In digital environment the hallmark of the national libraries is its responsibility or function of acquiring and preserving the county´s off-line and on-line publications in term of legal deposit. But the legal deposit system based on print materials in Korea predates the digital age and requires a new legal framework. It would be a tragedy if national library was not to archive the nation´s intellectual and cultural heritage because of limitation of legal deposit system. The purpose of this paper is to analyze form of the current deposit system and to suggest a reform model for legal deposit legislation with priority given to legal scheme and elements(terms, the depositor, the depository, object of deposit, number of copies, time of deposit, compensation and fine, right of migration and free access, etc.).

As discarded fishing gear settles or floats on the seabed, it destroys the spawning and habitat of fisheries resources that causes various safety accidents and adverse effects on the environment, such as generating microplastics and causing ship accidents. In order to solve this problem, this study is intended to present an implementation plan for establishing a fishing gear deposit system in order to use it as basic data for establishing policies for fishing gear management in Korea. In order to successfully implement the fishing gear deposit system, the deposit system must be established in the form of fishing gear completed at the production stage. It was found that the marking of the object should be easy, and that determining an appropriate deposit amount to motivate the return of waste fishing gear and establishing a convenient return procedure for returned waste fishing gear were important factors. In addition, transparent management of unreturned deposits and mandatory use of fishing gear subject to the deposit system for fishermen will be necessary. The role of a specialized organization to manage and operate all of these procedures is also very important. It is necessary to establish a new mandatory provision in the Fisheries Act to require fishermen who directly use fishing gear to use fishing gear with a deposit refund mark, and to ensure the implementation of the deposit system by linking it with the evaluation items of government policy projects. Since the main purpose of the deposit system is to collect discarded fishing gear, a support plan will be necessary in accordance with the purchase project for fishing waste salvaged by local governments in 2020.

The general purpose of deposit is to ensure that the knowledge of the present is not lost to the future. By today the status of legal deposit scheme in various countries including Korea is focusing on paper-based publication or tangible electronic publications. Born-digital publications including electronic books should be registered and be deposited for meeting the aims of deposit. This study presents the findings on deposit legislation, deposit arrangement, and accessing methods of networked electronic publications. The study suggests electronic deposit system, and outlines the technical and procedural challenges involved in developing the deposit system.

The National Library of Korea recently proposed a draft of an Act on Legal Deposit and Use for the Online Digital Products and researches about deposit system and remuneration of the digital products are in progress. Based on the law of library and copyright, remuneration of deposit and use products is paid. A draft of a proposed law include information about the remuneration payment. For these reasons, the method for efficient remuneration management is required. In this paper, we propose effective remuneration management system which follows a draft of an Act on Legal Deposit and Use for the Online Digital Products.

National libraries have an obligation to meet the information needs of users by collecting as many various materials as possible. As legal deposit accounts for the highest percentage of the collection building methods of national libraries, they are trying to encourage the legal deposit of the publishers. However, the rate of legal deposit for the most publishers are pretty low. Therefore, in this study, the improvement plans of legal deposit system for the purpose of helping legal deposit of national libraries improve smoothly has been investigated by identifying the problems with the legal deposit system that publishers had and by suggesting the matters that should be improved based on the recognition of legal deposit by publishers. The plans for the revitalization of legal deposit for the publishers are as follows: promoting factors of legal deposit systems such as scope, deadline, compensation, fine and legal deposit libraries, simplification of legal deposit procedures, set-up of automated online system for legal deposit and strengthening of the method for promoting and educating the legal deposit.

This study empirically analyzed the recognition and current status of university libraries related to the legal deposit of thesis and dissertation and investigated the ways to activate legal deposit to National Assembly Library. As a result, most universities conduct legal deposit of thesis and dissertation. However, most librarians face difficulties resulted from the duplication of deposits to many institutions. In the case that the deposits are not made, the main reasons are the university library's policies, duplication and inefficiency of the deposit procedures, and the limitation of obtaining copyright agreements. In order to address these limitations and to maximize the social and informational values of thesis and dissertation, this research proposed approaches to legal deposit of thesis and dissertation, including strengthening digital deposit system through the establishment of independent legal deposit law, preparing the effective ways of preservation. constructing an integrated deposit system, and developing professional collection of thesis and dissertation which can consolidate National Assembly Library.

All publications of a country is a cultural heritage with the spirit of humanity, each National Library has to collect and preserve all publications produced in each country. Acquisition activity(Collection development) of each National Library is supported by a powerful legal deposit system. Therefore, this study has analyzed the legal deposit systems of the world countries, especially focussed whether or not the compensation for legal deposit, whether or not any sanction against not-depositing, Fine collection procedures against not-depositing, and the specific process for legal deposit. Based on these investigations, this study was to seek ways to contribute the legal deposit rates of National Library. It has proposed the following suggestions; Performing of legal deposit duty by itself, developing the system for supporting the legal deposit, establishing newly of legal deposit department, and improving the compensation for the legal depositor.

SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) on DPF (Diesel Particulate Filter) is a multi-functional after-treatment device which integrates soot filtration and DeNOx function into a single can. Because of its advantage in package and cost, the SCR on DPF is considered as a potential candidate for future application. It inherently employes wall flow type monolithic reactor so ash included in exhaust gas may deposit inside the inlet channel of this device. This study is intended to identify the impact of ash deposit on SCR reaction under wall flow type monolithic reactor. Simulation approach is used so relevant species transport equations for wall flow type monolith is derived. These equations can be solved together with momentum conservation equations and give solution for conversion performance. Both ash deposit and clean catalyst case are simulated and comparison of these two cases gives an insight for the impact of ash deposit on conversion performance. Ash deposit can be classified as ash layer and ash plug. and impact of ash deposit is described along with different morphology of ash deposit.

Time series data on the size of Chonsei deposit has been estimated. At the end of 1997, that size has been estimated as 112 trillion Korean Won. If the Chonsei system can be moved toward the monthly rental system, it is highly probable to achieve the Pareto imporvement whether there are uncertainties or not. The new system named as the Chonsei system without the Chonsei deposite has been suggested, which can be readily to be introduced. Under this system, the owner can sustain opportunitities of using Chonsei deposit, renters can rent houses whithout the Chonsei deposity and financial intermediaries can secure safe sources of loans, which will increase BIS capital ratio of banks.

The purpose of this paper is to examine how the social system of deposit insurance affected the financial market in Korea. Specifically, we want to know how much the risk-seeking behavior of financial institutions has increased or decreased. The most important feature of the deposit insurance system is to prevent the insolvency of financial institutions and to properly protect depositors. In recent studies, it has been argued that characteristics of deposit insurance bring moral hazard of financial institutions and that financial institutions make unreasonably risky investments. Therefore, in this study, we will first examine whether such previous research can be applied to the Korean financial market. Next, we will examine the appropriateness of the differential premium rate that is currently used for each financial institution in the Korean financial market. In order to test the first hypothesis, we used the Capital Asset Pricing Model (CAPM) to calculate the total risk for each financial institution. As a result, significant changes were found in all regions before and after the introduction of the deposit insurance system. As for testing the second hypothesis, we conducted a variance analysis of financial institutions' indexes before and after the introduction of the deposit insurance and we discovered significance of the total risk difference.
