치과위생사의 자기결정성동기가 직무열의에 미치는 영향 및 보상 만족도의 조절효과 (Effect of Self-determination Motivation on Job Engagement and the Moderating Effect of Compensation Satisfaction in Dental Hygienists)

  • Purpose : The purpose of this study was two-fold: to identify the effect of dental hygienist's self-determination motivation on their job engagement and to analyze the moderating effect of compensation satisfaction that affect the relevance. Methods : Data were collected using a structured self-report questionnaire administered to 260 dental hygienists working in dental hospitals and clinics in Busan, South Korea. These were analyzed using IBM SPSS Statistics version 26.0 and SPSS Process Macro 3.5. A frequency analysis, including the respondents' general characteristics, frequency, percentages, and standard deviations, was performed. A regression analysis was also performed using SPSS Process Macro to verify the moderating effect of compensation satisfaction in the effect of self-determination motivation on job engagement. Results : The self-determination motivation of the dental hygienists had a statistically significant positive effect on their job engagement, which was the dependent variable. Higher intangible compensation satisfaction levels led to a stronger effect of intrinsic motivation but a weaker effect of extrinsic motivation on job engagement. Moreover, higher tangible compensation satisfaction levels strengthened the effect of intrinsic motivation on job engagement. Conclusion : Recently, the demand for oral health care has been increasing, Competition in the dental medical service market warrants, high-quality dental services based on accurate diagnosis and treatment. In this context, dental hygienists' job engagement must be improved. For this purpose, increasing the satisfaction of dental hygienists with self-determination motivation and appropriate compensation is effective. In addition, attention must be paid to the moderating effect of compensation satisfaction on the relationship between intrinsic motivation and job engagement. On the basis of the implications of this study, the results can be used as basic data for improving dental hygienists' welfare system and manpower management.

치과위생사의 업무 협력과 보상 만족도가 직무착근도에 미치는 영향: 긍정심리자본의 매개효과 (The effect of dental hygienist work cooperation and compensation satisfaction on job embeddedness: mediating effect of positive psychological capital)

  • Objectives: The purpose of this study is to identify the effects of dental hygienists' cooperation and compensation satisfaction on job embeddedness through positive psychological capital, and to provide basic data on ways to improve the welfare of dental hygienists and the quality of medical services. Methods: From July 1 to 20, 2023, a questionnaire survey was administered to 206 dental hygienists via an online link. SPSS Statistics ver. 22.0 was used to conduct the frequency analysis, t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficient, multiple regression analysis and hierarchical multiple regression. Results: Factors influencing dental hygienists' job embeddedness were type of compensation satisfaction (β=0.362, p<0.001), intangible compensation satisfaction (β=0.190, p<0.001), cooperation between dental hygienists (β=0.178, p<0.05), and age (β=0.112, p<0.05). Positive psychological capital was found to have a complete mediating effect on work cooperation in the effect of dental hygienists' job embeddedness (p>0.05), and partial mediating effect on compensation satisfaction (p<0.01). As a result of the Sobel test, it was confirmed that it was statistically significant as dental hygienist work cooperation (Z=2.339, p=0.019), dentist work cooperation (Z=1.985, p=0.047), intangible compensation satisfaction (Z=2.286, p=0.022), and type compensation satisfaction (Z=1.980, p=0.048). Conclusions: In order to improve the work environment of dental hygienists, develop programs to improve positive psychological capital, secure access to education, and various related studies are needed.

Cone-beam computed tomography analysis of transverse dental compensation in patients with skeletal Class III malocclusion and facial asymmetry

  • Objective: The purpose of this study was to analyze the transverse dental compensation in reference to the maxillary and mandibular basal bones using cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) and evaluate the correlations between transverse dental compensation and skeletal asymmetry variables in patients with skeletal Class III malocclusion and facial asymmetry. Methods: Thirty patients with skeletal Class I (control group; 15 men, 15 women) and 30 patients with skeletal Class III with menton deviation (asymmetry group; 16 men, 14 women) were included. Skeletal and dental measurements were acquired from reconstructed CBCT images using OnDemand3D 1.0 software. All measurements were compared between groups and between the deviated and nondeviated sides of the asymmetry group. Correlation coefficients for the association between skeletal and dental measurements were calculated. Results: Differences in the ramus inclination (p < 0.001), maxillary canine and first molar inclinations (p < 0.001), and distances from the canine and first molar cusp tips to the midmaxillary or midmandibular planes (p < 0.01) between the right and left sides were significantly greater in the asymmetry group than in the control group. In the asymmetry group, the ramus inclination difference (p < 0.05) and mandibular canting (p < 0.05) were correlated with the amount of menton deviation. In addition, dental measurements were positively correlated with the amount of menton deviation (p < 0.05). Conclusions: Transverse dental compensation was correlated with the maxillary and mandibular asymmetry patterns. These results would be helpful in understanding the pattern of transverse dental compensation and planning surgical procedure for patients with skeletal Class III malocclusion and facial asymmetry.

