The nutritive value of rumen contents and barley mixture (4:1 w/w; RCB) was evaluated and the effect of their feeding on growth performances in Najdi lambs was studied. A metabolism trial was conducted with 16 rams divided into four dietary groups. The diets were: a whole-mixed control diet and three diets where RCB was incorporated at the rates of 25, 50 and 100%, replacing an equal amount of control diet. The results showed that there was a depression (p<0.05) in DM digestibility for the 100% RCB diet in comparison with other diets. The digestibility of CP was higher(p<0.05) for the 25% RCB diet as compared to the control diet; there was a trend for a small (p>0.05) decrease in digestibility as level of RCB increased. Lambs in all studied diets were in positive nitrogen balance; the differences between diets were not significant. A total of 45 lambs were allotted into three groups and used to evaluate the effect of dietary inclusion of RCB (0, 25 and 50%) on growth performance and carcass traits. Daily DM intake, final body weight, carcass weight and dressing percentage were not different among treatments. Average weight gain and ether extract (EE) in 9-11th control joint were higher (p<0.05) in lambs fed control diet than those fed RCB diets. The substitution of RCB for 50% of control diet exhibited 11.8% reduction in feeding cost for each kg of body weight gain.
This research was carried out to investigate the effect of paper sludge addition on formaldehyde emission, and physical and mechanical properties of UF-particleboard. In order to investigate the effect of paper sludge addition to resin, particleboards were bonded with urea-formaldehyde resins containing 5, 10, 15% paper sludge powders of three types(A Type: -200 mesh, B Type: -100~+200 mesh. C Type: -50~+100 mesh), based on weight of resin solid. Also the effect of paper sludge addition to furnish was studied from particleboards fabricated with ratios of sludge to particle of 5:95, 10:90, 15:85 based on oven-dry weight. Tests were conducted on the manufactured particleboards to determine formaldehyde emission, bending properties, internal bond strength and thickness swelling. The obtained results were summarized as follows: The addition of paper sludge powder to resin yielded a higher pH of cured resin. Formaldehyde emission decreased with the increase of paper sludge powder addition to resin and paper sludge composition ratio to furnish. Particleboard bonded with urea-formaldehyde resin containing paper sludge powder and particleboard mixed with paper sludge have similar bending properties(MOR, MOE) and thickness swelling compared with control particleboard. Internal bond strength of particleboards treated with paper sludge were lower than that of control particleboard. The use of paper sludge as scavenger was achieved reduction of formaldehyde emission without depression of physical and mechanical properties of particleboard. Also the use of paper sludge was able to concluded that there is possibility of partial substitution of wood particle materials.

The treatment for pediatric dental patient has become more complex than the previous, because patients of pediatric dentistry, younger than the previous, and they were often combined with systemic disease. And, the importnace of conscious sedation has been increased by this time for this reason. In a variety of CNS depressants, newly developed imidazobenzodiazepine (midazolam) is well known as a safe and effective medicament. It has a rapid onset, minimized cardiovascular depression and various possible administering, route, so it is commonly used for the conscious sedation of pediatric dental patients. Recently, "intranasal drop-in method" draws attention for its safety, but discomfort during administration and posterior dripping through pharynx diminish its popularity. Now more advanced method for intranasal administration is introduced for conscious sedation for pediatric dental patients, it is "intranasal spray" with aerosol form of medicament. With this method, we can achieve some benefits as belows : 1. Diminished discomfort during intranasal spray than nitranasal drop-in. 2. Rapid osnet and reduction than intranasal drop-in. 3. Eliminatin of adverse reaction, such as rhinorrhea. 4. More improved behavior rating scale.

