  • Dual Energy X-ray Absorptiometry(DEXA) is commonly used to diagnose Osteoporosis. The errors of DEXA bone density operation are caused by operator, bone mineral density meter, blood testing, patient. We focus on operator error then study about how much influence operator's region of intest(ROI) in bone testing result. During from March to July in 2011. 50 patients ware selected respectively from 30, 40, 50, 60, and 70 age groups who came to Korea University Medical Center(KUMC) for their Osteoporosis treatment. A-test was performed with usually ROI and B-test was performed with most widely ROI. Then, We compare A-test and B-test for find maximum difference of T-score error which occurred operator ROI controlling. Standard deviation of T-score of B-test showed 0.1 higher then A-test in femur neck. Standard deviation of B-test showed 0.2 higher then A-test in Ward's area which in Greater trocanter and Inter trocanter. Standard deviation of B-test showed 0,1 lower then A-test in L-1. Bone density testing about Two hundred patients results are as follow. When operator ROI was changed wider than normal ROI, bone density of femur was measured more higher but bone density of L-spine was measured more lower then normal bone density. That means, sometime DEXA bone density testing result is dependent by operator ROI controlling. This is relevant with the patient's medicine and health insurance, thus, tester always keep the size of ROI for to prevent any problem in the patient.

  • The influence of electric current on the springback characteristics of AZX311 magnesium alloy and martensitic steel after V-bending test is investigated. Various pulsed electric currents are applied into the specimens followed by a V-bending test, and the changes in the springback angle are measured. In order to evaluate not only the thermal effect but also the athermal effect of electric current on the springback angle, the temperature rises resulting from the applied electric current are measured for all test conditions. As a result, it was found that the springback is significantly decreased as the current density increases. As for the martensitic steel, since the dislocation recovery immoderately occurs at a high electric current density condition of $80A/mm^2$, the optimal current density condition should be required.

  • There are two nonparametric methods that use empirical distribution functions and probability density estimators for the test of the distribution change of data. In this paper we investigate the two methods precisely and summarize the results of previous research. We assume several probability models to make a simulation study of the change point analysis and to examine the finite sample behavior of the two methods. Empirical powers are compared to verify which is better for each model.

  • A helical probe test (HPT) suitable for in.situ soil exploration to a shallow depth and compaction control were developed and tested in different soils alongside traditional in-situ tests, including Standard Penetration Test (SPT), Cone Penetration Test (CPT) and in-situ density test. The helical probe test is economical and can be performed by a single person. The torque necessary to insert the probe Is used as a measure of soil characteristics. It was found that: the HPT test correlates well with the SPT test and the correlation is not sensitive to the soil type; the HPT test correlates well with the CPT test, but the correlation is sensitive to the soil type; the HPT torque provides a sensitive measure of relative compaction rind in-situ dry density of compacted soils; the reverse torque ratio decreases with increasing average grain sloe.

  • This study was conducted to investigate the effect of starch as a retarder on the maximum dry density and the unconfined compressive strength of soil cement mixtures for varied starch contents (0-3%), cement contents (3-12%), and delay times (0-6hrs) in four soils. The experimental results obtained from maximum dry density and unconfined compressive strength tests are as follows: 1. Maximum dry density and unconfined compressive strength were increased greatly in soil cement mixtues rwhen starch was added as retarder but their value schanged according to soil varieties. 2. Maximum dry density showed at about 0.5 percent to 1.0 percent of starch in KY soil and about 2.0 percent to 2.5 percent in SS soil when delay time was changed in 2.4, and 6 hours in compaction test. 3. The larger content of cement was, the bigger effects of maximum dry density and compressive strength were in soil cement. mixtures. 4. As delay time changed 2.4, and 6 hours in compaction test, 7-day unconfined compressive strength showed the biggest value at about 0.5 percent of starch in KY soil and 2.0 percent in SS soil, and the maximum value of 28-day unconfined compressive strength showed at about 0.5 percent in KY soil and 1.5 percent in SS soil.

  • One of the recent issues in design of the spot-welded structure such as the automobile body is to develop an economical prediction method of the fatigue design criterion without additional fatigue test. In this paper, as one of basic investigation for developing such methods, fracture mechanical approach was investigated. First, the Model I, Mode II and Mode III, stress intensity factors were analyzed. Second, strain energy density factor (S) synthetically including them was calculated. And finally, in order to decide the systematic fatigue design criterion by using this strain energy density factor, fatigue data of the ΔP-N(sub)f obtained on the various in-plane bending type spot-welded lap joints were systematically re-arranged in the ΔS-N(sub)f relation. And its utility and reliability were verified by the theory of Weibull probability distribution function. The reliability of the proposed fatigue life prediction value at 10(sup)7 cycles by the strain energy density factor was estimated by 85%. Therefore, it is possible to decide the fatigue design criterion of spot-welded lap joint instead of the ΔP-N(sub)f relation.

  • In this study, based on the saturation magnetic flux density experimental values (Bs) of 622 Fe-based bulk metallic glasses (BMGs), regression models were applied to predict Bs using artificial neural networks (ANN), and prediction performance was evaluated. Model performance evaluation was investigated by using the F1 score together with the coefficient of determination (R2 score), which is mainly used in regression models. The coefficient of determination can be used as a performance indicator, since it shows the predicted results of the saturation magnetic flux density of full material datasets in a balanced way. However, the BMG alloy contains iron and requires a high saturation magnetic flux density to have excellent applicability as a soft magnetic material, and in this study F1 score was used as a performance indicator to better predict Bs above the threshold value of Bs (1.4 T). After obtaining two ANN models optimized for the R2 and F1 score conditions, respectively, their prediction performance was compared for the test data. As a case study to evaluate the prediction performance, new Fe-based BMG datasets that were not included in the training and test datasets were predicted using the two ANN models. The results showed that the model with an excellent F1 score achieved a more accurate prediction for a material with a high saturation magnetic flux density.

  • This paper was studied on the corrosion and corrosion-wear behavior of chromium (Cr) plating in the acidic environments. In the various pH of acidic solutions, the electrochemical polarization test and wear-corrosion test of Cr plating were carried out. And thus potential, corrosion current density and corrosion-wear loss behaviour of Cr plating are investigated.

  • The objective of this research is to investigate the problem of goodness of fit testing based on nonparametric density estimation with a data-driven smoothing parameter. The small and large smaple properties of the proposed test statistic $Z_{mn}$ are investigated with the minimizer $\widehat{m}$ of the estimated mean integrated squared error by the Diggle and Hall (1986) method.

  • We intended to apprehend the ignitability of the wood, using the ISO test for the ignitability accessment. So we first conducted the ISO test on eight kings of the wood as sample, which came from domestic for-est, and discovered the tendency of the ignitability for the wood in the condition of external factors(its density and the rate of water content, humidity). Finally it was found that the ignition time of the wood was effected by its density and, the rate of water content, the humidity in the atmosphere.
