Recently Deep-learning, Technologies using Large or Deep Artificial Neural Networks, have Shown Remarkable Performance, and the Increasing Size of the Network Contributes to its Performance Improvement. However, the Increase in the Size of the Neural Network Leads to an Increase in the Calculation Amount, which Causes Problems Such as Circuit Complexity, Price, Heat Generation, and Real-time Restriction. In This Paper, We Propose and Test a Method to Reduce the Number of Network Connections by Effectively Pruning the Redundancy in the Connection and Showing the Difference between the Performance and the Desired Range of the Original Neural Network. In Particular, we Proposed a Simple Method to Improve the Performance by Re-learning and to Guarantee the Desired Performance by Allocating the Error Rate per Layer in Order to Consider the Difference of each Layer. Experiments have been Performed on a Typical Neural Network Structure such as FCN (full connection network) and CNN (convolution neural network) Structure and Confirmed that the Performance Similar to that of the Original Neural Network can be Obtained by Only about 1/10 Connection.

The purpose of this study is to predict more accurate construction costs and to support efficient decision making in the planning and design stages of smart education facilities. The higher the error in the projected cost, the more risk a project manager takes. If the manager can predict a more accurate construction cost in the early stages of a project, he/she can secure a decision period and support a more rational decision. During the planning and design stages, there is a limited amount of variables that can be selected for the estimating model. Moreover, since the number of completed smart schools is limited, there is little data. In this study, various artificial intelligence models were used to accurately predict the construction cost in the planning and design phase with limited variables and lack of performance data. A theoretical study on an artificial neural network and deep learning was carried out. As the artificial neural network has frequent problems of overfitting, it is found that there is a problem in practical application. In order to overcome the problem, this study suggests that the improved models of Deep Neural Network and Deep Belief Network are more effective in making accurate predictions. Deep Neural Network (DNN) and Deep Belief Network (DBN) models were constructed for the prediction of construction cost. Average Error Rate and Root Mean Square Error (RMSE) were calculated to compare the error and accuracy of those models. This study proposes a cost prediction model that can be used practically in the planning and design stages.
In this paper, we propose a method to accelerate convolutional neural network by utilizing a GPGPU. Convolutional neural network is a sort of the neural network learning features of images. Convolutional neural network is suitable for the image processing required to learn a lot of data such as images. The convolutional layer of the conventional CNN required a large number of multiplications and it is difficult to operate in the real-time on the embedded environment. In this paper, we reduce the number of multiplications through Winograd convolution operation and perform parallel processing of the convolution by utilizing SIMT-based GPGPU. The experiment was conducted using ModelSim and TestDrive, and the experimental results showed that the processing time was improved by about 17%, compared to the conventional convolution.
In this paper, a case of deep learning artificial neural network education was studied for artificial intelligence literacy education for preservice teachers and incumbent teachers. In addition, through the proposed educational case, we tried to explore the contents of artificial neural network principle education that elementary, middle and high school students can experience. To this end, first, an example of training on the principle of operation of an artificial neural network that recognizes two types of images is presented. And as an artificial neural network extension application education case, an artificial neural network education case for recognizing three types of images was presented. The number of output layers was changed according to the number of images to be recognized by the artificial neural network, and the cases implemented in a spreadsheet were divided and explained. In addition, in order to experience the operation results of the artificial neural network, we presented the educational contents to directly write the learning data necessary for the artificial neural network of the supervised learning method. In this paper, the implementation of the artificial neural network and the recognition test results are visually presented using a spreadsheet.

