  • SaaS (Software as a Service) provides software in the form of service via internet rather than software package. Thus a large number of users could use the service of new type of software service as long as they connect to internet. SaaS, as a delivery model attracted in the software industry, grows with impelling force. SaaS has been adopted as an information spreading strategy of small and medium corporate so that its effect has been recognized in both academic and practical areas. However, there are not much researches about it because SaaS is still in the introductory stage. This study focused on the success model of SaaS to find out the factors that affect usability and the satisfaction of users. The sample is based on the on-line survey for the 549 government officials who are using SaaS. At last, the number of the employed answers are 157 after unqualified ones are removed. The result shows that Security, Service quality, Price and System Integration significantly affect the usefulness and the satisfactions of users.

  • The proliferation of real-time multimedia services requires huge amounts of data transactions demanding strict quality-of-service (QoS) guarantees. Multicast transmission is a promising technique because of its efficient network resource utilization. However, high head-of-line (HOL) blocking probability and lack of service-specific QoS control should be addressed for practical implementations of multicast networks. In this paper, a topology aware fanout set division (TAFD) scheme is proposed to resolve these problems. The proposed scheme is composed of two techniques that reduce HOL blocking probability and expedite packet delivery for large-delay branches regarding multicast tree topology. Since management of global topology information is not necessary, scalability of the proposed scheme is guaranteed. Mathematical analysis investigates effects of the proposed scheme and derives optimal operational parameters. The evaluation results show that the TAFD scheme achieves significant delay reduction and satisfies required delay bounds on various multicast networks.

  • The prevalence of diabetes and its related morbidity and mortality are being increased. Despite the advancement of evidence-based pharmacotherapy in the management of diabetes, many patients in our country do not achieve satisfied therapeutic outcomes. Pharmaceutical care service can be defined as a patient-centered clinical service provided by pharmacists to improve therapeutic outcomes and quality of life of patients, by identifying, and preventing or resolving drug-related problems (DRPs). Pharmaceutical care service is interdisciplinary team-based practice, and is provided through collaborative practice agreement (CPA) between one or more physicians and pharmacists. This article describes a model of pharmaceutical care service which can be adopted in our country for patients with diabetes in the ambulatory care settings. With the successful implementation of this service, clinical, economic, and humanistic outcomes of patients will be improved. Therefore, by actively implementing pharmaceutical care service, pharmacist should contribute to the promotion of patients' health and to the advancement of health care delivery system.

  • The purposes of this study were to analyze the gap between foodservice personnel and inpatients, to urge foodservice providers to reconsider by identifying the problems in service delivery for customer satisfaction, and to deduce the priority for foodservice quality improvement. The results of this study can be summarized as follows : the average perception score of personnel (4.32 out of 5) was higher than that of customers (3.90). In particular, the customers' perceptions of 17 attributes, which included 'removal service of tray by foodservice personnel', 'nutrition and health-related information service', 'handling inpatient's complaint ASAP', 'delicious meals' and 'salty enough meals' and so on, was significantly lower than personnel's. Both service providers and customers perceived that 'personnel attitude' was the highest and 'meal quality' was the lowest among the 4 factors, but there was significant difference on 'meal quality'(p < .001), 'customer reception' (p < .001) and 'personnel attitude' (p < .05) between the two groups. As a results of quadrant analysis, 'removal service of tray by foodservice personnel', 'handling inpatient's complaints ASAP' and 'meal service according to doctor's orders were categorized into Quadrant A with meaning of high personnel's perceptions and low customers'. Therefore service providers have to perceive the gap between the two viewpoints and grant priority to these attributes in improving foodservice qualify. • In the outwardly changing environment of public security these days, police administration faces the nation's request for qualitative improvement of police service and the new request of police reformation for changing function of police in Korea. The nation wishes police to provide service fairly. The issue most seriously mentioned in the reliability of police service is very large gap in the recognition of service quality between supplier and consumer. To get the trust of nation in delivering police service, the police must have justness, consistency, punctuality of delivery, propriety and efficiency. However, the recognition of citizen, the consumer of police service is more important. How to correspond to the nation's request to police needs to be decided by evaluating the quality of present police service. It is necessary to be interested in what customer wants so as to evaluate the quality of police activity.

  • Delivery of a good quality of service in an efficient manner requires matching the supply of capacity with customer demand. Much research has employed queueing models that analyzed the service system on the basis of independent and stationary customer arrivals. However, the appointment system, which is widely used to facilitate customer access to service in many industries including healthcare, has significant influence on the customer arrival process so that the independent and stationary assumption does not hold in an appointment-based service system. In this regard, this paper aims to propose a model for accurate illustration of the appointment-based customer arrival process. The use of the proposed model allows us to evaluate the overall system performance such as mean waiting time and service level under various appointment policies instead of conducting simulation studies.
