The purpose of this study was to assess the relationship that adolescent stress perception level has with dietary habits and oral health behaviors in high school students. A survey of high school students in some areas of the Jeollabuk-do province of South Korea was conducted. Five hundred fourteen survey responses were used in the final analysis. As a result of the questionnaire survey, the following conclusions were obtained. The highest stress type was indicated to be academic stress (mean${\pm}$standard deviation [SD], $3.09{\pm}0.89$). The next was shown to be home (family) stress (mean${\pm}$SD, $2.85{\pm}0.84$). The possibility of using a dental clinic was indicated to be less in girls than boys (p<0.001). Regarding subjective oral health behavior, the possibility of visiting a dental clinic was low in those who thought that their own oral health condition was not good or moderate (p<0.05). Also, it was shown that the higher stress led to the higher possibility of visiting a dental clinic (p<0.01). Students with higher grades had a in the upper ranks were indicated to have high possibility of having a regular meal (p<0.01). Higher stress led to the significantly higher possibility of eating cariogenic food (p<0.01). Students with median grades had a high possibility of eating cariogenic food (p<0.01), while students with higher grades had a low possibility of eating cariogenic food (p<0.05). These resultss show that stress perception level influences dietary habits and oral health behaviors. Thus, there is a need to develop a program in high scholls to promote the physical and mental health of students to relieve stress. Substantial and systematic oral health education is thought to be likely needed to develop desirable dietary habits.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the changes in turnover intention according to the level of Burn out and the mediating effect in fire officer. Higher levels of emotional labor and turnover intention resulted in higher levels of burn out(p<0.05). We used the logistic regression analysis to compare change of turnover intention according to the level of burn out. In logistic regression analysis, largest mediating factor were working days per week, the number of moving case per a day, physical condition, emotional labor and the odds(Likely to with high turnover intention) was down by 38.9% after adjustment for mediating factors. The results of this study indicate that emotional labor was negatively impact on burn out in fire officer. To reduce the burn out and the turnover intention, it is necessary to do more efforts to improve work environment (working days per week, the number of moving case per a day and emotional labor) and management personal factor(physical condition) for the fire office should be made to reduce such negative effects.
Purpose: The purpose of this in vitro study is to evaluate the clinical acceptability of the marginal discrepancies and internal spacing of multi-layered zirconia prothesis by speed sintering. Methods: The two specimen types come from the same manufacturer but differ in the ingredients in layered zirconia and indication, that is anterior and posterior. The designs of both specimens were full contour crowns, and a total of 20 pieces were repeatedly fabricated, 10 for each group. The specimens were divided into two subgroups (n=10) and sintered with various total times (4 hours, 8 hours) at the maximum temperature (1,530℃). The gap between the two groups of multi-layered zirconia prostheses was measured using a silicone replica technique of 2D analysis method. The independent sample t-test was then used to compare and analyze the data obtained from the two groups (α=0.05). Results: The marginal and internal gap was superior in the 8-hour compared to the 4-hour group, and the results exhibited significant differences (p<0.05). All specimens showed that using the speed sintering schedule does not exceed the clinically permitted value of 120 ㎛, meaning zirconia prothesis using the speed sintering was adequate. Conclusion: The sintering condition is shown to affect the marginal and internal gaps of multi-layered zirconia restoration.
This research, which was conducted for dental hygienists, intended to check out what factors have an influence on their behaviors by measuring the level of self-efficacy and consciousness on the use of radiation, knowledge and attitude on radiation safety management(RSM). The subjects were 235 of the dental hygienists and this study performed a survey 8 May to 17 June, 2011. The survey results were as follows. 1. As a result of comparing the average of the self-efficacy according to the general characteristics, a statistically meaningful difference(p<0.05) was found according to health condition, protection facilities condition. 2. As a result of comparing the average of consciousness about radiation use according to the general characteristics, a statistically meaningful difference(p<0.05) was found according to medical institute type, protection facilities conditions. 3. As a result of comparing the average of the behaviors for RSM according to the general characteristics, a statistically meaningful difference(p<0.05) was found according to monthly income, medical institute type, whether or not education on radiation was conducted, the number of education, education type, and protection facilities condition. 4. As a result of analyzing what factors have an influence on the behaviors for RSM by employing the points of those behaviors as a dependent variable and self-efficacy, consciousness, knowledge and attitude as an independent variable in order to investigate those factors, it turned out that the factors which had a relatively larger influence on the point of behaviors were attitude and self-efficacy by that order(p<0.05). In conclusion, we believe that a variety of programs should be offered to provide knowledge on RSM as a prerequisite for improving the level of RSM behaviors by dental hygienists.