치과위생사의 직무스트레스와 직무만족도의 관련성 (Relationship between job stress and job satisfaction of dental hygienists)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify Relationship between job stress and job satisfaction of dental hygienists Methods: The subjects of this study were to 173 dental hygienists who work in dental diseases and clinics in Busan, Ulsan, and Gyeongnam, and through the Internet link using web questionnaire from August 1 to October 30, 2023. Distributed and collected. The collected data were analyzed using an IBM SPSS ver. 26. Results: As for general characteristics, job stress was high in the 40s age group, work experience was high in the 1-4 year group, and job satisfaction was high in the 4-7 year or more group. As factors affecting job satisfaction, it was found that the lower the Self- determination of duties , the lower the Job insecurity, and the lower the Inadequate compensation, the higher the job satisfaction. Conclusions: From the above results, in order to increase the job satisfaction of dental hygienists, it is necessary to ensure stable employment and at the same time allow them to focus on tasks specific to dental hygiene, as job satisfaction decreases if a lot of chores unrelated to dental hygiene work are performed, and Self- determination of duties and an appropriate compensation system must be established. If an excessive workload is given or there is frequent overtime work, compensation should be made commensurate with experience or ability, and in the case of frequent overtime work, appropriate compensation should be provided through allowances or incentives.

골격성 III급 부정교합자의 악골 부조화가 구치부 치성보상에 미치는 영향 (The relationship between posterior dental compensation and skeletal discrepancy in class III malocclusion)

  • 골격성 III급 부정교합자는 부적절한 악골 위치에서 기능 교합을 유지하기 위해 치아의 경사도와 수직적 위치가 변화하게 된다. 이러한 치성보상은 전치부 및 구치부 전반에 걸쳐 일어나며, 현재 보편적으로 시행되고 있는 악교정수술을 위한 술전교정시 이를 제거하여 각 골격 구조내에서 치아들이 적절히 위치되도록 하여야 한다. 전치부 치성보상에 관한 측모 두부방사선 사진을 이용한 연구는 많이 시행되어졌으나, 구치부 경사도에 관한 연구는 미미 한 실정이다. 이에 본 연구는 성인 골격성 III급 부정교합자의 전후방적, 수직적 악골 부조화에 따른 폭경 부조화 및 구치 경사도 변화를 알아보기 위해 진단 모형상에서 상하악 견치, 제1소구치, 제1대구치 부위의 기저골 폭경을 측정하여 상악에 대한 하악의 비율을 구하였으며, 모형 을 삭제하여 좌우 구치간 경사도를 측정하였다. 악골 부조화 심화에 따른 기저골 폭경 비율과 제1대구치 협설 경사도 변화의 상관관계를 조사하여 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. 1. 골격성 III급 부정교합자의 악골의 전후방적 부조화가 심화될수록 상하악 구치간 각도합이 증가하여 치성보상이 많이 일어났으며, 특히 하악 구치가 설측 경사되는 치성보상을 보였다(p<0.001). 2. 골격성 III급 부정교합자의 악골의 수직적 부조화 및 폭경 부조화와 구치부 치성보상 간에는 유의할만한 상관성이 없었다. 3. 골격성 III급 부정교합자의 전후방적, 수직적 부조화의 심화와 기저골 폭경 부조화는 유의할만한 상관성이 없었다.

일부 치위생과 학생들의 셀프리더십이 스트레스 대처방식에 미치는 영향 (Effect of self-leadership on stress coping in dental hygiene students)

  • Objectives : This study examined the stress-coping methods used by Dental Hygiene students according to their degree of self-leadership to provide basic data for students' self-leadership training programs. Methods : Dental Hygiene students in Seoul and Gyeonggi-do were surveyed to measure their self-leadership in six categories-self-expectation, rehearsal, goal-setting, self-compensation, self-criticism, and constructive thinking-sand, in four categories-sproblem-centered coping, social support coping, emotional coping, and wishful thinking coping-son a scale of 1 through 5. Results : The findings of the study were as follows: The overall average score of self-leadership was 3.34 and the scores for each subfactor were 3.82 for self-compensation, 3.57 for self-expectation, 3.44 for rehearsal, 3.42 for goal-setting, 3.30 for self-criticism, and 3.12 for constructive thinking. The overall average score of stress-coping was 3.29 out of 5 and the scores for active coping were 3.14 for problem-centered coping and 3.38 for social support coping and for passive coping were 3.69 for wishful thinking coping and 2.95 for emotional coping. Self-leadership showed significant difference in terms of satisfaction with major and motivation for application. The six sub-factors of self-leadership and problem-centered coping and wishful thinking coping, the sub-factors of stress-coping, had significant correlations. Self-compensation and constructive thinking were significant factors of self-leadership that affect stress-coping. Conclusions : Based on the above findings, it was found that Dental Hygiene students' self-leadership is related to the use of efficient stress-coping. Therefore, it would be necessary to develop and apply educational approaches to improve their self-leadership so they can efficiently cope with various stressors that they will face after finding jobs.

