연결지향형 패킷교환 처리기의 스케줄링 성능평가 및 시험 방안 연구 (Scheduling Performance Evaluation and Testing Functions of a Connection-Oriented Packet Switching Processor)

  • In a connection-oriented packet switching network, the data communication starts after a virtual circuit is established between source and destination. The virtual circuit establishment time includes the queue waiting times in the direction from source to destination and the other way around. We use this two-way queueing delay to evaluate scheduling policies of a packet switching processor through simulation studies. In this letter, we also suggest user testing functions for the packet switching processor to manage virtual circuits. By detecting error causes, the user testing helps the packet switching processor provide reliable connection-oriented services.

  • This study analyzes the turn-on and turn-off transients of a metal-oxide-semiconductor field-effect transistor (MOSFET) with high-switching frequency systems. In these systems, the voltage distortion becomes serious at the output terminal of a Vienna rectifier by the turn-off delay of the MOSFET. The current has low-order harmonics through this voltage distortion. This paper describes the transient of the turn-off that causes the voltage distortion. The algorithm for reducing the sixth harmonic using a proportional-resonance controller is proposed to improve the current distortion without complex calculation for compensation. The reduction of the current distortion by high-switching frequency is verified by experiment with the 2.5-kW prototype Vienna rectifier.

  • This paper describes a distance relay that operates in conjunction with a current transformer (CT) compensation algorithm. A distance relay detects a fault based on the ratio of the voltage to the current. If a CT saturates, the calculated impedance becomes larger. This causes maloperation or operating time delay of the distance relay. A compensating algorithm estimates the correct secondary current from the severely distorted currents even when the measurement CTs are used. The correct current is estimated by adding the calculated magnetizing current to the measured secondary current. Test results show that the proposed distance relay can detect a fault without the operating time delay even when the secondary currents are extremely distorted because of use of measurement CTs.

Performance Evaluation of Ionosphere Modeling Using Spherical Harmonics in the Korean Peninsula

  • The signal broadcast from a GPS satellite experiences code delay and carrier phase advance while passing through the ionosphere, which causes a signal error. Many ionosphere models have been studied to correct this ionospheric delay error. In this paper, the ionosphere modeling for the Korean Peninsula was carried out using a spherical harmonics based model. In contrast to the previous studies, we considered a real-time ionospheric delay correction model using fewer number of basis functions. The modeling performance was evaluated by comparing with a grid model. Total number of basis functions was set to be identical to the number of grid points in the grid model. The performance test was conducted using the GPS measurements collected from 5 reference stations during 24 hours. In the test result, the modeling residual error was smaller than that of the existing grid model. However, when the number of measurements was small and the measurements were not evenly distributed, the overall trend was found to be problematic. For improving this problem, we implemented the modeling with additional virtual measurements.

비동기 MC-CDMA 상향 링크 시스템에서의 시간 옵셋 영향 분석 (Effect Analysis of Timing Offsets for Asynchronous MC-CDMA Uplink Systems)

  • 본 논문에서는 Cyclic prefix 형태의 보호구간을 갖는 비동기 MC-CDMA 상향 링크 시스템의 시간 옵셋의 영향을 주파수 선택적 다경로 페이딩 채널에 대하여 분석하였다. 분석을 위하여 시간 옵셋을 보호구간 및 최대 접속 지연 시간 (maximum access delay time)과 관련하여 모델링하였다. 수식적 분석을 통하여 시간 옵셋이 원하는 신호성분의 전력 누수와 자기 간섭성분을 발생시키는 것을 확인하였다. 이러한 시간 옵셋이 유효 SNR 및 평균 오류율에 미치는 영향을 분석하였다. 근사화를 통하여 평균 오류율 및 SNR 감쇄를 닫혀진 형태로 유도하였다. 분석결과의 정확성은 모의실험 결과와의 비교를 통해 다양한 시간 옵셋 및 SNR에 대해 검증하였다.

전기식 도어시스템의 고장건수 및 지연시간을 활용한 열차운행장애 분석 (Analysis of Train Operation Obstacle Using Number of Failures and Delay Time of Electric Door System)

  • This paper analyzes functions of component parts of D-Urban Railway's door system along with operation obstacle risks on frequency(the number of occurrences/year) and severity(delay time/the number of occurrences). Based on this, the paper presents improvements and current system's problems after obstacle risks of EMU and door system are appled. The obstacle of door system causes corrosion of main parts such as DCU due to heat problem of operation environment, problems of maintenance methods and deterioration. DCUs on PCBs with more than 50% pattern corrosion cause problems. Even though the number of door system's obstacle occurrences for the last 5 years is 42, along with 104 minutes of operation obstacle, EMU operation obstacle risk is low(Level 1), which indicates there is limit in matrix of railway risks presented by the standard of railway safety management system. Therefore, it is necessary to have railway risk matrix suitable for the field. Finally, the paper deducts the obstacle risks through frequency and severity. Since 2017 when the risks of EMU and door system's obstacle, that of EMU has been 24(47% reduced) and that of door system has been average 9.5 per year(23% reduced).