The purpose of this study is to compare the health status of Korean and Chosun-Jok elementary children. To accurately achieve the purpose, a survey was conducted in Yanbian area in China and Kojae in Korea during the period of June 15 to July in 1995. This survey was performed by using two survey methods. The first was the parents' survey method. It asked structured questions about their children. The second method focused on the actual health of the children. It used the collection of children's physical records in school. Guided by the school teachers, each child distributed the questionnaires to their parents. We used stratified-cluster sampling method to determine subjects. 1,083 questionnaires of 1,749 were used to analyze the data (666 questionnaires were incomplete and were not used in the analysis). Each questionnaire matched the data of their physical record. : Body Weight, Body Height, Chest-Circumstance, Eyesight, Dental Health. Using the data, we compared the BMI(Body Mass Index) the Koreans and Chosun-Jok in China. The results of this study were as follows : Comparing the general average physique of contained body height, body weight and chest circumstance of Korean and Chosun-Jok, the general physique of Chosun-Jok is inferior to that of Korean regardless of age and sex. Meanwhile, the average physical constitution of Korean compared the Chosun-Jok (i.e. eyesight and dental hygiene), revealed that the physical constitution of Chosun-Jok is superior to that of Korean without concern of age and sex. Average BMI of Chosun-Jok is lower than that of Koreans. But, it seemed that most of the students in both groups maintain an adequate health level. In the case of children from 10 to 12 years old, females are superior to males through all data contained of the body weight, the chest circumstance, and the body height. It seems that females and males have a different maximum growth age. Most of the parents preferred a good physique as a good health condition for their children. The physique of each child was affected with some variables, including the number of family members, and the educational level of the parents. According to the above results, the students' physique in Korea is superior to that of Chosun-Jok in China. But, Koreans are inferior to Ethnic Koreans in China in the students' physical constitution. In conclusion, we consider Chosun-Jok in China to maintain an adequate health level in their physique and physical constitution.
Objectives: To analyze the relationships of socioeconomic status(SES) to health status and health behaviors in the elderly. Methods: Data were obtained from self-administered questionnaire of 4,587 persons, older than 65 years, living in a community. We measured the sociodemographic characteristics, socioeconomic status, health status (subjective health status, acute disease, admission experience, dental state, chronic disease etc.), activities of daily living (ADL), instrumental activities of daily living (IADL), and mini-mental state examination-Korean (MMSEK). Binary and multinominal logistic regression analyses were employed to analyze factors affecting on the socioeconomic status of the elderly. Results: With regard to the SES and health status, those with a low SES had poorer subjective health states and lower satisfaction about their physical health. Also, acute disease experiences, admission rates and tooth deciduation rates were higher in those of low SES. In the view of physical and cognitive functions, the ADL, IADL and MMSE-K scores were also lower in those of low SES. However, with regard to health behaviors, lower smoking and alcohol drinking rates were found in the low SES group, and a similar trend was shown with regular physical exercise, eating breakfast, and regular physical health check-up. From these findings, we surmise that those with low SES have a poorer health condition and less money to spend on health, therefore, they can not smoke or drink alcohol, exercise and or have a physical health check-up. Conclusion: This study suggests that socioeconomic status plays an important role in health behaviors and status of the elderly. Low socioeconomic status bring about unhealthy behavior and poor health status in the elderly. Therefore, more specific target oriented(esp. low SES persons) health promotion activities for the elderly are very important to improve not only their health status, but their health inequity also.