Network Intrusion detection is a rapidly growing field of information security due to its importance for modern IT infrastructure. Many supervised and unsupervised learning techniques have been devised by researchers from discipline of machine learning and data mining to achieve reliable detection of anomalies. In this paper, a deep convolutional neural network (DCNN) based intrusion detection system (IDS) is proposed, implemented and analyzed. Deep CNN core of proposed IDS is fine-tuned using Randomized search over configuration space. Proposed system is trained and tested on NSLKDD training and testing datasets using GPU. Performance comparisons of proposed DCNN model are provided with other classifiers using well-known metrics including Receiver operating characteristics (RoC) curve, Area under RoC curve (AuC), accuracy, precision-recall curve and mean average precision (mAP). The experimental results of proposed DCNN based IDS shows promising results for real world application in anomaly detection systems.
Parkinson's disease, one of the three major diseases in old age, has more than 70 % of patients with speech disorders, and recently, diagnostic methods of Parkinson's disease through speech signals have been devised. In this paper, we propose a method of diagnosis of Parkinson's disease based on deep residual gated recurrent neural network using speech features. In the proposed method, the speech features for diagnosing Parkinson's disease are selected and applied to the deep residual gated recurrent neural network to classify Parkinson's disease patients. The proposed deep residual gated recurrent neural network, an algorithm combining residual learning with deep gated recurrent neural network, has a higher recognition rate than the traditional method in Parkinson's disease diagnosis.
The complexity of deep learning models affects the real-time performance of gesture recognition, thereby limiting the application of gesture recognition algorithms in actual scenarios. Hence, a residual learning neural network based on a deep convolutional neural network is proposed. First, small convolution kernels are used to extract the local details of gesture images. Subsequently, a shallow residual structure is built to share weights, thereby avoiding gradient disappearance or gradient explosion as the network layer deepens; consequently, the difficulty of model optimisation is simplified. Additional convolutional neural networks are used to accelerate the refinement of deep abstract features based on the spatial importance of the gesture feature distribution. Finally, a fully connected cascade softmax classifier is used to complete the gesture recognition. Compared with the dense connection multiplexing feature information network, the proposed algorithm is optimised in feature multiplexing to avoid performance fluctuations caused by feature redundancy. Experimental results from the ISOGD gesture dataset and Gesture dataset prove that the proposed algorithm affords a fast convergence speed and high accuracy.

In this paper, we discuss a data balancing method for learning a neural network that generates digital holograms using a deep neural network (DNN). Deep neural networks are based on deep learning (DL) technology and use a generative adversarial network (GAN) series. The fringe pattern, which is the basic unit of a hologram to be created through a deep neural network, has very different data types depending on the hologram plane and the position of the object. However, because the criteria for classifying the data are not clear, an imbalance in the training data may occur. The imbalance of learning data acts as a factor of instability in learning. Therefore, it presents a method for classifying and balancing data for which the classification criteria are not clear. And it shows that learning is stabilized through this.
Recognition of characters printed or marked on the PCB components from images captured using cameras is an important task in PCB components inspection systems. Previous optical character recognition (OCR) of PCB components typically consists of two stages: character segmentation and classification of each segmented character. However, character segmentation often fails due to corrupted characters, low image contrast, etc. Thus, OCR without character segmentation is desirable and increasingly used via deep neural networks. Typical implementation based on deep neural nets without character segmentation includes convolutional neural network followed by recurrent neural network (RNN). However, one disadvantage of this approach is slow execution due to RNN layers. LPRNet is a segmentation-free character recognition network with excellent accuracy proved in license plate recognition. LPRNet uses a wide convolution instead of RNN, thus enabling fast inference. In this paper, LPRNet was adapted for recognizing characters printed on PCB components with fast execution and high accuracy. Initial training with synthetic images followed by fine-tuning on real text images yielded accurate recognition. This net can be further optimized on Intel CPU using OpenVINO tool kit. The optimized version of the network can be run in real-time faster than even GPU.

As technology advances, the amount of fake news is increasing more and more by various reasons such as political issues and advertisement exaggeration. However, there have been very few research works on fake news detection, especially which uses grammatical transformation on deep neural network. In this paper, we shall present a new Fake News Detection Model, called FAGON(Fake news detection model using Grammatical transformation On deep Neural network) which determines efficiently if the proposition is true or not for the given article by learning grammatical transformation on neural network. Especially, our model focuses the Korean language. It consists of two modules: sentence generator and classification. The former generates multiple sentences which have the same meaning as the proposition, but with different grammar by training the grammatical transformation. The latter classifies the proposition as true or false by training with vectors generated from each sentence of the article and the multiple sentences obtained from the former model respectively. We shall show that our model is designed to detect fake news effectively by exploiting various grammatical transformation and proper classification structure.
