  • The user experience of practical indoor power line communication (PLC) applications is greatly affected by the system quality-of-service (QoS) criteria. With a general broadcast-and-multi-access (BMA) relay scheme, in this work we investigate the joint source and relay power optimization of the amplify-and-forward (AF) relay systems used under indoor broad-band PLC environments. To achieve both time diversity and spatial diversity from the relay-involved PLC channel, which is time-varying in nature, the source node has been configured to transmit an identical message twice in the first and second signalling phase, respectively. The QoS constrained power allocation problem is not convex, which makes the global optimal solution is computationally intractable. To solve this problem, an alternating optimization (AO) method has been adopted and decomposes this problem into three convex/quasi-convex sub-problems. Simulation results show the fast convergence and short delay of the proposed algorithm under realistic relay-involved PLC channels. Compared with the two-hop and broadcast-and-forward (BF) relay systems, the proposed general relay system meets the same QoS requirement with less network power assumption.

  • In this paper, a dynamic priority-based QoS (DPQoS) provision scheme is proposed for the required QoS from one end of the network to the other in wireless mobile networks. The DPQoS model is used to meet diversity multimedia traffic requirements. This model is come up with a framework for the wireless network of which consists of a core-IP network and also a number of wireless access networks. For the true end-to-end QoS, it is required that the core network is able to support the required QoS for the wireless users. This paper shows a solution to optimize the performance for different traffic classes according to the traffic characteristics. The performance of the proposed scheme is evaluated at delay aspects such as delay and throughput.

  • Blind equalization of transmission channel is important in communication areas and signal processing applications because it does not need training sequence, nor does it require a priori channel information. Recently, Tong et al. proposed solutions for this problem exploit the diversity induced by antenna array or time oversampling, leading to the second order statistics techniques, fur example, subspace method, prediction error method, and so on. The linear prediction error method is perhaps the most attractive in practice due to the insensitive to blind equalizer length mismatch as well as for its simple adaptive filter implementation. Unfortunately, the previous one-step prediction error method is known to be limited in arbitrary delay. In this paper, we induce the optimal delay, and propose the adaptive blind equalizer with multi-step linear prediction using RLS-type algorithm. Simulation results are presented to demonstrate the proposed algorithm and to compare it with existing algorithms.

  • In this paper, we study a novel routing algorithm based on load balancing for multi-channel wireless mesh networks. In order to increase the network capacity and reduce the interference of transmission streams and the communication delay, on the basis of weighted cumulative expected transmission time (WCETT) routing metric this paper proposes an improved routing metric based on load balancing and channel interference (LBI_WCETT), which considers the channel interference, channel diversity, link load and the latency brought by channel switching. Meanwhile, in order to utilize the multi-channel strategy efficiently in wireless mesh networks, a new channel allocation algorithm is proposed. This channel allocation algorithm utilizes the conflict graph model and considers the initial link load estimation and the potential interference of the link to assign a channel for each link in the wireless mesh network. It also utilizes the channel utilization percentage of the virtual link in its interference range as the channel selection standard. Simulation results show that the LBI_WCETT routing metric can help increase the network capacity effectively, reduce the average end to end delay, and improve the network performance.

  • In this paper, we analyze the performance of the cooperative cognitive radio relay system which is adapted the recently highly focused cognitive radio system. The performance comparison is made between the system with and that without the opportunistic transmission relay. Especially the selection combining is considered at the destination for simple implementation. In this case, the effect of the channel state information (CSI) delay, which is caused essentially by the process during the CSI delivery, to the system performance is considered. It is noticed that the performance of the system with the opportunistic relay degrades up to 0.6 dB at a given condition compared to the system without the opportunistic relay. And it is shown that the system performance is more sensitive to the CSI delay compared to the frequency acquisition probability of the cognitive radio relay.

  • In this paper, we propose a Flow Based Waiting Time Priority (FB-WTP) scheduler that supports the proportional delay differentiated services between classes. Existing scheduling algorithms utilize the configuration of scheduler, which is operated as class unit, applied to wired network. However, FB-WTP scheduler is operated as flow unit and can take advantage of multi-flow diversity effect in time-varying channel state environment. As a result, FB-WTP improves the average queueing delay on each class as well as supporting the average queueing delay ratio between classes. It also solves the HOL packet blocking problem implicitly. Simulation results show that FB-WTP scheduler has better system queueing delay performance than Look-ahead Waiting Time Priority (LWTP) scheduler and supports the larger queueing delay ratio between classes that network operator set.

  • If signal time duration of MC-CDMA method which has studied for next-generation high-speed data transmission is not sufficiently large compared to delay spread of channel, the performance is degraded by generation of intersymbol interference. In this paper, this problem will solve through serial to parallel convertor and make large sufficiently time duration of signal compared to delay spread of channel and rise variable spectral efficiency through the number of serial to parallel convertor subchannel we will add to parallel frequency diversity block for improve the performance in mobile Communication. Spectral efficiency of the proposed system is counted and compared to spectral efficiency of MC-CDMA and investigated through computer simulations by using multipath Rayleigh fading channel.

  • The signal space diversity is one of the promising transmission techniques in next generation mobile TV service. However, DVB-T2 does not consider the multiple antennas (MIMO) so that the cyclic Q-delay method, a component interleaver in DVB-T2, causes a critical issue in detecting symbols at the receiver side by increasing the inter-symbol dependency. To solve this problem, the component-swapping technique is proposed, which limits the inter-symbol dependency in order to reduce detection complexity. In this paper, the achievable gain of a component-swapping technique combined with 16K LDPC code defined in DVB-T2 is evaluated by computer simulations. From the results, the gain is confirmed in terms of BER and receive complexity compared to legacy component interleaver methods.

  • In this paper, a fast diagonal-weighted Jacket matrices (DWJMs) is proposed to have the orthogonal architecture. We develop the successive DWJM to reduce the computational load while factorizing the large-order DWJMs into the low-order sparse matrices with the fast algorithms. The proposed DWJM is then applied to the precoding multiple-input and multiple output (MIMO) wireless communications because of its diagonal-weighted framework with element-wise inverse characteristics. Based on the properties of the DWJM, the DWJM can be used as alternative open loop cyclic delay diversity (CDD) precoding, which has recently become part of the cellular communications systems. Performance of the DWJM-based precoding system is verified for orthogonal space-time block code (OSTBC) MIMO LTE systems.

  • Recently, the multi-band orthogonal frequency division multiplexing(MB-OFDM) system, one of UWB system, can satisfy the requirement and can be applied to various wireless communication services because ultra-wideband(UWB) is a wireless communication technique that supports high data rate with low power. In this paper, the method applying Alamouti's space time block code(STBC) and cyclic delay diversity(CDD) is proposed. The proposed method can be easily applied with arbitrary number of relays and only needs two time slots of quasi stationary assumption. And it is applied to the MB-OFDM system. Second, an optimal relaying scheme based on decode-and-forward(DF) method is proposed which is provides good error performance compared to conventional schemes.
