THE EFFECT OF MASKED SIGNAL ON THE PERFORMANCE OF GNSS CODE TRACKING SYSTEM

  • The main purpose of this paper is to describe the code tracking performance of a non-coherent digital delay lock loop (DLL) or coherent DLL while tracking GNSS signal in the presence of signal masking. The masking effect is usually caused by buildings that obscure the signal in either a periodic or random manner. In some cases, ideal masking is used to remove random or periodic interference. Three types of the masked signal are considered - no masking, periodic masking, and random masking of the signal input to the receiver. The mean time to lose lock (MTLL) of the code tracking loop are evaluated, and some numerical result and simulation results are reported. Finally, the steadystate tracking errors on the performance of the tracking loop in interference environment are also presented.

Bolus tracking 기법을 이용한 복부 CT 검사 시 조영제 도달시간에 따른 환자 피폭선량 감소에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Reduction of Patient's Exposure Dose according to the Arrival Time of Contrast Media in Abdominal CT Scan using Bolus Tracking Technique)

  • 본 연구는 bolus tracking 기법을 이용한 복부 CT 검사 시 환자 피폭선량에 영향을 미치는 인자를 알아보고 인자를 통해 지연시간을 조절하여 추후 bolus tracking 기법을 이용한 복부 CT 검사 시 환자의 방사선 피폭선량을 감소시키는 목적이 있다. 실험은 두 가지로 나누어 실시하였고, 첫 번째 실험은 환자 300명을 대상으로 하였고 남자 188명, 여자 112명, 평균나이는 58±12.18세(19~85세)이었다. 대상자의 신장, 체중, 체질량지수, 수축기혈압, 이완기혈압, 심박동수에 따른 조영제 도달시간(Arrival time)을 측정하였고, 영향 인자 그룹별 도달시간의 평균값을 기준으로 영향 인자에 따른 지연시간을 정하여 두 번째 실험에 적용하였다. 두 번째 실험은 첫 번째 실험 대상자 중 추적검사를 시행하는 150명(남자 100명, 여자 50명)을 대상으로하였고, 영향 인자에 따른 지연시간을 적용하여 적용 전·후 선량을 비교하였다. 첫 번째 실험 결과 조영제 도달시간과 심박동수가 관계가 있었고, 두 번째 실험 결과 심박동수에 따른 지연시간 적용 전·후 CTDIvol와 DLP 의 평균선량은 남자 4.98 mGy, 5.33 mGy·cm 감소하였고, 여자 3.53 mGy, 3.88 mGy·cm 감소하였다. 따라서 bolus tracking 기법을 이용한 복부 CT 검사 시 환자의 심박동수에 따른 지연시간 적용으로 방사선 피폭선량을 감소시킬 수 있다.

A model-based adaptive control method for real-time hybrid simulation

  • Real-time hybrid simulation (RTHS), which has the advantages of a substructure pseudo-dynamic test, is widely used to investigate the rate-dependent mechanical response of structures under earthquake excitation. However, time delay in RTHS can cause inaccurate results and experimental instabilities. Thus, this study proposes a model-based adaptive control strategy using a Kalman filter (KF) to minimize the time delay and improve RTHS stability and accuracy. In this method, the adaptive control strategy consists of three parts-a feedforward controller based on the discrete inverse model of a servohydraulic actuator and physical specimen, a parameter estimator using the KF, and a feedback controller. The KF with the feedforward controller can significantly reduce the variable time delay due to its fast convergence and high sensitivity to the error between the desired displacement and the measured one. The feedback control can remedy the residual time delay and minimize the method's dependence on the inverse model, thereby improving the robustness of the proposed control method. The tracking performance and parametric studies are conducted using the benchmark problem in RTHS. The results reveal that better tracking performance can be obtained, and the KF's initial settings have limited influence on the proposed strategy. Virtual RTHSs are conducted with linear and nonlinear physical substructures, respectively, and the results indicate brilliant tracking performance and superb robustness of the proposed method.

무인항공기 자동착륙을 위한 활강궤적 추종 알고리듬 성능분석 (A Performance Analysis of a Glidepath Tracking Algorithm for Autolanding of a UAV)

  • Automatic landing of UAVs receives increasing interest these days, with increasing number of the developed UAV systems. In this paper, a glidepath tracking algorithm of the subscale UAV was proposed and the performance was analyzed. Flight data analysis shows that the existing autolanding flight control algorithm has a classical type glidepath control. This paper presents an alternative glidepath tracking strategy based on embedded flight control law. The performance of the proposed strategy was investigated through the TDP(Touch Down Point) error analysis with regard to various flight environment: steady headwind, atmospheric disturbance, communication transfer delay. It was verified that the proposed glidepath tracking strategy can be successfully applied to the practical autolanding of UAV systems.

