Objectives: The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between stress and halitosis in a representative sample of Korean adolescents. Methods: This study was based on the 15th Korea Youth Risk Behavior Survey (2019). The final participation rate in the survey was 95.3%; 57,303 out of 60,100 (95.3%) adolescents aged 13-18 years were selected. Multiple logistic regression with complex samples was performed to identify the correlation between stress and halitosis. Stress level was classified as 'very much', 'a little', and 'not much' and halitosis was defined as the presence of an unpleasant odor in the oral cavity. Results: The prevalence of halitosis among students was 21.3%. As a result of multiple regression analysis, the 'a little' [odds ratio (OR); 1.39, 95% confidence interval (CI); 1.29-1.49] and 'very much' stress group (OR; 1.78, 95% CI; 1.66-1.90) exhibited significantly higher risk of halitosis than the 'not much' stress group. Conclusions: A significant correlation between stress and halitosis exists among Korean adolescents. Therefore, psychological factors such as stress should be considered in managing halitosis in adolescents.

This study obtained basic data for developing human resources with creativity convergence competency by surveying and analyzing the level of creativity convergence competency of university students. The study was conducted from October 1, 2019 to November 10, 2019 on university students attending the departments of computer science, pharmaceutical engineering, physical therapy and dental hygiene. The data from 296 students was finally used for this study, and IBM SPSS/Win statics 23.0 programs were used to analyze the data. Students who graduated from Seoul/Gyeonggi High School or those students with high undergraduate satisfaction were found to have high creativity convergence ability, and these results were statistically significant. Further, the group of students who had experience with Campus/Suburban competition, Global Competency training/ International exchange programs or the Capstone Design/Team Based Project showed high creativity convergence competency, and these results were statistically significant. Thus, this study identified the necessity of developing and operating various extra-curricular programs at education institutes in order to enhance students' creativity convergence capability.
This study was conducted to provide basic information snack intake frequency, eating patterns and current dental caries in high school students. A total of 626 students (333 males, 293 females) in Gimhae city participated in this study. The survey conducted by using a self-administered questionnaire in January, 2008. Dental caries-related information was obtained during the students' physical examination at the designated clinical hospital in 2007. The results were as follows. Sixty three point nine percent of the students were shown to have dental caries, which includes a sealant. The average number of dental caries was 3.1, which was greater in female than in male students (p < 0.001). Eighty six percent of the students were shown to maintain correct toothbrushing habits to prevent dental caries. Twenty percent of the participants brushed there teeth ‘instantly’ a meal or snack, and 27.3% of the participants brushed there teeth, gum and tongue, and 58.9% of the participants received toothbrushing education. In snack intake frequency, participants with no dental caries had preference to white milk whereas those with dental caries had preference to snacks such as chewing gums and carbonated beverages. Female students were shown to have more dental caries maybe because of their higher snack intake frequency in chocolate, cookies and chips, yoghurt and ice-cream. Dental caries did not affect eating behaviors. This study suggests that more education for correct toothbrushing and cariogenic and detergent foods are needed for better dental hygiene.
In this study, a survey was conducted on Chinese students in a university in Busan, in order to investigate the relationship between oral health-related self-efficacy and quality of life according to smoking experience of Chinese students living in South Korea. The results of analyzing collected data with the SPSS 24.0 program showed that students without smoking experience had higher scores in brushing, oral health-related self-efficacy and oral health-related quality of life than those with smoking experience. Brushing self-efficacy was positively correlated with oral health-related self-efficacy, and oral health-related self-efficacy was positively correlated with oral health quality of life, which were all statistically significant. It was found that the presence or absence of smoking experience was associated with oral health promotion and improvement of quality of life in foreign students. Thus, the results of this study are expected to be used as basic data by conveying the necessity of developing oral health promotion programs for healthy living of foreign students.
The aim of this study was to the self-concept and ethical propensity of dental hygienists. The subjects of this study were 748 dental hygienists from January 23 to March 30, 2012. Data were analyzed with t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson's correlation, and stepwise multiple regression analysis SPSS 19.0. The average score of self-concept was 3.44 points in dental hygienists. The self-concept scores were higher in absolutists (3.53 points) and situationists (3.51 points) than subjectivists (3.35 points) and exceptionists (3.35 points) in the ethical types. The self-concept Influence factors were idealism, relativism, job satisfaction level, and annual salary. In order to help dental hygiene students adopt to rapidly changing society, the university should make efforts to develop a curriculum and program for improving self concept and ethical propensity.