치과위생사들의 직무만족도가 이직의도에 미치는 영향 (The effect influence of job satisfaction on turnover intention in dental hygienists)

  • Objectives: The purpose of this study was to analyze the influence of job satisfaction on turnover intention in dental hygienists. Methods: A self-reported questionnaire was filled out by 169 dental hygienists in Gwangju from June 1 to December 31, 2014. Data analysis was performed with t-test, ANOVA and multiple regression analysis using SPSS WIN version 21.0 program. Results: By Likert 5 points scale, mean of job satisfaction was $3.08{\pm}0.35$ points, mean of personal relationship was $3.35{\pm}0.55$ points, and monthly compensation and promotion were $2.91{\pm}0.63$ points and mean of autonomy was $2.79{\pm}0.70$ points. Job satisfaction was the highest in those who were married and over 30 years old. Job satisfaction was highest in those who worked in the general hospitals and had longer career as a dental hygienist. Mean of the turnover intention was $3.31{\pm}0.81$ points. The factors of job satisfaction and turnover intention had the inverse correlation. The influencing factor of turnover intention(${\beta}=-0.327$) were monthly compensation, promotion, job satisfaction(${\beta}=-0.301$), and satisfaction for the location of the job(${\beta}=-0.157$). Conclusions: Turnover intention of dental hygienists is closely related to economic compensation, promotion, working department, and location of the job.

일부 치과위생사의 직무스트레스 및 사회심리적 스트레스와의 관련성 연구 : 대구지역 중심으로 (Analysis of Correlation between Dental Hygienist's Job Stress and Social Psychological Stress)

  • 일부지역 치과위생사를 대상으로 일반적 특성 및 근무특성, 직무스트레스, 사회심리 스트레스와의 관련성을 파악하기 위해 치과위생사 219명을 대상으로 최종분석결과 치과위생사의 직무스트레스 총점은 $47.41{\pm}7.46$이었고, 사회심리적 스트레스의 총점은 $23.05{\pm}7.49$이었다. 연령이 낮을수록 직위가 낮을수록 미혼일수록 물리환경, 직무자율성, 부상부적절에 대한 직무스트레스가 높았고, 수입, 학력이 낮을수록 직무경력기간이 짧을수록 직무자율에 대한 스트레스가 높게 나타났다. 일평균근무시간이 길수록 물리환경, 직무요구에 대한 스트레스가 높았다. 물리환경, 직무요구, 직무자율성, 직무불안정, 보상부적절, 직장문화에 대한 직무스트레스가 높을수록 사회심리 스트레스가 높아지는 양의 상관관계를 가졌다. 직무불안정, 조직체계, 보상부적절, 직급이 높을수록 물리환경 스트레스가 많을수록 사회심리 스트레스에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다.

전라북도 일부 지역 치과위생사의 직무만족도 조사 - 치과의료기관 운영제도를 중심으로 - (A research on the job satisfaction of dental hygienists an area in Jeollabuk-do - The focus of management system -)

  • Purpose : This study was to figure out the factors affecting the job satisfaction of dental hygienists working in dental clinics. To gain the data to establish the systems for enhancing the job satisfaction of the dental hygienists. This research has been conducted dental hygienists working in dental clinics institutes located in Jeonju and Iksan city, Jeollabuk-do, korea. Methods : The collected data were analyzed by using an SPSS statistical program, obtaining the following results. Result : The average satisfactory level of the dental hygienists was 3.45 out of 5 points. The most important factor affecting of the job satisfaction was the relationship with patients as 3.83 points and the least influencing factor was the compensation as 3.09 points. The management system and the satisfactory level were also correlated. For each of details, communication structure and working environment showed the highest correlation with Pearson's correlation coefficient of 0.610. Among the management system the general job satisfaction according to the communicational structure was higher when they had better communication with dentists. Among the management system, the job satisfaction according to structural factors was higher when they have manuals for the job, when their job is taken partial charge of the responsibility As for job satisfaction by the welfare support factor in the clinic management system, the better an informal social gathering, the higher general job satisfaction. As for job satisfaction by the job autonomy factor in the clinic management system, the more evenly distributed job opportunities and chances of reeducation for professional development led to higher general job satisfaction. Conclusion : The compensation-related grade was the lowest among the 6 constituent factors of the job satisfaction, it seems that improvement of wages and incentives is required to enhance the satisfaction of the dental hygienists. Also, improving factors affecting the management system of the dental service institute can increase the job satisfaction since the job satisfaction was higher when the institutes have the better management system.

치과의사의 설문을 통해 본 치과의료사고 및 분쟁 (Dental accidents and malpractice disputes survey)

  • The dental accidents and disputes among Korean dentists have been on the increase with time. The main purpose of this study is to figure out the actual status of the dental accidents and malpractice disputes based on a questionnaire survey. The findings showed that 64.8% of respondents had been experienced the dental accidents, and 52.9% of respondents had been locked into the disputes. Within 5 years from the start of dental practice, the nearly half of the dentists responded the experience of the dental accidents and disputes. The amount of compensation for dental accidents and disputes wereindentalimplant, prosthodontics, and oral surgery treatments in descending order. The highest incident type was wrong process/treatment/procedure problem in clinical process/procedure.