  • 본 논문에서는 전자광학 추적 시스템의 영상추적부가 가지는 시간지연 특성을 보상하여 추적 성능을 향상할 수 있는 방법을 제시하였다. 제안된 방법은 Smith 예측기와 칼만 필터를 사용하여 시선의 시간지연 현상 및 표적의 기동정보 지연에 대한 보상을 가능하게하여 기존의 PI 또는 Smith 예측기만의 제어루프를 사용한 경우보다 추적 오차를 매우 줄일 수 있다. 제안된 방법의 타당성 확인을 위하여 실제 EOTS에 적용하여 다양한 모의실험 및 실험을 실시하여 그 성능 향상을 확인하였다.

  • 차량간 무선 통신을 목적으로 만들어진 OFDM(OFDM : Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing)기반의 WAVE(Wireless Access for the Vehicular Environment) 시스템은 초기 동기 이후 다중경로 페이딩(Multipath Fading) 채널의 영향으로 인하여 연속적인 시간지연이 발생함에 따라 시스템 성능이 감소하게 된다. 본 논문은 추가적인 심볼 시간지연을 보상해 주기 위한 심볼 시간동기 추적(Tracking)알고리듬을 제안하고 있다. 제안된 알고리듬을 최대 지연 시간(Maximum timing delay)이 적용된 최악의 통신환경에 적용하여 모의실험을 수행하였다. 실험 결과, 제안된 알고리듬이 AWGN 채널 및 페이딩(fading)채널 환경에서 시스템의 성능을 향상시킬 수 있음을 확인하였다.

  • Multi-mode monopulse system is widely used for satellite terminal like UAV because of high tracking accuracy and low size/weight profile. In order to calculate tracking error, Multi-mode monopulse system utilizes high-order mode signal, and it should have enough C/N(carrier to noise) level therefore tracking system needs narrow band filtering of received satellite beacon signal as much as possible. However, UAV suffers for beacon frequency drift derived from Doppler effect due to satellite figure 8 movement and UAV maneuvering. Therefore wideband signal processing needs to be considered in advance for exact doppler compensation and consequent time delay. In this paper, we propose the multi-stage Digital Signal processing system for beacon signal, which could minimize the signal delay under high Doppler and low C/N condition.

포화 구동기를 갖는 시간지연 선형시스템의 $H_{\infty}$ 추종 제어기 ([ $H_{\infty}$ ] Tracking Control of Time-delayed Linear Systems with Saturating Actuators)

  • In this paper, we considered the $H_{\infty}$ tracking control for time-delayed linear systems with saturating actuators. The considered time delay is a time varying one having bounded magnitude and rate, and the considered tracking reference is a general one only known its bounds of magnitude and rate. First, we have converted the $H_{\infty}$ tracking control problem into an equivalent $H_{\infty}$ disturbance attenuation problem using two steps of transformations. Next, based on a new Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional, we have derived the result in the form of LMI with two non-convex parameters. Finally, by numerical examples, we have shown the usefulness and effectiveness of our result.

Improved Delay-Locked Loop in a UWB Impulse Radio Time-Hopping Spread-Spectrum System

  • As ultra-wideband impulse radio (UWB-IR) uses short-duration impulse signals of nanoseconds, even a small number of timing errors can cause a detrimental effect on system performance. A delay-locked loop (DLL) is proposed to synchronize and reduce timing errors. The design of the DLL is vital for UWB systems. In this paper, an improved DLL is introduced to a UWB-IR time-hopping spread-spectrum system. Instead of using only two central correlator branches as in a conventional DLL, the proposed system uses two additional correlator branches with different delay parameters and different weight parameters. The performance of the proposed schemes with the optimal parameters is compared with that of traditional schemes through simulation: the proposed four-branch DLLs achieves less tracking jitter or a longer mean time to lose lock (MTLL) than the conventional two-branch DLLs if proper parameters are chosen.

  • When the teleoperated system has a signal transmission time delay between slave and control system , the system stability as well as the position tracking and the force reflecting performances are likely to be deteriorated.
