  • Transient and asymmetric density distributions have been investigated by three-dimensional digital speckle tomography with a novel integration method. Multiple CCD images captured movements of speckles in three angles of view simultaneously because the flows were asymmetric and unsteady. The speckle movements which have been formed by a ground glass between no flow and downward butane flow from a circular half opening have been calculated by a cross-correlation tracking method so that those distances can be transferred to deflection angles of laser rays for density gradients. A novel integration method has been developed to obtain projection data from the deflection angles for the speckle tomography.'The three-dimensional density fields have been reconstructed from the accurate projection values by a real-time multiplicative algebraic reconstruction technique (MART) with the developed integration method.

Multiple CCD images captured movements of speckles in three angles of view simultaneously because the flows were asymmetric and unsteady. The speckle movements which have been formed by a ground glass between no flow and downward butane flow from an elliptical nozzle have been calculated by a cross-correlation tracking method so that those distances can be transferred to deflection angles of laser rays for density gradients. A novel integration method has been developed to obtain projection data from the deflection angles for the speckle tomography. The unsteady density fields have been reconstructed from the accurate projection values by the digital speckle tomography method using the developed integration method.

  • To inquire its usefulness of the clinical application of intelligent replenishment system of automatic X-ray film processor based on film density, we processed the serial 300 sheets of radiographic film of chest [$14{\times}14"$, HR-C type] and bone [elbow & ankle($8{\times}10"$), skull($10{\times}12"$), hand & foot($11{\times}14"$), pelvis($14{\times}17"$), HR-G type, 68, 70, 77, 85 sheets respectively]. We analyzed the characteristic corves, relative speeds, average gradients and base plus fog densities every twenty five sheets. We also evaluated the developer and fixer replenishment volumes every that time. In the chest and bone radiograph two all, the characteristic curves were little change, and the relative speeds, average gradients and base plus fog densities were within the maximum control limits. The average developer replenishment volumes were about 43m1/sheet and 39m1/sheet respectively. It brings decreased results about 29% in comparison with the conventional replenishment system. In our experiences, we conclude that the intelligent replenishment system of automatic X-ray film processor based on film density maintains image quality consistently, decreases also the replenishment volumes. Therefore, this system will be resulted in economic and environmental effects, and solve problems of over and low replenishment volume.

  • The dielectrophoretic technique was used to prepare density gradient polymers, polystyrene doped with a dipolar modifier, diphenyl sulfide. We have measured concentration gradients of the dopant by UV/Nis spectroscopy as a function of time in a nonuniform electric field. Measured concentration data at different positions of the sample confirmed that a concentration gradient arose after a nonuniform electric field was applied to the system, these data were used to compare the concentration profile with that predicted by the dielectrophoresis equation.

  • MeshFree methods have become popular owing to the ease with which high stress gradients can be identified and node density distribution can be reformulated to accomplish faster convergence. This paper presents a strategy for nodal density refinement with strain energy as basis in Element-Free Galerkin MeshFree technique. Two popular flat plate problems are considered for the demonstration of the proposed strategies. Issue of integration errors introduced during nodal density refinement have been addressed by suggesting integration cell refinement. High stress effects around two symmetrical semi-circular notches under in-plane axial load have been addressed in the first problem. The second considers crack propagation under mode I and mode II fracture loading by the way of introducing high stress intensity through line crack. The computational efficacy of the adaptive refinement strategies proposed has been highlighted.

  • Light membrane vesicles were isolated from the zucchini hypocotyl by floatation on ficoll density gradients and the proteins were solubilized with Triton X100. Three ATP-hydrolyzing enzymes were partially purified by ion-exchange and gel filtration chromatography and isoelectric focusing. There are plasma membrane-type ATPase whose activity was inhibited by vanadate but not by nitrate, tonoplast-type ATPase which was sensitive to nitrate but insensitive to vanadate and one having a phosphatase activity with a pI value different from that of an acid phosphatase. A fraction was obtained after DEAE-ion-exchange chromatography crossreacting with polyclonal antibodies against Ca2+ -ATPase from human erythrocytes.

  • A Line Density algorithm was developed to quantify the sea surface temperature distribution using NOAA Sea Surface Temperature(SST) data and Geographic Information Systems(GIS), In addition, a GIS based automation model was designed to extract the Line Density Indices were determined by applying K-means Cluster. SST data in terms of March to May obtained on the coastal area of the Uljin from 2001 to 2004 in spring were used to make two data sets of average sea water temperature map in terms of year as well as month. From the result it was formed that water temperature gradient in April was the strongest among the other months, In particular very strog formation of oceanic front as well as temperature gradients were observed in front of the coastal area around Wonduk and Jukbyeon countries. Because those coastal area is a confront zone of two cold and a warm. It is expected that the development of a Line Density Algorithm would contribute to quantify of the SST for the research of Sea Surface Front(SSF) related to marine life management and the sea environmental conservation.

  • We have calculated the velocity distribution of wind driven by Alfven waves. The assumed initial number density of wind can affect the line profiles because it produces the change in the velocity distribution under the mass conservation. Initial density $N_O=5.5{\times}10^{12}/cm^3$ is chosen for a proper initial density from the observation by Schroder(1986). The wind models for $N_O=10^9,10^{10},10^{11},5.5{\times}10^{12}/cm^3$ are calculated at ${phi}$=0.06 and ${phi}$=0.78. The line profiles for lower initial density show the strong emissions and narrow absorptions because of their steeper velocity gradients.
