INSTALLATION AND PERFORMANCE VERIFICATION OF VLBI CORRELATION SUBSYSTEM (VLBI 상관서브시스템의 현장설치 및 시험결과 고찰)

  • In this paper, we describe the installation of VLBI Correlation Subsystem (VCS) main product and its performance at the Korea-Japan Correlation Center (KJCC). The VCS main product was installed at KJCC in August 2009. For the overall performance evaluation of VCS, playbacks, Raw VLBI Data Buffer (RVDB) system, and Data Archive (DA) system were installed together. The VCS main product was connected between RVDB and DA, and the correlation results were put into the DA to confirm the normal operation of VCS 16 station mode configuration. The evaluation test was first performed with 4 station mode, same as the factory test of VCS main product. Based on the results of 4 station mode, the same evaluation test was conducted for 16 station mode of VCS. We found that the correlation results of VCS were almost similarly compared to those of the Mitaka FX Correlator. Through the test results, we confirmed that the problems such as spectrum errors, delay parameter processing module and field programmable gate array errors in antenna unit, which were generated at the factory test of VCS main product, were clearly solved. And we verified the performance and connectivity of VCS by obtaining the expected correlation results and we also confirmed that the performance of VCS was sufficient for real VLBI observation data in both 4 and 16 station modes.

  • A novel pneumatic artificial muscle actuator (PAM actuator), which has achieved increased popularity to provide the advantages such as high strength and high power/weight ratio, low cost, compactness, ease of maintenance, cleanliness, readily available and cheap power source, inherent safety and mobility assistance to humans performing tasks, has been regarded during the recent decades as an interesting alternative to hydraulic and electric actuators. However, some limitations still exist, such as the air compressibility and the lack of damping ability of the actuator bring the dynamic delay of the pressure response and cause the oscillatory motion. Then it is not easy to realize the performance of transient response of pneumatic artificial muscle manipulator (PAM manipulator) due to the changes in the external inertia load with high speed. In order to realize satisfactory control performance, a variable damper-Magneto­Rheological Brake (MRB), is equipped to the joint of the manipulator. Superb mixture of conventional PID controller and a phase plane switching control method brings us a novel controller. This proposed controller is appropriate for a kind of plants with nonlinearity, uncertainties and disturbances. The experiments were carried out in practical PAM manipulator and the effectiveness of the proposed control algorithm was demonstrated through experiments, which had proved that the stability of the manipulator can be improved greatly in a high gain control by using MRB with phase plane switching control method and without regard for the changes of external inertia loads.

  • Asphalt overlay method is a general method to extend the of life old concrete pavements. However, reflection cracks are the typical problem of the AC overlay on distressed concrete pavement. Joint sealing, stress absorbtion layer have been used to prevent reflection cracks however partial success of to delay the timing of reflection cracking was recognized. Reflection crack problem can be eliminated by using rubblization method, which crush concrete pavement slab into piece of aggregate size that can be used base material. Previous research on rubblization method indicated that the size of rubblized PCC ranged 40-70mm at upper layer, and more than 100mm at lower layer. In this study, the adequate depth of rubblized PCC that ran prevent reflection cracking of AC overlay is estimated base on the simulation test of reflection cracking with 0, 10, 20cm rubblized PCC base.

  • Industrial robots are powerful, extremely accurate multi-jointed systems, but they are heavy and highly rigid because of their mechanical structure and motorization. Therefore, sharing the robot working space with its environment is problematic. A novel pneumatic artificial muscle actuator (PAM actuator) has been regarded during the recent decades as an interesting alternative to hydraulic and electric actuators. Its main advantages are high strength and high power/weight ratio, low cost, compactness, ease of maintenance, cleanliness, readily available and cheap power source, inherent safety and mobility assistance to humans performing tasks. The PAM is undoubtedly the most promising artificial muscle for the actuation of new types of industrial robots such as Rubber Actuator and PAM manipulators. However, some limitations still exist, such as the air compressibility and the lack of damping ability of the actuator bring the dynamic delay of the pressure response and cause the oscillatory motion. In addition, the nonlinearities in the PAM manipulator still limit the controllability. Therefore, it is not easy to realize motion with high accuracy and high speed and with respect to various external inertia loads in order to realize a human-friendly therapy robot To overcome these problems a novel controller, which harmonizes a phase plane switching control method with conventional PID controller and the adaptabilities of neural network, is newly proposed. In order to realize satisfactory control performance a variable damper - Magneto-Rheological Brake (MRB) is equipped to the joint of the manipulator. Superb mixture of conventional PID controller and a phase plane switching control using neural network brings us a novel controller. This proposed controller is appropriate for a kind of plants with nonlinearity uncertainties and disturbances.   • In this research, I finally came to a conclusion analyzing the connection among managing of each items in management expenses, the size of each complex and stories, and the term of using. (1) In the managing cost regarding to the management manner, although the managing cost of self-governing management is less imposed than the one of commission management, there is slight difference between those Costs. And it is more important to consider the effectiveness of management than to emphasize reduction of management cost. (2) The higher the stories, the higher the managing cost of elevator per the unit area. It Is caused by the fact that the father the distance of the elevator operating, the higher the electric charges. (3) The third of one of total management cost goes to pay the personnel expenses. So I found that the effective management of the expenses is available to reduce management cost. (4) The higher the stones, the lower the cost of personnel expenses including the cleaner cost. (5) The sum of costs assigned in repairment and management increases in proportion to the term of using. The costs assigned in special repairment and management are interacting to each other. (6) To reduce the management cost, we have to cut down the personnel in security guard that occupies one third of total management cost with application to the joint security system and operation of the self-governing guard. Through this process, it will be easy to accomplish the rationalization of contract with an outside order. Because the improvement of management service is not only the responsibility of owner but also the one of dwellers. And it Is imperative to realize the importance of cooperation and trust between the owner and dwellers. And the establishment of effective managing system which has convenience and rationality must be settled without delay.