In this study, PASW Statistics ver. 18.0 was used to analyze the correlation between chewing difficulty and osteoarthritis in the population of 8,498 persons aged 50 years and older who had completed the health related questionnaire in the fifth Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey in 2010~2012. The following conclusion was drawn: The distribution of the chewing difficulty status showed that 38.8% of the respondents had chewing difficulty and that there was no significant difference by gender. Older respondents tended to have significantly greater chewing difficulty 34.3% of the respondents aged from 50 to 64 years and 46.4% of those aged 65 years and older, those who had lower levels of education and income, who were smokers, and who had higher levels of depression and stress suffered from significantly greater chewing difficulty. Chewing difficulty and osteoarthritis were correlated with each other: the respondents having chewing difficulty had 1.44 (95% confidence interval [CI], 1.23~1.70) higher prevalence of osteoarthritis than those with no such difficulty. In addition, such correlation was not found in males: the former had 1.36 (95% CI, 0.98~1.88) higher prevalence of osteoarthritis than the latter, which was not statistically significant. Such correlation was found in females: the former had 1.47 (95% CI, 1.22~1.76) higher prevalence of osteoarthritis than the latter, which was statistically significant. Therefore, the chewing difficulty status affected osteoarthritis for females aged 50 years and older. Therefore, the efforts to solve oral health problems through oral hygiene would help prevent osteoarthritis from worsening and manage the condition.

Recently, jawbone osteonecrosis has been largely reported as a potential adverse effect of bisphosphonate (BP)administration. Currently available published incidence data for BRONJ are based on retrospective studies and estimates of cumulative incidence range from 0.8 to 12%. The mandible is more commonly affected than the maxilla (2:1 ratio), and 60-70% of cases are preceded by a dental surgical procedure. The signs and symptoms that may occur before the appearance of clinical evident osteonecrosis include changes in the health of periodontal tissues, non-healing mucosal ulcers, loose teeth and unexplained soft-tissue infection. Tooth extraction as a precipitating event is a common observation. The significant benefits that bisphosphonates offer to patients clearly surpass the risk of potential side effects; however, any patient for whom prolonged bisphosphonate therapy is indicated, should be provided with preventive dental care in order to minimize the risk of developing this severe condition.
This Convergence study aimed to analyze the oral health education, oral health awareness and oral health knowledge of early childhood education' students. Questionnaire survey on the of five universities early childhood education' 314 students in Daegu and Gyeongbuk provinces. Average score of oral health awareness was 3.62, which was high female students, 3rd grade, athlete, high case on oral health condition perception and childhood oral health education experience. Oral health knowledge correct answer of 15 items was average 9.63, which was higher female students, 3rd grade, nonsmokers, have received childhood oral health education, responded to the need for childhood oral health education. Regression analysis showed that Y (oral health awareness) = 2.350 + 0.242 (exercise) +0.387 (oral health education) +0.134 (childhood oral health education experience) +0.067 (oral health knowledge). In order to promote infants oral health of department of Early Childhood Education, it would be necessary to develop the systematic programs to perform the childhood oral health education.
The aim of this cross-sectional study was to investigate the relationship between regular interdental cleaning and periodontal condition. A total of 319 pregnant women were recruited at 21 to 24 weeks of gestation. Information on demographics, health status and health behaviors including regulary use of interdental cleaning aids, that can influence periodontal condition was collected. Full mouth periodontal probing was performed. Periodontitis was defined as CAL of 4.0 mm or greater on 2 or more sites not on the same tooth. Gingivitis was defined as 15 percent and more sites showed bleeding on probing. Gingival crevice fluid sample was collected for bacterial analysis. We studied a total of 319 subjects, comprised of 116 subjects who use interdental cleaning device regularly and 203 subjects who didn't. Subjects who do not use interdental cleaning regularly had 2.3 times higher risk of gingivitis and 2.7 times of periodontitis, 2.3 times more amount of P. gingivalis. There was a significant relationship between regular interdental cleaning and periodontal condition in Korea.