None of the reports of delayed infection mentioned a latent period exceeding 13 months. we report an infection that developed 18 months after implantation of an absorbable plate. A 16-year-old adolescent girl had undergone reduction and fixation with an absorbable plate for Lefort I and zygomaticomaxillary complex fractures 18 months prior at our hospital. In her most recent hospital visit as an outpatient, abscess was observed in periocular area. Computed tomography revealed sinusitis with an abscess above the infraorbital rim. Wound culture yielded methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus. Despite conservative treatments, wound state did not improve. Therefore, our department decided to perform surgery. Absorbable plate had been mostly absorbed but remained a bit. Bony depression of infraorbital rim and mucosal exposure of maxillary sinus anterior wall were observed. After the surgery, the patient recovered. We believe that the reason the wound infection and sinusitis manifested at the same time is because of several factor such as alcohol abuse, smoking, and mucosal exposure of maxillary sinus anterior wall. Absorbable plate takes 9 months to 3 years to be completely absorbed, thus we suggest studies with a follow-up of at least 3 years be undertaken to determine the outcomes of patients with many risk factors.

Objective : Heart rate variability (HRV) is known to reflect autonomic nervous system activity. Individuals with posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) are reported to have lower HRVs. We attempted to find HRV indices with head up tilt position that reflect the symptoms well in order to evaluate PTSD symptoms. Methods : Sixty-seven patients with PTSD and 72 patients without PTSD were assessed using the PTSD Checklist for DSM-5 (PCL-5), the Beck Depression Inventory, the Beck Anxiety Inventory and the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index. HRV was measured in the head-up tilt position. We collected data regarding heart rate (HR), standard deviation of the NN intervals (SDNN), the square root of the mean squared differences of successive NN intervals (RMSSD), log low-frequency (LNLF) and log high-frequency (LNHF). Results : The value of LNHF was different according to presence or absence of PTSD after head-up tilt position. In the findings of the association between PTSD symptoms and HRV indices as based on head-up tilt, LNHF had a significant correlation with the total score of PCL-5. Conclusion : The reduction of the high-frequency component of HRVs in the PTSD group might reflect more PTSD symptoms.

The influence of fiber content of hay (low-fiber 47% NDF and high-fiber 62% NDF of DM) and concentrate level (high 50% and low 20% of ration DM) on chewing activity, passage rate and nutrient digestibility were tested on four restrict-fed (11.1 to 13.7 kg DM/d) Holstein cows in late lactation. Aspects of ruminal fermentation and digesta particle size distribution were also investigated on two ruminally cannulated (100 mm i.d.) cows of the same group of animals. All digestion parameters studied were more affected by the fiber content of the hay and its ratio to non structural carbohydrates than by the concentrate level. Giving a diet of high-fiber (62% NDF) hay and low concentrate level (20%) increased chewing activity but decreased solid passage rate and total digestibility of nutrients due to a limited availability of fermentable OM in the late cut fiber rich hay. A supplementation of high-fiber hay with 50% concentrate in the diet seems to improve the ruminal digestion of cell contents, whilst a depression of the ruminal fiber digestibility was not completely avoided. Giving a diet of low-fiber (47% NDF) hay and high concentrate level (50%) reduced markedly the chewing and rumination activity, affected negatively the rumen conditions and, consequently, the ruminal digestion of fiber. A reduction of the concentrate level from 50 to 20% in the diet of low-fiber hay improved the rumen conditions as reflected by an increase of the ruminal solid passage rate and of fiber digestibility and in a decrease of the concentration of large particles and of the mean particle size of the rumen digesta and of the faeces. Generally, it can be summarised that, (i) concentrate supplementation is not a strategy to overcome limitations of low quality (fiber-rich) hay, and (ii) increase of the roughage quality is an effective strategy in ruminant nutrition, especially when concentrate availability for ruminants is limited.

