  • Eight drawings of Sukcheon-je-a-do are the architectural drawings of the government offices. These were drawn in the representation of Sabang-jeondo-myobeob. Sabang-jeondo-myobeob is one of Korean traditional drawing type, that is constructed with turned-over elevations drawn on the site plan. The analytic observation viewed in the iconographical diagrams of eight drawings led me following conclusions. First, the most typical expression of Sabang-jeondo-myobeob can be summarized as the combination of three elevations toward the inside and one elevation toward the outside. The former is expression of territoriality, and the latter is expression of the facade. Second, in Sabang-jeondo-myobeob both elevations of crosswise direction and of lengthwise direction are described at the viewpoint of eye level. And they center around the courtyards with intent to describe the relation between buildings and the outdoor space. Third, the facade of pavilions, disposed on the crosswise direction in Sabang-jeondo-myobeob, are described with the both viewpoint of down-view and up-view. It is the expression peculiar to Korean traditional drawings, that describes the depth and richness on the facade of traditional wooden architecture. Fourth, some pavilions and landscapes are described in Pyonghaeng-saseon-dobeob, that is familiar drawing type in the Korean traditional paintings. From this expression we can deduce that the traditional architectural drawings such as Sukcheon-je-a-do were constructed by the traditional landscape painters.

  • Advent of diverse media and advancement in digital technology significantly affected our perception of time and space. By utilizing digital media actively, fashion illustration has come to go beyond the limitation on conventional perspective expression. This study aims to examine the phenomenon of deconstruction of perspective in fashion illustration, and to analyze a variety of space expressions and effects of visual expression in fashion illustration. By way of literature research for the study, theoretical data are reviewed about basic concepts of conventional perspective and the characteristics and aesthetic concept of perspective deconstruction expression in visual art. By way of an empirical study, fashion illustrations that represent the deconstruction of perspective are classified and analyzed characteristics and image effects of such expressions. Deconstruction of perspective in fashion illustration find in expression of spaces by means of multi-space, multi-layer space, reverse perspective, perspective through the exaggeration, multi-perspective space, and panoramic visual condition. Fashion illustration expresses visual confusion or fantasy rather than creating realistic spaces that have utilized reasonable perspective. Fashion illustration is moving toward a trait with disharmony and an in-depth visionary space by overlapping or mixing spaces differing from each other, and by means of such peculiar and unrealistic expressions, unfamiliar images are created.

  • Purpose: KLF6, a member of the KLF family, is a ubiquitous zinc finger tumor suppressor protein that is mutated in several human cancers. Our aim was to determine whether the expression pattern of KLF6 might be associated with gastric cancer development and, if so, to determine to which pathologic parameter it is linked. Materials and Methods: For the construction of the gastric cancer tissue microarray, 85 paraffin-embedded tissues containing gastric cancer areas were cored 3 times and transferred to the recipient master block. The expression pattern of KLF6 was examined on tissue microarray slides by using immunohistochemistry and was compared with pathologic parameters, including histologic type, depth of invasion, lymph node metastasis, and peritoneal dissemination. Results: The KLF6 protein was expressed on superficial and foveolar epithelial cells in the gastric mucosa. We found loss of KLF6 expression in 28 ($32.9\%$) of the 85 gastric cancer tissues. There was a significant correlation between loss of KLF6 expression and lymph-node metastasis. However, other pathologic parameters, such as histologic type, depth of invasion, and peritoneal dissemination, were not statistically associated with loss of KLF6 expression. Conclusion: Our findings suggest that loss of KLF6 expression may contribute to abnormal regulation of gastrointestinal epithelial cell growth and differentiation and to the development and/or progression of Korean gastric cancer.

  • Purpose: The EphB2 receptor, a member of the receptor tyrosine kinase family, is a target gene of the Wnt signaling pathway and may achieve a tumor suppressor function through regulation of cell growth and migration. Our aim was to determine whether an altered expression of EphB2 might be associated with gastric cancer development and, if so, to determine to which pathologic parameter it is linked. Materials and Methods: For the construction of the gastric cancer tissue microarray, 83 paraffin-embedded tissues containing gastric cancer areas were cored 3 times and transferred to the recipient master block. The expression patterns of EphB2 were examined on tissue microarray slides by using immunohistochemistry and were compared using pathologic parameters, including histological type, depth of invasion, lymph node metastatsis, and peritoneal dissemination. Results: The EphB2 protein was expressed in the normal gastric mucosal epithelium, especially in the bottom of the mucosa. We found loss of EphB2 expression in 30 (36.1%) of the 83 gastric cancer tissues. Statistically, loss of EphB2 expression was more common in gastric cancer with lymph-node metastasis. There was no significant correlation between EphB2 expression and depth of invasion, histologic type, or peritoneal dissemination. Conclusion: Our findings suggest that loss of EphB2 expression may represent a critical step in gastric carcinogenesis.