The Token Bucket Scheme to solve Buffer Overflow of Video Streaming in Wireless Network (무선 네트워크에서 비디오 스트리밍의 버퍼 오버플로우를 해결하기 위한 토큰버킷 기법)

  • In wireless network, the amount of video streaming packet information in receiver replay buffer can be varied according tothe wireless network condition. By the effect, unforeseeable delay and jitter are generated and then busty video traffics can be made. If the amount of buffer information coming in receiver replay buffer is larger than the amount of a specific buffer information, buffer overflow is generated. Such a problem makes the image skip effect and packet loss, and then causes the quality degradation and replay discontinuity of the video streaming service in destination receiver. To solve the buffer overflow problem, this paper applies the token bucket for the busty traffic to the receiver terminal and analyzes the effect of the token bucket. The simulation result using NS-2 and JSVM shows that the proposed scheme with the token bucket has significantly better performance than the conventional scheme without the token bucket in terms of overflow generation number, packet loss rate and PSNR.

  • Using the 3-D analysis, this study winpared and analyzed the 'fade-shot swing' which is one of the golf technique. The subjects of this study were 3 male pro golfers they experimented with only a 7 iron. The purpose was to enhance their performance by producing the important kinematical parameters, finding out the features in them and providing the data to a coach and players. As a result, the position of the club head showed from the outside orbit to the inside orbit. When position of the center of mass moved backwards, the probability of the failure of the fade-shot increased. Cocking angle had an effect on easing the wrist for a smooth follow-through after the impact. It showed that the changes in the shoulder movement was made first and followed by the waist. The hip joint angular velocity achieved a smooth fade-shot motion due to the hitting delay also the velocity of the club-head was faster when uncocking was released at the time of impact.

  • Safe security technology is required for the startup ecosystem according to the construction and service of a joint open platform in the financial sector. Financial industry standard open API recommends that payment-related fintech companies develop/apply additional security technologies to protect core API authentication keys in the mutual authentication process. This study proposes an enhanced API security protocol using multiple channels. It was designed in consideration of the compatibility of heterogeneous platforms by further analyzing the problems and weaknesses of existing open API related research. I applied the method of concealment to remove the additional security channels into a single channel of the existing security protocols. As a result of the performance analysis, the two-way safety of the communication session of the multi-channel and the security of the man-in-the-middle attack of the enhanced authentication key were confirmed, and the computational performance of the delay time (less than 1 second) in the multi-session was confirmed.

  • Squamous cell carcinoma is a neglected disease entity in orthopedic oncology. The purpose of this study was to analyze overall survival and the role of surgery on survival and to evaluate the significance of possible prognostic factors. From Oct, 1986 to Aug, 1996, 57 patients were enlisted and 42 patients ere eligible. Inclusion criteria included more than one year follow-up and no distant metastasis at the first visit. Staging and survival followed AJC classification and Kaplan-Meier plot. Stage II included 17 cases and stage III, 25 cases. Thirty-eight patients underwent operations, chemotherapy, and/or radiotherapy, and the remaining four had operations only. The chemotherapeutic regimen was adriamycin-cisplatin. The average follow-up period was 45 months. The ten-year actuarial survival rate of whole patients was 65.4%. Location of primary lesion, stage, pathologic grading, and intensity of chemotherapy in the same stage showed a significant difference in survival. Nine out of 42 patients had local recurrence. Seven patients had inadequate wide margins and two had intralesional margins. Average period of recurrence from operation was 13(4-35)months. The operation itself had no impact on survival but a surgical margin of no less than 3cm from the lesion was important for local control. Pathological grade and staging were significant variables for long term survival. Acral lesion had a significantly higher chance of regional and distant metastasis but actual survival showed no difference. In stage II, aggressive chemotherapy could delay or reduce the chance of regional or distant metastasis.

  • Avulsion of the hamstring tendon from the ischial tuberosity is common in many sports, especially with younger athletes. The injury results from a sudden forceful flexion of the hip joint when the knee is extended and the hamstring muscles powerfully contracted. Early diagnosis and surgical repair with reattachment of avulsed muscles to the ischial tuberosity restore function and correct deformity. But, a delay in the diagnosis and treatment leads to a poor result functionally and clinically. Complication, such as heterotopic ossification and failure of the fixation, etc., were reported following a surgical procedure for this injury. However, sciatic nerve injury has not been reported in the literature. We report our experience of a sciatic nerve palsy after surgery that was performed three months after that the initial injury.