도심 교차로에서 효율적 경로 관리를 위한 자동차 통신용 라우팅 알고리즘 (Routing Algorithm of VANET for an Efficient Path Management in Urban Intersections)

  • 본 논문에서는 도심 교차로에서 경로 이탈 확률을 낮추어 줄 수 있는 차량 통신용 라우팅 알고리즘을 제안한다. 차량이 밀집된 도심의 교차로 지역에서는 차량들의 방향 전환으로 잦은 네트워크 단절과 패킷 전송지연 문제를 발생 시킬 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 문제점을 개선하기 위해 전송 노드 선정 과정에서 같은 진행방향의 노드를 이웃 노드로 선정하여 교차로에서 네트워크 단절의 비율을 낮출 수 있는 VANET (Vehicular Ad-hoc Network)용 라우팅 알고리즘을 제안한다. 시뮬레이션을 통한 성능분석 결과는 제안하는 알고리즘이 기존 라우팅 알고리즘에 비해 도심 교차로에서 경로 이탈 확률을 약 10% 감소시키며 네트워크 단절 비율을 5% 감소시킴을 보인다.

시간지연제어기법을 이용한 로봇의 혼합(위치/힘) 제어에 관한 연구 (A Study on Hybrid(Position/Force) Control of Robot Using Time Delay Control)

  • Robot position/force control has been a difficult task owing to the interaction between a robot and an environment with a rather high stiffness. In addition to the dynamic instability, the interaction causes the following problem : 1) chattering at steady-state, 2) dynamic coupling effect of robot, and 3) performance degradation due to a titled environment. To solve the problem, the Time Delay Control(TDC), which has been known to be quiet robust to plant uncertainties and disturbances, has been applied. In conjunction to TDC, the following three ideas were also used : 1) To reduce the amplitude of the chattering at the steady state, a novel scheme was adopted to enhance the resolution type solution of A/D conversion for the force sensor. 2) To reduce the dynamic coupling, a trajectory type position command was tried on a comparative basis to the step command, as well as a more accurate mass matrix was used instead of the constant mass matrix. 3) And finally to improve the performance in the tilted environment, force derivatives instead of position derivatives were used in the TDC law. Computer simulations and experiments resulted in obvious improvements on the quality of the hybrid control, thereby clearly demonstrating the effectiveness of TDC with the proposed ideas.

CoA 설정 시간 단축을 통한 빠른 핸드오버 제공 메카니즘 (Fast Handover Provision Mechanism through Reduction of CoA Configuration Time)

  • 최근 이동 통신 기술의 발달과 이동 단말의 보급률이 증가하면서, 사용자들은 휴대 및 이동 시에 빠르고 끊김없는 서비스를 요구하게 되었다. 이러한 요구 사항을 충족시키기 위해 IETF에서는 FMIPv6(Fast Handoff for Mobile IPv6)를 제안하였다. FMIPv6의 핸드오버 과정은 크게 이동 감지, 새로운 CoA 설정, 바인딩 갱신 과정으로 나뉜다. 하지만, 각각의 과정에서 지연이 생기고, CoA 설정 과정의 DAD(Duplicate Address Detection) 실행 시 큰 지연이 생긴다. 본 논문에서는 DAD 절차를 생략하고 AR(Access Router)에 이동 단말의 CoA에 관련된 정보를 저장하여 핸드오버 시 지연을 줄이는 방안을 제안한다.

A Congestion Control Mechanism for Supporting Differentiated Service in Mobile Ad hoc Networks

  • Differentiated services (DiffServ) has been widely accepted as the service model to adopt for providing quality-of­service (QoS) over the next-generation IP networks. There is a growing need to support QoS in mobile ad hoc networks. Supporting DiffServ in mobile ad hoc networks, however, is very difficult because of the dynamic nature of mobile ad hoc networks, which causes network congestion. The network congestion induces long transfer packet delay and low throughput which make it very difficult to support QoS in mobile ad hoc networks. We propose DiffServ module to support differentiated service in mobile ad hoc networks through congestion control. Our DiffServ module uses the periodical rate control for real time traffic and also uses the best effort bandwidth concession when network congestion occurs. Network congestion is detected by measuring the packet transfer delay or bandwidth threshold of real time traffic. We evaluate our mechanism via a simulation study. Simulation results show our mechanism may offer a low and stable delay and a stable throughput for real time traffic in mobile ad hoc networks.
