  • North Korea launched an ICBM and declared Moratorium for the September 19 military talks. The Armed Forces must protect military security for national defense and security. The Ministry of National Defense, which received a hacking attack from North Korea, must protect its military security even more. Recently, the leakage of military data through smartphones is occurring through smartphones. Officers and non-commissioned officers can use smartphones while working. Therefore, smartphone forensics is required to check information leakage of military data from smartphones. In this study, forensic leaks of military data from the Galaxy S20 model of S company. • With the rapid evolution of the Internet, the application of artificial intelligence fields is more and more extensive, and the era of AI has come. At the same time, adversarial attacks in the AI field are also frequent. Therefore, the research into adversarial attack security is extremely urgent. An increasing number of researchers are working in this field. We provide a comprehensive review of the theories and methods that enable researchers to enter the field of adversarial attack. This article is according to the "Why? → What? → How?" research line for elaboration. Firstly, we explain the significance of adversarial attack. Then, we introduce the concepts, types, and hazards of adversarial attack. Finally, we review the typical attack algorithms and defense techniques in each application area. Facing the increasingly complex neural network model, this paper focuses on the fields of image, text, and malicious code and focuses on the adversarial attack classifications and methods of these three data types, so that researchers can quickly find their own type of study. At the end of this review, we also raised some discussions and open issues and compared them with other similar reviews.

  • In this study, a collimator composed of multi-dielectric structures is designed using the phase field design method, a kind of topology optimization methods. It is also purposed to improve the mechanical-structural performance of a collimator by replacing previously used air regions with another dielectric material. Polypropylene and paraffin are selected as the dielectric materials for the design process taking manufacturability into account. The design objective is formulated by integrating the intensity of the electromagnetic field in the pre-determined target area to realize the collimating performance. The model for accurate numerical analysis was derived from the final result obtained from the design process through the simple cut-off method and it shows the improved performance of 105% compared with the free space wave propagation. For the designed model, the possibility of reverse transformation, the mechanical durability evaluation under the compression load, and the electromagnetic performance in the X-band range were also evaluated.

  • Conventional Convolutional Neural Network(CNN) algorithms have limitations in detecting small objects in large image. In this paper, we propose an improved model which is based on Region Of Interest(ROI) selection and image dividing technique. We prepared YOLOv3 / Faster R-CNN algorithms which are transfer-learned by airfield and aircraft datasets. Also we prepared large images for testing. In order to verify our model, we selected airfield area from large image as ROI first and divided it in two power n orders. Then we compared the aircraft detection rates by number of divisions. We could get the best size of divided image pieces for efficient small object detection derived from the comparison of aircraft detection rates. As a result, we could verify that the improved CNN algorithm can detect small object in large images.

  • The Radar altimeter transmits radio signals to the surface, receives the backscattered signals and measures the distance between the airplane and the nadir surface. The measurements of radar altimeter are affected by various factors on the surface below the aircraft. This study performed flight campaigns in June 2012 and acquired raw data from radar altimeter, LiDAR and other sensors. Based on the LiDAR DSM (Digital Surface Model) as a reference data, the characteristics of radar altimeter were analyzed in the respect of range and surface area affecting on the receiving power of the radar altimeter. Consequently, the radar altimeter was strongly affected by the surface area within beam width and reflectivity related to RCS (Radar Cross Section) rather than range.

  • Due to test facility and specialty, it is physically difficult to conduct the modal tests of large-sized structures such as truck, bus and airplane. So, in case of a large-sized truck, the mode analysis on a full vehicle model comprised of reliable cabin, frame, and deck has been generally performed. However, the reliability of overall vibrational characteristics of the analytic model has not been fairly guaranteed by the testified models of each subsystem owing to the existence of cab suspension and the nonlinear mounting between a chassis frame and a special deck system. In this paper, a method to find out the modal characteristics of a large-sized military truck is presented. New modal test equipment is developed to set the boundary conditions of three military truck variants as close as a free-free condition. And the mode analysis method using coupled structure and dynamic models is established to consider the above-mentioned dynamic non-linearities of the vehicle itself. The usefulness of the suggested method is verified by comparing with the modal test results. Finally, the modal parameters of the final variant are extracted using the proved analytic method.

  • There are technological, operational and environmental constraints at tactical edge, which are disconnected operation, intermittent connectivity, and limited bandwidth (DIL), size, weight and power (SWaP) limitations, ad-hoc and mobile network, and so on. To overcome these limitations and constraints, we use service-oriented architecture (SOA) based technologies. Moreover, the operation environment is highly dynamic: requirements change in response to the emerging situation, and the availability of resources needs to be updated constantly due to the factors such as technical failures. In order to use appropriate resources at the right time according to the mission, it needs to find the best resources. In this context, we identify ontology-based mission service model including mission, task, service, and resource, and develop capability-based matching in tactical edge environment. The goal of this paper is to propose a capability-based semantic matching for dynamic resource allocation. The contributions of this paper are i) military domain ontologies ii) semantic matching using ontology relationship; and (iii) the capability-based matching for the mission service model.

  • In this paper, we have proposed gigabit serial transceiver based on backplane architecture at the satellite communication digital transponder. The transponder supports the full combinational switching function with broadband multi-channel using programmable device - Xilinx space-grade Virtex-5 FPGA. In order to implement the switching function, GTX transceiver solution inside Virtex-5 FPGA is used. Also hardware implementation is simple because of no additional component. In order to use a GTX transceiver, signal integrity(SI) simulation of PCB design is essential. We investigate the characteristics of the S-parameter, eye diagram, channel jitter of GTX transmission line and conform that GTX Transceiver operates without error. Finally the proposed PCB design will be utilized at satellite communication digital transponder EQM-2(Engineering Qualification Model-2).

  • In this study, an analysis of the thermo-fluid dynamic and missile-motion performance was carried out through a numerical simulation inside the missile canister. Calculation was made in an analytical volume using dynamic grid and evaporated water was used as a coolant. To analyze the interaction among the hot gas, coolant, and mixture flow, Realizable $k-{\varepsilon}$ turbulence and VOF (Volume Of Fluid) model were chosen and a parametric study was performed with the change of coolant flow rate. As a result of the analysis, pressure of the canister showed a large difference depending on the presence or absence of the coolant, and also showed a dependancy on the amount of coolant. Velocity and acceleration were dependent on the canister pressure.

  • In order to predict acoustic pressure distributions by exterior incident wave at Cylindrical Hydrophone Array (CHA) sensor's positions, acoustic pressure analysis is performed by using beam tracing method. Beam tracing method is well-known of reliable pressure analysis methods at high-frequency range. When an acoustic noise source is located at the center of rectangular room, acoustic pressure analysis is performed by using both beam tracing method and Power Flow Boundary Element Method (PFBEM). By comparing with results of beam tracing method and those of PFBEM, the accuracy of beam tracing method is verified. We develop the CHA pressure analysis program by verified beam tracing method. The developed software is composed of model input, sensor array creator, analysis option, solver and post-processor. We can choose a model option of 2D or 3D. The sensor array generator is connected to a sonar which is composed of center position, bottom, top and angle between sensors. We also can choose an analysis option such as analysis frequency, beam number, reflect number, etc. The solver module calculates the ray paths, acoustic pressure and result of generating beams. We apply the program to 2D and 3D CHA models, and their results are reliable.
