  • The purpose of this study is to analyse the ethical basis of two influential global citizenship idea - Rawls' liberal approach and cosmopolitan republicanism - as a theory on global justice. In the aspect of deontology, Rawls' view has the limit not to reflect reciprocal obligation and duty on civil right in the era of economic globalization that inequality has been structured. But cosmopolitan republicanism has the basis of deontological justification because advocates the realization of anti-domination principle at global level. In the aspect of utilitarianism, Rawls attempts to justify the logic rejecting redistribution intra nations. But cosmopolitan republicanism has the potential to decrease maleficence at global level and to increase utility level through overcoming the structured sacrifice of the citizens of developing countries.

  • Animal welfare has become a growing concern affecting acceptability of agricultural systems in many countries around the world. An earlier Judeo-Christian interpretation of the Bible (1982) that dominion over animals meant that any degree of exploitation was acceptable has changed for most people to mean that each person has responsibility for animal welfare. This view was evident in some ancient Greek writings and has parallels in Islamic teaching. A minority view of Christians, which is a widespread view of Jains, Buddhists and many Hindus, is that animals should not be used by humans as food or for other purposes. The commonest philosophical positions now, concerning how animals should be treated, are a blend of deontological and utilitarian approaches. Most people think that extremes of poor welfare in animals are unacceptable and that those who keep animals should strive for good welfare. Hence animal welfare science, which allows the evaluation of welfare, has developed rapidly.

  • Background: Dental hygienists emphasize the ethics of healthcare workers. To effectively cope with various ethical conflicts, it is necessary to establish a reasonable ethical value system. Therefore, this study intends to use basic data to develop ethics education programs and ethical value evaluation tools. Methods: We conducted a questionnaire survey targeting dental hygienists between January 1 and 15, 2023. A total of 251 people's responses were analyzed with SPSS Win 25.0, to perform frequency, t-test, one-way ANOVA, and multiple regression analysis. Results: The idealistic propensity (3.82 points) was higher than the relativistic propensity (3.42 points), and the absolutists showed a deontological position in the partnership area and dental hygiene work relationship area(P < 0.001). Regression analysis of factors affecting ethical values revealed that idealism (β=,444, p=0.000), marital status (β=-0.123, P = 0.035), and position (β=-0.154, P = 0.009) were significantly related to ethical propensity. Conclusion: It is necessary to develop an ethics education program that considers the ethical propensity of dental hygienists and establish firm ethical values by implementing situation-oriented ethics education that can respond to many changes and conflicts.