  • In this paper, we conducted cross-cultural studies on digital images, which is an important element of the user interface. We brought in the schema theory to explain the cross-cultural difference in expressing and perceiving digital images. Participant-ethnography, in-depth interview, and card sorting were conducted to explore how expression and perception of image are influenced by schemas. Our results of qualitative studies indicate that there are differences in schemas between cultures depending on the topic of expression and perception. With these results, we suggest globalization and localization strategies of website.

  • Edema factor(EF) is a portion of anthrax toxin which produces edema when combined with protective antigen. This paper describes about technique for cloning, expression, purification and activity test of EF. Using the E. coli expression system, we could make recombinant EF protein although it's origin is Bacillus anthracis. And also we could culture massively and purify highly pure protein. Finally we confirm a enzyme activity of purified EF to increase intracellular cAMP level. Through establishing this technique, it can be possible to research about EF in depth and apply to expression and purification of many other protein in biology.

  • Objective: An experiment was conducted to investigate the environment of the deep litter system and provided theoretical basis for production. Methods: The bedding samples were obtained from a pig breeding farm and series measurements associated with gases concentrations and the bacterial diversity as well as the quantity of Escherichia coli, Lactobacilli, Methanogens were performed in this paper. Results: The concentrations of $CO_2$, $CH_4$, and $NH_3$ in the deep litter system increased with the increasing of depth while the $N_2O$ concentrations increased fiercely from the 0 cm to the -10 cm depth but then decreased beneath the -10 cm depth. Meanwhile, the Shannon index, the dominance index as well as the evenness index at the -20 cm layer was significantly different from the other layers (p<0.05). On the other hand, the quantity of Escherichia coli reached the highest value at the surface beddings and there was a significant drop at the -20 cm layer with the increasing depth. The Lactobacilli numbers increased with the depth from 0 cm to -15 cm and then decreased significantly under the -20 cm depth. The expression of Methanogens reached its largest value at the depth of -35 cm. Conclusion: The upper layers (0 cm to -5 cm) of this system were aerobic, the middle layers (-10 cm to -20 cm) were micro-aerobic, while that the bottom layers (below -20 cm depth) were anaerobic. In addition, from a standpoint of increasing the nitrification pathway and inhibiting the denitrification pathway, it should be advised that the deep litter system should be kept aerobic.

  • Background: To explore the relationship between CXCR4, CD133 co-expression and clinicopathological features as well as prognosis of patients with phase II~III colon cancer. Materials and Methods: Forty-nine paraffin-embedded samples of tumor tissue and epithelial tissue adjacent to cancer were collected from patients with colon cancer undergoing radical surgery in Baotou Cancer Hospital from January, 2010 to June, 2011. CXCR4 and CD133 expression was detected using immunohistochemistry and its relationship with clinicopathological features and the 3-year survival rate was analyzed. Results: In the tumor tissue and colonic epithelial tissue adjacent to cancer, the positive expression rates of CXCR4 were respectively 61.2% (30/49) and 8.16% (4/49), while those of CD133 being 36.7% (18/49) and 6.12% (3/49). CXCR4 and CD133 expression in tumor tissue was not related to patient age, gender, primary focal sites, tumor size, TNM staging, histological type, tumor infiltration depth and presence or absence of lymphatic metastasis, but CXCR4 and CD133 co-expression was associated with TNM staging and lymphatic metastasis. The 3-year survival rate of patients with CXCR4 and CD133 co-expression was 27.3% (3/11), and that of the remainderwas 76.3% (29/38), the difference being significant ($X^2=7.0206$, p=0.0081). Conclusions: CXCR4 and CD133 co-expression may be a risk factor for poor prognosis of patients with stage II~III colon cancer.
