide 7 및 CIRIA의 순서로 보수적인 것으로 밝혀졌다. 그러나 그 결과에 있어서 FHWA과 Clouterre의 차이는 미미한 것으로 분석되었다. 또한, 본 연구를 통해 인발저항력의 극한값 적용, 부분 계수값의 도입 또는 피해규모를 고려한 최소안전율 차등적용 등 설계기준 개선을 위한 노력이 필요함을 파악하였다.

터널 유지관리계측의 압력 관리기준치 설정에 관한 연구 (A study on the establishment of pressure limit values of management monitoring in tunnel)

  • 본 논문은 터널 유지관리계측의 압력 관리기준치 설정에 대한 연구로 계측 초기에 설정된 지하철계측 초기 관리기준치를 토대로 서울지하철 6,7,9호선 8개 대표단면의 터널 콘크리트라이닝의 토압과 간극수압에 대하여 약 5년에 걸친 계측 실적을 분석하고, 국외 계측관리기준을 비교하여 향후 터널 유지관리계측에 적용할 압력 계측관리기준치 설정에 대한 연구를 수행하였다. 연구결과 향후에 터널에 적용할 유지관리계측의 압력 관리기준치는 국내적용 계측관리기준치와 국외적용 계측관리기준치 분석결과를 비교하여 안전단계는 허용압력의 60%, 주의단계는 허용압력의 80%, 정밀분석단계는 허용압력의 100%로 실무에서 쉽게 적용할 수 있는 절대치에 의한 계측관리방법을 제안하였다.

LNG선용 INVAR(Fe-36%Ni)강 Lap 이음부의 피로강도와 허용응력에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Fatigue Strength and Allowable Stress of INVAR(Fe-36% Ni) Steel Lap Joint Applied to Cargo Containment of LNG Carrier)

  • This paper is to evaluate the fatigue strength of lap joints of materials applied to LNG carrier cargo containment of GAZ-TRANSPORT(GT) type, which was welded by manual and automatic TIG welding process. The thicknesses of lapped members were 1.5mm/1.5mm or 1.5mm/0.7mm in Invar to Invar joint, and 1.5mm/8.0mm in Invar to stainless steel joint, respectively. These lap joints were mainly applied to the membrance fabrication of GT-LNG carrier. Fatigue tests of Invar/Inar lap joints were conducted under the stress ratio R=0 at room temperature. The effect of mean stress and cumulative fatigue damage on the allowable stress of Invar lap joint was evaluated on the basis of test results. Fatigue test was also conducted on Inver/Stainless steel lap joints welded by automatic TIG process without filler metals. The fatigue test of the joint was carried out under the same conditions as those of Invar/invar lap joints. The fatigue strength of the joint welded without filler metal was comparable to those welded with filler metal quoted from reference. The fatigue strength of Invar/stainless steel lap joint was only dependent on the lap throat thickness, and not on the welding process. Based on test results, the applicability of TIG welding process without filler metal in Invar/stainless steel lap joint was reviewed by controlling welding variables to assure the valid throat thickness of lap joints.

Electrical Properties of the Epoxy Nano-composites according to Additive

  • The use of a filler material in epoxy composite materials is an essential condition for reducing the unit cost of production and reinforcing mechanical strength. However, the dielectric strength of insulators decreases rapidly due to interactions between the epoxy resin and filler particles. In contrast to existing composite materials, nano-composite materials have superior dielectric strength, mechanical strength, and enduring chemical properties due to an increase in the bond strength of the polymer and nano material, It is reported that nano-fillers provide new characteristics different from the properties of the polymer material. This study is to improve the insulation capability of epoxy resins used in the insulation of a power transformer apparatus and many electronic devices mold. To accomplish this, the additional amount of nano-$SiO_2$ to epoxy resin was changed and the epoxy/$SiO_2$ nano composite materials were made, and the fundamental electrical properties were investigated using a physical properties and an analysis breakdown test. Using allowable breakdown probability, the optimum breakdown strength for designing an electrical apparatus was determined. The results found that the electrical characteristics of the nano-$SiO_2$ content specimens were superior to the virgin specimens. The 0.4 wt% specimens showed the highest electrical properties among the specimens examined with an allowable breakdown probability of 20 %, which indicates stable breakdown strength in insulating machinery design.

콘크리트 피복재의 단면파괴에 대한 신뢰성 해석 (Reliability Analysis for Fracture of Concrete Armour Units)

  • 방파제의 경사면에 거치된 콘크리트 피복재의 단면파괴에 대한 신뢰성 해석을 수행하였다. 신뢰함수는 피복재의 흔들림 또는 동요의 크기를 정량적으로 나타내는 회전각의 함수로 유도되었다. 방파제 단면에 거치된 피복재의 재질적 성질 및 기하학적 형상과 관련된 확률변수들의 단면파괴에 미치는 영향 정도가 자세히 해석되었다. 또한 파고의 함수로 피복재 개개의 단면파괴에 대한 파괴확률이 산정 되었다. 마지막으로 Bernoulli과정과 허용파손율의 개념을 동시에 고려하여 피복재의 단면파괴가 어떻게 방파제 제체의 파괴확률로 이어지는가가 해석되었다. 허용파손율 개념은 본 연구에서 도입된 것으로, 허용파손율을 어떻게 정의하느냐에 따라 피복재의 단면파괴에 의하여 유발되는 방파제 제체의 파괴확률이 다르게 거동되는 것을 확인할 수 있었다 따라서 상대적으로 수심이 깊은 곳에 중량이 큰 콘크리트 피복재를 사용하여 방파제를 설계할 때는 수리학적 안전성뿐만 아니라 구조적 안전성도 중요하게 고려되어야 한다.