This research carried out a survey for 569 students in a junior college of jeollanamdo to provide a needful basic data in developing suitable health promotion program and creating a direction of the oral hygiene education process to intial adult population after holding the oral cavity health action and a affecting factors to it. A collected data obtained the following conclusion. According to school grade, a difference of action factor is Chi-square and Pearson's correlation coeficient in actionfactor and acknowledgement-perception factor and a step-by-step recurrence analysis processed a related factor of the oral health action. 1. A related action factor of the oral health appeared meaningful difference of the oral cavity medical examination, the oral cavity clean device use or not, dental surgery prevention cure or not among the third grade who had the most experience of the oral hygiene education within one year recently. 2. A significant of the oral cavity health acknowledged and perceived and a concern of the oral cavity health, acknowledged the oral cavity health state distribution are the highest in the third grade. 3. According to monthly income, a large income is higher than a small income about self-effects in a relation between the oral cavity health action and acknowledgement-perception factor. the average of a large income is 30.59(${\pm}5.79$). The obstacle of the oral cavity health action is 12.51(${\pm}3.19$). a large income is highest. according to school career, under middle school layer obtained the highest average 16.33(${\pm}3.53$). according to a school year, acknowledge-perception factor of the oral cavity health control of the third grade is the highest(38.81(${\pm}6.25$). 4. In mutual relation between acknowledge-perception factor and the oral cavity health action, a variable constants of meaningful mutual relation are the oral cavity health perception, self-effects, the oral cavity health action obstacle, the oral cavity health action benefit, the oral health action control, aggressive. and they are self-effects, the oral cavity health action in the oral cavity health perception. A significant of the oral cavity health and the oral cavity health action obstacle are the oral cavity health action benefit and the oral cavity health action control. 5. The affecting factors to the oral health action are self-effects, action factor, acknowledged the oral health control.

Background: Many people experience varying levels of discomfort when confronted with the prospect of dental treatment. Dental treatment can be a traumatic experience, especially for children and adolescents with dental anxiety. In this age group, dental fear causes a significant problem in dental management and has been related to severe dental caries and dental pain. The Dental Fear Survey (DFS) is the most widely used measure of dental fear. This study was undertaken to develop the Korean version of the DFS (K-DFS) and test its reliability and validity. Methods: The K-DFS, which uses projective techniques to measure children's and adolescents' dental fear, was developed. The DFS was translated into Korean and participants were selected via convenience sampling. Reliability and validity were tested using data from a sample of 813 middle school students in Gyeonggi Province, selected from the Self questionnaire survey. The K-DFS was administered twice to 102 adolescents aged 12-15 years. Results: The K-DFS had high internal consistency reliability (99.1%) but low test-retest reliability. Conclusions: The results indicate that the Korean versions of the DFS have good internal consistency reliabilities and test-retest validities. However, we need to further examine the test-retest reliability of the K-DFS and replicate the current study in different samples covering various age groups.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the factors affecting the actual condition and effectiveness of orthodontic treatment among some dental hygienists and students. This study was carried out from September to December, 2016 to describe the purpose of the study and the method of writing the questionnaire for some dental hygienists and students. The final 430 sections were analyzed and analyzed using PASW Statistics 18.0. First, the duration of orthodontic treatment was 34.4% for college students, 36.9% for orthodontic treatment for less than 2 ~ 3 years, and 62.3% for internal motivation. The factors affecting the orthodontic treatment effect were the patient's cooperativeness and the hospital's scale was the lowest. The higher the grade level, the more the clinical experience and dental part-time experience were, the higher the correlation between dental specialty and dental hygienist's medical service, education and counseling was .521(P<0.001). The higher the level of cooperation, the higher the grade level, the more dental treatment and orthodontic treatment experience, the lower the level of family co - operation. Therefore, it is important to emphasize the importance of cooperation of orthodontic patients and to develop a strategic program for each individual patient.
Objectives: This study analyzes factors related to English communication skills in the dental health services of clinical dental hygienists who provide dental medical services to foreigners. Methods: Surveys were conducted to measure students' English communication skills. Participants comprised 195 clinical dental hygienists working at dental English study cafes or who provided dental medical services to foreigners. After analyzing the differences in English communication skills, hierarchical multiple regression analysis was performed on the factors related to English communication skills. Results: English communication skill of dental hygienists was 1.96 points out of 5 points. The factors related to the English communication skill of the clinical dental hygienists were foreign patient care, language training experience, overseas living experience, and certified English proficiency. The adjusted explanatory power of this model was 53.0%. Conclusions: Dental hygienists in charge of foreign patients have experience in language training and overseas residence, have a language qualification certificate, and have higher English communication skills. It is necessary to develop English language learning programs based on metaverse to develop the English communication skills of dental hygienists who provide dental health services to foreign patients and to operate a creative educational environment to increase interest in learning English.
Objective : This study was conducted to examine the relationships among health & oral health promotion behavior according to BMI. The subjects in this study were 704 high school students. Methods : A survey was conducted, and Chi-square, T-test, ANOVA, and Pearson's correlation coefficient were used for data analysis. The findings of the study were as follows; Results : Man is normal weight group accounted for 65.9%, and women is 69.7%(p<0.001). Health & oral health promotion behavior of nutrition(p<0.01) and exercise(p<0.001) that men were higher than women. But health responsibility was higher to women(p<0.001). As to the relationship for the BMI to health promotion behavior, nutrition is over weight group accounted for 3.45, obesity group 3.43, normal weight group 3.26 and under weight group 3.16(p<0.05). Exercise is over weight group accounted for 2.70(p<0.05), and nutrition for oral health is obesity group accounted for 3.47(p<0.05). As for correlation among the BMI, stronger social support, more exercise, better nutrition for oral health, there was a statistically significant relationship between BMI. As the factors significantly affecting BMI, their satisfaction level with exercise, nutrition for oral health, life appreciation, stress management for oral health. Conclusions : This study suggested that health & oral health promotion behavior of high school students in an effort to help improve policy setting on health projects and determine how to teach teens to promote their health throughout their lives.