The effect of subcutanecus injection of Corynebacterium parvum($700{\mu}g$) on cellular and humoral immune responses when given at various time relative to sheep red blood cell(SRBC) sensitization were studied by the evaluation of Arthus, delayed-type hypersensitivity(DTH), rosette forming cell, hemagglutinin and hemolysin reactions. Arthus reactivity(3 hours) developed in control mice and test mice pretreated with C. parvum 8 days prior to intravenous sensitization with SRBC were similar. However, there was slight depression of reactivity when C. parvum was given subcutaneoutly(s.c.) 4 or 2 days prior to SRBC sensitization. Arthus reactivity was significantly depressed when C. parvum was given s.c. either at the same time as, or 2 days later than, antigen. DTH reaction was net depressed significantly when C. parvum was injected 8 or 2 days prior to SRBC sensitization or at the same time as antigen. In contrast DTH was significantly augmented when C. parvum given s.c. 4 days prier to SRBC sensitization. DTH was depressed when C. parvum was given s.c. 2 days after antigen. No significant change occurred in rosette forming percetages of spleen cell when C. parvum was given s.c. 8, 4 or 2 days before SRBC sensitization. In contrast, a significant reduction in percentages of rosette forming cell occurred when C. parvum was given s.c. either at the same time as, or 2 days later than, antigen. Serum hemaggulutinin and hemolysin titers were not significantly affected by subcutaneous injection of C. parvum regardless of time relative to SRBC sensitization. However, mercaptoethanol-resistant hemaggulutinin and hemolysin(IgG) titers were somewhat augmented when C. parvum was given 2 days after antigen. It is concluded from these results that depending on the time and route of inoculation, C. parvum can enhance or depress immune responses in mice, suggesting the time and route of C. parvum inoculation is an important point of concern about clinical use of C. parvum for the treatment of cancer.
Objectives : The study investigated and analyzed the relationship between health-related lifestyle and psychosomatic self-reported symptom in dental hygiene students. Methods : A self-reported questionnaire was filled out by 478 dental hygiene students in Gyeonggi-do and Gangwon-do from March 7 to June 21, 2012 by random sampling method after informed consent. Results : The health-related lifestyle showed the results as follows. Nonsmokers accounted for 89.1%. Those who never exercise accounted for 67.9% and 37.9% of the students sleep for 5-6 hours. Those who take alcohols twice per month accounted for 58.2%. The correlation between the symptoms and lifestyle included multiple subjective symptoms(I), respiratory(A), eyes and skin(B) and digestive organs(C) symptoms and smoking status(p<.01), mouth and anal(D), depression(K), nervousness(E). There existed the correlation in average sleeping time(p<.01) and impulsivess(H) and smoking status(p<.05) and lie scale(L) and regular exercise(p<.05) and aggressiveness(F) and drinking habits and irregular and life(G) and breakfast habits. The smoking habit, sleeping time, and snack intake had an influence on psychosomatic self-reported oral health-related symptoms. Conclusions : Cessation of smoking, adequate sleeping time, and reduction of snack intake can improve the oral health-related lifestyle and reduce the self-reported symptoms in the dental hygiene students.
The purpose of this study was performed to investigate dietary and lifestyle habits, dietary behaviors, and food frequency according to the level of smartphone addiction among 408 university students in Kyungnam province. Statistical analyses were performed using the SPSS software package. Based on using the Smartphone Addiction Poneness Scale, 28.4% were potential-risk smartphone users and while 13.2% were high-risk smartphone users. The levels of depression (P<0.05) and stress (P<0.05) and frequency of snacks (P<0.01) were higher in high-risk and potential-risk groups than in the normal group, and meal frequency was highest in the high-risk group (P<0.01). Percentages of using a smartphone at meal time (P<0.01) and snacking while using a smartphone (P<0.01) were higher in potential-risk and high-risk groups than in the normal group. Percentages of skipping meals (P<0.001) and slow eating speed (P<0.01) due to using a smartphone were higher in high-risk and potential-risk groups than in the normal group, and percentages of taste change (P<0.05) were higher in the high-risk group than in the potential-risk and normal groups. Percentages of exercise reduction (P<0.01), body weight increase (P<0.05), sleep disturbance (P<0.001), and increase in stress (P<0.01) due to using a smartphone were higher in the high-risk group than in the normal group. Scores of dietary behaviors avoiding salty food (P<0.01) and excessive drinking (P<0.001) were higher in the high-risk group than in the normal group. Scores for frequency of oil or nuts (P<0.05) and fatty meats (P<0.01) were highest in the high-risk group. Our results suggest that effective nutrition education programs are needed to solve unhealthy dietary and lifestyle habits from high-risk smartphone users in university students.
